Okay so Gabriel really likes high-class food and desserts, because he didn't really eat much back when he was younger due to obvious reasons, so he educates himself on various desserts and foods and has a hard time choosing one because they all taste so amazing and a lot better compared to rotten fruits they had to eat back in La Lorio (the village they grew up in).

Meanwhile Maikel is just kinda oblivious in various desserts, like he knows of them, but is always all: "I mean, I've seen them from Cornelio's visits but I've never really tried them myself-" so one day his team just gets him a gift basket of sweets from their various cultures. Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di lorio, one of the first people to see Vitalik Buterin’s original Ethereum white paper, fellow Ethereum co-founder Anthony D’Onofrio, early investor Ken Seiff of Blockchange Ventures and CoinDesk podcast producer Adam Levine credit the blockchain’s decentralization efforts to the founding team’s outreach to bring a community together.

In 2014, no one knew what to expect from a token sale that promised to kick-start a whole new type of cryptocurrency, something that would become more than digital money.

“I was bullish in the beginning. When Ethereum first started out, the idea of something beyond Bitcoin was just…it wasn’t out there,” said Di lorio, one of the dozen or so original contributors who wanted to create Ethereum as a startup rather than an open-source project shepherded by a nonprofit – a layout that faced fierce debate in the early days.

Two New Films by Nick Zedd & Brooklyn Fire Proof

Legendary underground filmmaker Nick Zedd and creative complex Brooklyn Fire Proof are proud to announce the release of two new short films, “The Death of Muffinhead” and “Attack of the Particle Disruptors”, produced by Brooklyn Fire Proof Films and shot in Brooklyn Fire Proof’s Bushwick soundstages. Both films were directed by Nick Zedd, produced by Kenneth Filmer, and feature effects and animation by Nouri Zander. Brooklyn Fire Proof’s founder Thomas Burr Dodd served as executive producer.

“The Death of Muffinhead” was inspired by the elaborate costumes designed and fabricated by New York-based artist Muffinhead. The film stars Muffinhead and artist Anaïs Djin performing all of the roles. The film also includes cinematography by Kyle Parsons and the song “Lost Illusions” by Exploded View. “Attack of the Particle Disruptors” animates three of Mr. Zedd’s original paintings. It features dialogue written and voiced by the band Sisyphus Autopsy, and by Jonathan Mittiga with voice acting by Nick Zedd. Michael Slatky provided the music.

This collaboration was initiated by Brooklyn Fire Proof producer, programmer, and stage manager Kenneth Filmer, who wanted the new films by Nick Zedd to premiere as the finale of the 2016 Brooklyn Fire Proof Summer Screening Series. The free series, which was conceived of, programmed, and hosted by Mr. Filmer in Brooklyn Fire Proof’s sizable outdoor alley, featured new and original programs curated by a variety of Brooklyn Fire Proof’s collaborators. “Bringing Nick Zedd to New York from his home in Mexico City to create and premiere two new shorts—as part of a ‘Nick Zedd career retrospective’—seemed like a perfect way to end a series that was about celebrating the outer limits of film in New York. The abbreviated timeline made it an ambitious, possibly insane, project, but we pulled it off,” says Mr. Filmer. The team Filmer assembled had six days to make both films, and screened them on the seventh day.

Mr. Zedd says:

“Working with Muffinhead and the Brooklyn Fire Proof team, especially Kenneth, Nouri and Thomas, was the best filmmaking experience of my life. In a limited time frame we got together, came up with great ideas and finished two films that broke creative barriers and made history. Muffinhead is a genius. His creative vision, along with the efficient support of Brooklyn Fire Proof films inspired me to make my best film ever, “The Death of Muffinhead.”

I'm grateful to Brooklyn Fire Proof for providing the resources, financing and creative support that enabled me to create “Attack of the Particle Disruptors” and “The Death of Muffinhead” with such speed, resulting in two new movies that have literally stunned audiences whenever I've shown them publicly.”

