Jaune’s not coming back to Remnant

I think him mentioning that Alyx sacrificed her brother to the tree so that she could leave is heavy foreshadowing.

I think Jaune is going to sacrifice himself to the tree to get team rwby out…that’s just the type of guy he is.

At this point he doesn’t have anything left to lose. He’s lived the now majority of his life without those he holds close.

Assumedly/roughly 20+ years here in the Ever After. No contact with his family, the rest of his team, his friends. Nothing. Yeah sure, he must have met others seeing as he says he has a village to bring Ruby and co to, but still. Everything he’s known is gone.

Getting his friends back home would be the most important thing to him, even if it meant sacrificing his life.

I really hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think so…at least he’ll finally get some rest

-The Aftermath-

Lute had returned from Hell, still clutching Adam’s halo. Fueled by spite, adrenaline, and rage, she went to find Lilith. The person responsible for wanting the exterminations in the first place. The reason Adam is dead. The demons killed him because she’s the one who wanted them to go and kill sinners. She had indirectly led him to his death. Nevermind that he got cocky and thought himself untouchable, but they wouldn’t have been to Hell in the first place if she hadn’t made the deal with him to do the exterminations. All because she got tired of leading the sinners and wanted to start over.

After encountering Lilith, Lute went home, to their shared home. Everything felt so empty now. The adrenaline finally faded and she could feel just how much pain she was in. She had ripped off her fucking arm. It was fucked. The bone was shattered and sticking out. Almost no muscle remained. She was going to have to find some way to patch herself up. Sure there was a hospital in Heaven, but how would she even explain what happened. Even though the council of angels now knew about the exterminations, most others didn’t. She figured a tourniquet would be the easiest solution. At least get the bleeding to stop and to apply pressure. The bathroom had gauges and other first aid things but she found it difficult to apply to herself one handed. She managed as best she could, and made it back to the bedroom. She put Adam’s halo on her nightstand, saw his robe in a pile on the floor, grabbed it and curled up on the bed. She silently cried until she fell asleep, until she would wake up in a cold sweat off and on. She held his robe close, it still smelled like him.

Nothing went the way it was planned, they lost so much. She sees his face when she closes her eyes. The way he smiled at her as he took his final breath. It was the only thing he could manage to do. It hurt. She could feel her heart in the pit of her stomach. She wanted to puke. She was shaking. He was the only thing she had and now he’s gone. She knew the reason he smiled at her was because she stayed with him until the end. She would have stayed for anything.

A day or so had passed before Emily showed up at the door. She heard the news (even though Sera wanted to keep her in the dark to not stir more problems) and wanted to make sure Lute was doing as okay as she could be. She disagrees with extermination of souls, but still also cares about her people. Em helped Lute with her bandages and brought her other things to help out. After a week of Emily coming by everyday to help her, Lute thanked her and reassured her that she’ll be okay. Told her if she needed anything she would let her know. She appreciated the concern, but didn’t want pity. She could handle things on her own, just have to get used to doing things one handed. She’ll be fine. She has to be.
