Every so often I randomly remember watching Katie's soul physically leave her body upon being reminded of the gun control episode and I am just violently reminded that I am In Love with her. Sorry.

Some casual Supergirl math:
Confidence Women appears to be a bit over 5k words (though there will probably be variance - high conversation vs. high action episodes will vary).
Supergirl had 126 episodes. That puts the show at 630k words.
We have 8 works that individually are longer than the original show. I think some writers like @jazzfordshire are over a million words across their works. (I've been around for 2 years and have 200k words across my works.)
I don't have an easy way to compute a mean average, but the median fic (of the 21,297 fics we currently have on AO3) is at 3,260 words... if we have an even distribution, that suggests about 69 million words total.
This is all handwavy math that I did in 5 minutes, but... it looks like we may have done the show's words over 100x over as a fandom.
And that's pretty cool ❤️

Thinking about how fun watching Supergirl would have been had supercorp been canon. The potential for light-hearted romantic comedy in the midst of intergalactic conflicts, family conflicts, and just their regular world ending villains pushing their definitions of morality. I just feel like, as a writer, it would have been such a shame to let all that potential go to waste.
Kara being an independent woman who can stand on her own two feet is good BUT Lena Luthor was right there. She was right there.
Sometimes life throws you a billionaire CEO with a heart of gold and a brain so brilliant it'd advance human technology for centuries (Not to mention, so so hot) and all you gotta do is let the chips fall where they may.

katierosereptar SO pleased to add another chapter to my book, “Katie McGrath elevates my words to an unimaginable level.” But seriously, oftentimes as a writer the voice in our heads is quiet. Other times it’s loud, loud, LOUD. Erratic and obnoxious. For this story — a story about nightmares, AI, AND femininity... The voice in my head was that of my good friend. Dark, melodic, gorgeously Irish.
And now, due to the magic of podcasts and the ingenuity of @robbiehyne ,she is literally the voice in your head as well. So much love to sweet Robbie for inviting me to this inaugural season. He gave me something else to think about during the strike and got me back into sci/fi. I missed it so. Check out (UN)LIKEMINDED wherever you listed to podcasts.
Anyways. Enjoy my nightmares read by my forever muse.

Maybe Hindsight is something, but I'm watching Season 2 of Supergirl again, and I agree there were fundamental flaws in the basic construction of how they chose to use Mon-el (and I still don't ship Karamel), but... what he actually does? The way the story uses Kara and Mon-el? Their relationship? It's really good, and it's as much, or even more about showcasing Kara, and her strengths and depths and how she changes Mon-el, as it is about Mon-el and his development.
There was so much screeching about Mon-el back when season 2 was airing, and I always knew it was silly, but I forgot just how silly it was.

"Aah!!" She'd feel the much stronger woman fucking her in midair, holding her hips at her like it were nothing. She truly showed her strength and soon would lose all sense of herself.
"Part of me thinks you're enjoying this. Having a much stronger woman fuck you silly." Supergirl hummed as she kept up her pounding thrusts. Moaning softly as well as she was definitely was feeling pleasure from touching and fucking Tifa.

Updates concerning my works-in-progress in the Supergirl/SuperCorp fandom!
I definitively fell into the SuperCorp rabbit hole and I'm over my head and my muse has decided that I needed to work on EIGHT (8) projects at the same time, 4 fanfictions and 4 fancomics.
In this there's one fic and two comics in what I dubbed the "superwitch presents 'verse" :
the main story is about time travel and witch!Lena and huge fix-its bc really this show needs them. (I've plotted the main story and wrote some of the important scenes, but I need to rewatch the show for details);
then there's the "challenge accepted" comic (yes the one I shared a sneak peek the other day, that one) which is halfway done but I don't know when I'll post it bc it feels weird without context (the context being the time travel fic);
and there's also the second comic that is clearly NSFW. What am I getting into?
Second fic? A little something taking place in a canon-divergent season two, that has been inspired by an episode of Farscape (the one where Chrighton is the only genetically viable suitor to a sebacean princess?) It's probably halfway done, I guess?
Third fic? Alien!Lena, yeaaah! I'm a sucker for this trope. But I wanted to make it a little bit different. This one is kind of an author's favorite and I've been thinking about it for a year but I only started writing less than a month ago. I can't wait to finish it and share it!
Fourth fic! It's like, totally random. It started as a writing exercise with a random prompt I found here and that made me laugh. It helped me overcome my writing block, so I guess whether I finish it one day or not it accomplished its purpose but what I wrote is kinda funny so I'd like to post it one day. (And there's my "favorite" douchecanoe in it, yes, that douche ceo from season one, you know the one)
So it's about third comic now, I think? This one was supposed to be for pride month but well... The calendar and I never agree on anything. But yeah, trans!Kara is coming your way (sooner or later)
Fourth and last comic: something cute and funny involving a kitten. Because who doesn't like kittens? (Lena, apparently. Just kidding)
There'll probably be more project sprouting in my brain but I really need to focus on the main ones first. I promise I'm working on this as fast as I can, with every spoons I have (yes I'm a spoonie)
SuperCorp and creating works about SuperCorp make me so happy lately and I really hope I can make other people happy with that too, but I can't post an unfinished work. So well, you'll have to wait.
(And now that all is said I'm going to bed bc it's like 4:40am here... Bye)

A conversation I just had with TankedMuse, the TankGirl-shaped muse that helps me write:
Her: Hey, I have an idea for the next sequel to OBaaT. The one after the one we're writing now.
Me: Go ahead.
Her: (redacted)
Me: No.
Her: But--
Me: No. It's not that I won't; it's that I can't. I physically would not be able to type the words into a document. It would be impossible for me to do. It will never happen. Never.
Her: You don't have to get all huffy about it.
Me: And you didn't have to put that into my head this morning, so we're even.
Her: *pouts*
Me: Go away. And take that angsty mess with you. When you come back, bring plot or fluff. Plot or fluff. Those are your only options.

