It's not about angst, as I love enemies to lovers when they are the real enemies, not "I never hated you" "enemies", so I love Loki and Sylvie fighting and disagreeing.
My issue is that their interactions are just stressing and tiring in S2. It's unclear what these two want. Does Sylvie want to be left alone? Does Loki not see her point at all? Where did emotionally intelligent Loki from S1 disappear?
I'm Sylki but at this point I want to have a new ship for Sylvie but they don't let her substantially interact with anyone other than Loki now! Must I ship her with her young boss???
It's very TENSE isn't it? The audience feeling TENSE as well is arguably television doing it's job but oh it's so uncomfortable to be a (spectatory) part of.
I think she wants to be left alone but she's not allowed to be left alone as she's still in the show, so she has to make sure to turn up mid-episode, do something useful, and then piss off again because she can't stay but she also can't leave. If she goes there will be trouble! But if she stays it will be double!!
Most disappointing though is that it does sometimes feel like she only really exists for Loki's sake :( I think that's partly a problem of focus, like how so many people online think she's just being a bitch and difficult for the sake of it rather than having the correct opinions valid points that need to be made. I suppose the finale will decide whether she was right all along which she totally was or if this is indeed a case of Silly Sylvie, Why Would You Worry About These Things? Stop Being Hysterical About Fascism!
Sylvie/Ravonna would be a good enemy ship, how about them? I know they didn't really interact much this year either but they did at least exchange words. How does sylvonna strike you as a pairing, Anon?
