You know, I've realized something about my accent. Because the longer I'm in NC, the more southern i sound. But it's more of, when I'm in a space where I don't want to be clocked for being queer (ex: Xtian women giving me a side eye in hobby lobby) I slip into the most southern accent i comfortably can. I'm throwing y'all's and dropping g's and mushing 3 words into 1. I am but simple backwoods farmer woman. Let me into the hobby lobby bathroom plz i gotta pee.

#taks speaks #and the fact that i'm heading back to the hellscape that is FL #this may just become a defense mechanism #because this state may be pretty damn far to the right #but this city itself is diverse and rather safe in that sense #i did get side-eyed like 3 separate times in hobby lobby today tho #thankfully the bathroom was empty when i went there because yeah. 3 separate women #which is a shame because i love that store if you just ignore all the weird stuff around that makes you feel like you're in the wrong place #if you stray into the home decor area at least #side note: i found a really cool lizard plushy while there today and i want it so bad but i don't have $14
