very basic explanation: Shuya, the youngest child, was killed during a mission Sanemi was leading & Kyogo was very disrespectful and dismissive about it bc he doesnt see them as anything other than fodder. Sanemi, overcome with the grief of his latest sibling's death and the years of abuse, lost his shit and lunged at him with intent to kill.

His arm went through Kyogo's chest and together they went through the window, Kyogo briefly fought back and Sanemi used a wind jutsu to utterly shred the inside of his chest cavity. He sits back and processes what just happened and realizes that the pain and grief hasn't gone away.

Shizu finally gets to him- Genya close behind though I didn't show it -and he breaks down over the fact he just killed so brutally so easily. He's become a monster just like Kyogo shaped him to be. Shizu calls for some water & washes the blood off, then gets the bone fragments out and heals him.

Somewhere in my subconscious my brain has mushed together a bit of Katy Perry’s ET and a little t.a.t.u.’s All the Things She Said and now I want a dramatic amv about two girls in love but one of them thinks she’s an alien.

So she’s gracefully ascending to the roof to “You’re from a whole nother world, a different dimension. You open my eyes, and I’m ready to go lead me into the light.”

And her girlfriend (they just had a fight or something) has realized she might be a danger to herself, and she’s scrambling and running after her to “all the things she said (all the things she said) running through my head running through my head”

And they’re climbing the same scaffold, but we’re doing that good old swap where they’re not seeing the same thing. Katy is slowly sweeping up an ancient aliens lighthouse to a rendezvous point with her “true” lover, the alien. Meanwhile Tatu is scurrying up a rickety tower heedless of nicks and scratches.

Anyway they get to the top and Tatu has grappled Katy to the floor. Now they’re singing the verses to each other. Eventually everyone is safe.

‘All The Things She Said’ - Tatu

Number one week ending 8th February 2003 for 4 weeks

The absolute outrage that surrounded this song! It was mostly down to the video, which is like a leery pervert’s dream and so was banned from many channels; two Russian schoolgirls having a lesbian kiss in the rain behind some barbed wire whilst crowds look on. The lyrics continue this theme of a lesbian relationship; ‘they say it’s my fault, but I want her so much’. Although clearly there’s nothing inherently wrong or explicit about relationships between women, and the lyrics treat it sensitively, there was definitely an element of pandering towards controversy with a tick-box exercise of sex stereotypes in the video. Regardless, it’s a pretty good song. The crashing guitars and layers of vocals remind me of the best of 90s American rock, and the contrast between the loud chorus and the quiet verses give it a sense of drama that matches the video.
