I HATE RICKS BACKSTORY SO FUCKING MUCH

#IT SUCKS!!! IT SUCKS!!! IT SUCKS!!! #its soooo obviously just so hes easier to digest and woobify by both the writers and the fandom. its so obviously not planned ahead. ITS BAD #rick goes from being a sad character as in. heres this adult senior man whos only real close confidant is his 14y/o grandson #who he is regularly verbally abusive to because he needs that sense of control in his life after existing in a multiverse that has forced- #pop nihilism onto him as a survival strategy. THIS IS PATHETIC AND IT MAKES HIM A COMPELLING CHARACTER!!! #but then they take seadon 3s meme joke not serious backstory that is so obviously making fun of that trope and theyre like #lets make it canon. actually. wouldnt that be cool #to me its reminant of like when fandoms take a stupid mocking joke thats made in passing and misinterpret it as sincere #UUUGGGGGHHHHHHHH #AND FUCKING DIANE!!! IS COMPLETELT ROBBED OF ANY CHANCE TO BE A CHARACTER AND EXIST OR DO ANYTHING!!! #SHE ONLY EXISTS SO THE AUDIENCE CAN SYMPATHISE WITH RICK #thats the only reason for this backstory. so that rick is sad and you feel bad for him because his life sucks actually #hes recontextualized from a character who is ultimately his own biggest weakness into a character who just had a tough time. #dont you just feel so bad for him

1. Music! 

Music is one of my favourite things in the world, I always have it playing in the background and I have a wide variety of selections, from Eden’s “Gravity” to Diving by Zero’s “Slim Pickens Does The Right Thing And Rides The Bomb To Hell”. Its strange but music just flows through me, I find mindless limp and useless without music, it helps me getthrough the day and find movtion it adds more flare and life to my like making me feel happier and enjoy life just a little more. 2. Cartoons/Anime! 

Cartoons and Anime are honestly so nice and fun! I dont really care if some people say its “cringy” I just enjoy it, it makes me smile when I feel stressed or makes my crack up, or even makes me emotionally connect, thanks to few cartoons I was able to better understand myself and my emotions, they help me accept myself while reminding me its okay to act like a kid sometimes and enjoy life for a while! 3. Drawing! 

Drawing is the best! I used to have this really bad outlet for when I was nervous (i prefer not to talk about it) but in middle school my art teacher showed me how much fun drawing could be and how its a great alternative for when I fell stressed, sad, mad, or even just happy! Even if the drawings aren’t good I just enjoy doodling cause it calms me down and makes me happy! There isn’t a singly one of my draws that doesn’t have a backstory, every character every detail is all there for a reason, even if its a silly doodle I give them a silly backs story, its the pure thought of creating an entire universe with a stoke of a pencil that entrances me and makes me happy.

4. Animals!

….dont you lie animals are a gift to this world and I love every single one.Cats? Graceful and sometime strange creatures, love them. Dogs? Pure sunshine, can cheer me up whenever, love them Bats? The best fuzzy creatures of the night, I love them. Rats? Mini-cat, love them. Elephants? Cute, love them. List any animal I probably love them. I refuse to pick favorites they are all my kids. 

5. Video Games! 

Okie I can’t afford half of these games im going to list but I love the story, the plot, the lore, the mechanics, the work, the coding, the effort. It is literally one giant interactive piece of art, it is amazing and beautiful! Its not like shows or cartoons where I watch in the sidelines, I can actually contribute and CHOOSE.