Nick Zedd is an American filmmaker and author from New York City. In 1985, he coined the term Cinema of Transgression to describe a loose-knit group of like-minded New York filmmakers and artists using shock value and black humor in their work. These filmmakers and artistic collaborators included Richard Kern, Tessa Hughes Freeland, Lung Leg, Annie Sprinkle and Lydia Lunch. Under numerous pen names, Zedd wrote and edited The Underground Film Bulletin (1984–90) which publicized the work of these filmmakers. Mr. Zedd’s autobiography Totem of the Depraved was published by Henry Rollins’ 2.13.61 publications in 1996. From 2004 to 2008, Zedd produced and directed a TV series, “The Adventures of Electra Elf”. Since moving to Mexico in 2011, Zedd has edited three issues of the magazine Hatred of Capitalism, in which his “Extremist Manifesto” was published, sending shock waves through the art world. Recent films shot in Mexico City include “Dr Shinto: Frustration”, “Cockfight”, “Demonica”, “Demonic Sweaters: Love Always Love” and a series of music videos for reggaeton singer Natalia Ibenez Lorio aka #laBAE.

A menu with quality over quantity, including a set of well-crafted cocktails, beer on both bottle and draught, wine and bubbles by the glass and a few bar bites and snacks. Not a full dinner. But super luxurious and romantic still. Perfect place for both after work or date, while soaking in views of the Big Apple, enjoying the sophisticated but vibrant atmosphere. Just make sure to be in good time, as the main terrace does not take reservation. You can however reserve the private Garden Table.

Does it get more romantic than panoramic views over the Eiffel Tower? Most likely not, and one of the very best places to get this is at the Café de l’Homme. Located inside the Palais de Chaillot, the beautiful terrace comes with lovely vistas of Trocadéro Gardens and the Champ de Mars as well. Here you get a fine-dining cuisine, a great selection of wines and mixology cocktails of the highest standard. Luxurious and sophisticated, yet cosy and welcoming at the same time, Café de l’Homme is truly a fantastic spot for a romantic dinner. And if the weather should fail for al-fresco terrace seating, there is also a part of the terrace that is a covered and very cosy Winter Garden.

A perfect spot for a romantic Valentines date. Here you can enjoy Roman-born Chef Di Lorio’s fantastic gourmet food, both á la carte style or go for a tasting menu with the option of a sommelier picking out the perfect wine for each dish. Pricey indeed but guaranteed a memory for life.

Sit down in one of the lounge sofas or park yourself in the large round bar and enjoy the contemporary drink menu, selection of nouveau tapas and some chill music. Perfect rooftop bar for a romantic drink or dinner.

On the 58th floor of the The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong you’ll find Flair Rooftop Restaurant & Bar. Not only the highest rooftop restaurant in Shanghai, but in all of China. From the magnificent rooftop you get a fantastic view of Shanghai. Both a cool close up of the Pearl Tower, and being one of few rooftops on the Pudong side, some rare views of the Huangpu district. Often ranked as one of the world’s best rooftop bars. The bar offers a large set of creative and well-made signature cocktails. There is also a large food menu, serving tapas-style dishes from Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Thailand and China. Romantic and luxurious at the same time.

12. Restaurant Terrazza Danieli, Venice

The luxurious and romantic vibe starts already at the entrance of the Hotel Danieli and continues up to the rooftop and restaurant, which has a very classic Italian fine dining setting. Charles Hoskinson Talks Crypto Space Entrance, Founding Platforms And Ethereum Creation Role

Charles Hoskinson has led an interesting life, taking on endeavors in the cryptocurrency community like the founding of Cardano. He has worked to co-found Ethereum as well, and he sat down with Mpho Dagada to discuss the many roles he has taken on, and what he believes the crypto world is in for next.

