iris and talia are so obviously the cute ones in the relationship. talia tries to fight this, but mephisto is just kinda like “talia no. have you looked at me? i’m a sea troll. passable in certain lighting and pretty good when wet, but generally a no.”

Lolirock Appreciation Week Days Six and Seven

Day Six - Favorite Ships 

I don’t ship often but out of all the ships in the fandom Auristo is my favorite. Mephisto has said more than once that he thinks Auriana is cute and while that might not be a good enough reason on its own they have very similar personalities despite being on opposite sides and they seem to get along pretty well when they aren’t fighting.

I don’t ship them as much as I do Auristo but Praxiris, Iristo, Nathiris, and Taliris are also very good ships that I can get behind.

Day Seven - Free Day (Favorite Songs/Concert Scene)

So one of the main draws of the show is the music. That said, while I’m not a big fan of the songs and concert scenes there are aspects that I do like and with this being Lolirock Appreciation Week what better way to show my appreciation for those aspects than to talk about them? 

In terms of the songs themselves and without taking the outfits, videos, or dance, or any specific scenes into account Revolution is automatically my favorite. It’s one of the only two songs whose lyrics I can remember and of the two, I think it has the better lyrics and sound. The lyrics are extremely catchy and the sound fits right in. If I had to pick one favorite Revolution would be that song.

The other song whose lyrics I can remember is Higher and the one thing that makes it likable to me is that part of the lyrics are used for the opening theme. I love Lolirock’s opening theme and the fact that it’s lyrics are part of Higher’s is what makes it Higher a song worth listening to.

Clothingwise I have two choices. Revolution has the most casual choice of clothing which I absolutely love, however, I’ve already chosen it as a favorite and I don’t think it’s fair for me to have it fit the role of favorite twice. Yes it has my favorite clothing conceptwise with the jackets that are taken off to reveal their casual clothing but in terms of design I have another favorite. 

Of the fancier outfits, Never Give up has to be my favorite when it comes to Iris specifically. I don’t know how to explain it but outside of the scenes with wings it looks really good on her, moreso than a lot of the other outfits. For Auriana is has to be her outfit for Party Talking and for Talia her outfit in New Star Generation. Again, I can’t explain why but both those outfits just work for them. For the trio as a whole though the outfits they wear in Celebrate that occasionally shows up in other songs has to be my favorite. I just love the way that the outfits incorporate stars and how the look on the girls. The same goes for their second outfit in Higher and how it incorporates bows while still being unique to each girl.

While it’s rather brief, Reach The Stars has my favorite scene out of all of the songs/concerts scenes. The way the girls introduce themselves at the halfway point when the spotlight hits them is a nice visual. Talia just turns around but it works, Auriana is introduced sitting on a crystal which she hops down from, and Iris swivels around in a throne made from crystal before standing up. The entire thing last less than half a minute from the 1:45 mark to the 2:00 mark but it’s a wonderful scene that I absolutely love.

Dancewise, Celebrate has to have my favorite of them all. I like the way it incorporates batons into the mix alongside their weapons. It really stands out and goes well with the song to elevate the dances to a higher status than that of the other songs and their dances.

Picking a favorite song where everything is taken into account is a tough choice. BFF, Never Give Up, and New Star generation are all contenders for best video in my eyes but they also all have their own flaws as well. If I had to pick a favorite video as a whole I’d probably go with New Star Generation. While the song and dance aren’t my favorites they serve the music video itself rather well. The outfits are also really good as is the imagery the video uses. Yeah there are elements I like better when it comes to other songs/concert scenes but if looking at New Star Generation as a music video it’s definitely my favorite.
