I really wish SRK & Aishwarya were given a film where they had a happy ending because they were just so beautiful and lovely together. I think their pairing had a lot of potential.
— Mohabbatein (2000): They were the cutest, most wholesome couple with a fairytale romance…except she’s dead and he literally spends the whole film hallucinating her. Instead of actually meeting his daughter’s boyfriend (like a decent person), her stupid dad decides to do The Most and she ends up committing suicide. It’s just tragic all around :(
— Josh (2000): I love this film from the bottom of my heart, but they played siblings and he was an overprotective ass to her. Unpopular opinion, but I think Aishwarya looked cute with her guy. And no, I won’t listen to any Chandrachur slander. Leave him alone.
— Devdas (2002): The Big One. They just looked stunning together. The Morey Piya song sequence was breathtaking. The tension! Except the character of Devdas was a massive cunt, not to mention physically & emotionally abusive. How he fumbled Paro, I’ll never know. He dies at the end while she probably continued living the most miserable life ever with an emotionally unavailable husband. Sigh.
— Shakti The Power (2002): This one doesn’t count because he’s hallucinating her for a song sequence only. Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam doesn’t count either because they weren’t paired together and also I hate that film.
— Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016): They’re…divorced. He still seems to be madly in love with her (I mean, I don’t blame him), but she’s dating Le Douche Manchild. And who knows what went wrong between them in the first place?
I’m aware of what happened in the past, but I wish they were given something nice & fun today, preferrably a mature romance.