One of the areas of interest during this discussion is about how Bitcoin has grown since he started learning about it in 2011. At the time, Hoskinson had decided to purchase Bitcoin and even mine it. Unfortunately, there was a “Crypriot crisis” that happened shortly after, which ultimately pushed Bitcoin to grow in a way that it hadn’t performed before then.

He was sure to note,

“But I didn’t professionally get in until about 2013, that’s when the Cypriot crisis happened, and Bitcoin went from nothing to over $250. And there was a huge wave of people entering the space… So, either I get on the truck or it’s going to leave without me. I need to do something in the movement.”

After he got involved, he eventually started a project called Bitcoin Educational Project, which included free content that he added to platforms like YouTube to engage others in the conversation about crypto. Overall, there were 80,000 students that participated, leading Hoskinson to meet other influencers in the industry, including Roger Ver and Andreas M. Antonopoulos.

By 2013, Hoskinson was approached by an investor in China that wanted him to start a company and was offering over $500,000 to do it.

Even though he considered it at the time, due to the volatility of Bitcoin, he said,

“The very first person to answer that was Dan Larimer on the forum posts that I created, and He said: Oh, I have this thing called BitShares that I have just come up with. You might be interested. So, Dan and I, actually started talking and eventually I flew down to Virginia met with him.”

Ultimately, Hoskinson developed a company called Invictus Innovations Inc, which made BitShares possible. Hoskinson later left the company, due to differences between himself and Larimer. He was then asked to create content by Anthony Di Lorio, who was the reason that Hoskinson met Vitalik Buterin and became the fifth member of the Ethereum endeavor.

He said,

“[Anthony said] There’s this kid called Vitalik, at that time he was 19, and he’s written this great white paper. I can’t really make heads or tails of it. Can you read it? Let me know what you think. And I said sure, Anthony. So, I read the paper, was very rough but I said, there’s something here and that’s how I met Vitalik Buterin.”

Once the team met up for the North American Bitcoin Conference in 2014, Ethereum was born shortly after.

Regarding this transition, Hoskinson said,

“The North American Bitcoin conference in January 2014. So, Anthony rented a beach house, we all bought her own way. There we met everybody, Joseph Lubin, Gavin Wood came, a lot of the big guys now who were not so big guys back then came and that was really the birth of Ethereum.”

It seems that Hoskinson may have taken on some different choices with the team, if they had expected Ethereum to grow as big as it did.

He noted,

“So, we got Vitalik… his presentation was really swarmed. Like a rock star… he kind of had a second tier speaking slot and he goes on and they only gave him 25 minutes. He says, let me introduce Ethereum. He put this thing on the slide, shows you how you can do master coin and 20 lines of code and then 13 lines of code or something like that. And then he [Vitalik] says, any questions? everybody in the room raises their hands. And I felt so bad for the speaker that had to follow them because they had only time for like 3 minutes of questions. So, when Vitalik left, everybody just left the room and the speaker comes up there and the room is empty.”

Ethereum soon had two separate groups in the company, dealing with the business side and the technical side. Lubin and Di Lorio were in charge of the business side, while Buterin and Wood headed up the technical side. Hoskinson took on a managing position for both groups.

When the project started, Hoskinson had two ways that they could build up the platform. While one option was to work in a similar way to Ripple for multiple sectors that would ultimately be a profit company with plenty of discipline and focus, the other was to establish a non-profit company. This second option would involve a crowdfunding campaign, where the company would use funds for the development of necessary protocols. To summarize the options, the company basically saw them as “crypto-Google” and “crypto-Mozilla.”

Apparently, the business side favorited crypto-Google, though the technical side believed that the integrity of the entire project would be challenged with this option. Hoskinson believed that proper structure was necessary to avoiding many problems, including the loss of capital. When the group met together in June 2014, Buterin opted for the non-profit option – crypto-Mozilla.

Hoskinson left the team after working together for quite a while and was followed soon after by other members. Hoskinson believes that their 50% loss of funds raised had a lot to do with Bitcoin’s drop from $600 to $250 in price.

IOTA trinity wallet release increases adoption chances

In the current race to get projects off the ramp often sees teams roll out products without secure and user-friendly wallets. That eventually impacts on user experiences, turning exuberance into exasperation. Well, perhaps that has been the thinking behind IOTA’s delayed release of their much-hyped Trinity Wallet.

It turns out the community also collaborated on the project, culminating in a product that’s now in testnet. The IOTA project has a much tougher task, trying to balance its Internet of Things (IoT) and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) approach to cryptocurrency. While the team has done a great job by putting together a truly experienced Foundation, their efforts to steer the coin towards am working product can only be complemented by a satisfied community.

The IOTA community has constantly, but patiently talked about and waited for the benefits of having a wallet designed to offer security and ease of use for all MIOTA holders. By reaching the testing stage, Trinity is almost out and that can only add to the expected increased adoption of the crypto in the course of 2018.

The Alpha release involved about 250 users and beta is expected somewhere in May. It is a feature-filled, boasting both “standard” and “expert” modes. It will also allow snapshot transitions of the Tangle. The snapshot involves resetting the Tangle to improve on scalability. Additionally, the wallet will allow fiat conversion when sending MIOTA.

Qtum (QTUM)

QTUM is trading at $15.05, +8.78% higher against the US dollar over the 24h period and +13.55% over the 7-day period. The crypto has a market cap of $1.3b and the last 24h have seen $205m exchanged for this 19th ranked coin. What’s likely to sustain interest in the coin in Q2 and beyond?

Qtum’s appeal lies in its architecture

The many advantages Qtum has over its immediate rivals give it an edge in the race for adoption. While it faces stiff competition from the likes of Cardano and EOS, the unique architecture of combining the “best of Bitcoin and Ethereum” makes it quite attractive to big influencers and companies that believe in the top two coins.

Furthermore, Qtum utilizes its own network of satellites for connections, meaning it doesn’t rely on traditional internet connections. The platform also holds an advantage over other upcoming coins due to its connection to the IoT Alliance. This gives it a useful platform to explore more uses for its network.

However, the biggest advantage involves the number of high profile individuals who support the coin. These influencers, like Di Lorio and Jeremy Gardner, give the platform a lot of valuable exposure to their followers, helping the coin’s visibility.

NEO (NEO)

NEO is certainly one of the highlight projects coming out strongly in 2018. Ranked 9th on the market, the coin has a market cap of $3.9 billion. At the time of writing the coin was trading at $61.22 against the US dollar.  Over the last 24 hours, the coin has had an upside price movement of +11.34%. The percentage increases over the 7-day period, accumulating +30.94% against the USD. What then is expected to have NEO ticking on all the right boxes in the coming days?

The NEP-5 token platform will be vital

The success of Ontology (ONT) has helped draw interest in the NEP-5 token hosted on the NEO network. At the moment, there are about 19 NEP-5 projects on the NEO platform, all of which will be crucial once they get listed on exchanges. Look out for Switcheo (SWH), Apex (CPX), Trinity (TNC), and Neon Exchange (NEX).

Also interesting is the revelation that 6 new projects will be announced at this week’s NEO meet-up in Amsterdam. As part of its Europe Tour, NEO will be in a number of iconic cities, highlighting its VM and helping developers get hands-on skills in building on its platform.

Apart from that, it’s also crucial for the platform if Upbit, Korea’s largest exchange goes ahead to implement the NEO/GAS distribution initiative. According to a post on NEO’s subreddit, the exchange will begin paying NEO holders GAS tokens as from May 7th. This is what part of the post, says:

“Thank you for waiting so long. We have reviewed and solved various security issues for GAS payment; we will pay NEO GAS every week from May 7 for members who have NEO in Upbit”

We will likely see an increase in the daily trading volume of NEO with the above announcement. Exciting times wait ahead for this cryptocurrency.