‘Public Free Use’ (for Supergirl) - @darkside-of-the-multiverse (Batgirl)
Send ‘Public Free Use’ For the receiving muse to shamelessly fuck the sending muse in public. (Still accepting!)
Kara was in the middle of battling Lex Luthor when she called in for backup. He had invented some sort of new weapon that not only could control minds, but make the victim of the mind control overwhelmingly horny as well. Unfortunately for both her and Batgirl, Lex had managed to hit her with the weapon by the time Batgirl had arrived in Metropolis.
Lex had noticed Batgirl's arrival, and commanded Supergirl to deal with her. With that Kara flew over to where Batgirl was, and pinned her fellow superheroine down. Followed by tearing her suit open to expose her pussy. Then bared her cock to start pounding Batgirl.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but the idea that Kara would eventually tell the world she's Supergirl is a good ending (if written well). Having the constant looming stress of "if I get outed, everyone I love will get fucking murdered" is... a heavy burden, and I think she's been through enough hardship in her life.
But in order to do that, you need to address two things...
General xenophobia
It's a Super Life
The show sort of does address xenophobia. We go from "aliens aren't real [except Superman]" (which is a weird stance in the pilot but oh well) to "aliens are real" to "aliens are a major threat" (season 4) to "building acceptance" (season 6). Acceptance is never sudden and total, but things can shift over time where it's safer to be out now than decades ago, and that's what happens in the show with being alien. I think they could've done better here (especially in highlighting Kara's stress to give us a better sense of why being able to be out is important), but they tried.
But they never touch It's a Super Life. In Kara's mind, her secret coming out can get everyone killed! Everyone she loves! And the thing is, it's so easy to fix. Mxy can't really rewrite time - if he could, "Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk" would've gone much better for him. He's just a trickster god who took the obvious route (lying) to making his friend feel better. Problem solved.
But they didn't touch on that, which makes the finale decision BIZARRE.
Of course, revisiting It's a Super Life poses a problem in the writing. For a lot of the rift, we saw a really beautiful saga of "two flawed people, driven by their different traumas, caused each other a lot of pain". It's a Super Life was part of the shift away from that complexity. The showrunners just couldn't handle it.
But with better writing... we can end up in a world where Kara feels safe and happy, and finally free of that weighty burden that she might suddenly lose everything again.

@forthewinn from kara
the fight had been brutal in it’s nature, the diasporan leader determined in his path of destruction which only served to fuel a rage-filled determination which was all-consuming for a red lantern. there had been only one course of action open to kara zor-el if she wished to stop the disaporan army before it reached earth. she had to remove the ring-- an action which would mean certain death--and hope her proximity to the sun might grant her a rebirth. and if it didn’t? well, kara was at peace in the knowledge that she had righted one of her father’s wrongs and her adoptive planet would be saved from a worldkiller’s rampage. it happens as if in slow motion, them hurling toward the surface of the sun as ring parts with finger. she can feel the worldkiller’s grip upon her loosen, then disappear as her heart stopped. it was pain and then peace, for the briefest of moments. no rage.no chaos. her whole being freed in a way it had never been before as her cells became repowered, radiation from the sun consuming her and restarting her heart.
it’s then a flash of light consumes her, dragging her away and the world around her spinning until something new comes into focus. one moment she had been floating into the sun, the next, she’s suddenly materialized back on earth in the exact spot a memorial to the fallen from cyborg superman’s attack should stand but doesn’t. eyes dart around, senses opened to the sounds of national city, except, it wasn’t right. it wasn’t her national city. she wasn’t a stranger to the multiverse but.. what was happening? how did she get here? inquires swirl within her mind until she turns around again only to stagger backward a step when her eyes lock onto those of winn. it wasn’t possible. he’d died in brainiac’s attack and yet--  lips part and water threatens her eyes as she moves forward to engulf him into an embrace before her mind can catch up to her actions. “i can’t believe you’re here, in front of me.” emotion fills voice, kara forcing herself to let go, hesitation in her action as if she believes he’ll disappear if she moves too far; she looks like she’s about to cry, though kara works to reign it in. if this wasn’t her earth, then this wasn’t her winn, was it? “i’m sorry-- please tell me you know who i am.” her winn or not, she’s not sure she can handle him not knowing her or some version of her in some capacity, not after everything she’d just been through.

I get that M'gann is a white martian in comics canon, but I kinda wish Supergirl had kept her as a green, because it would have been a very interesting dichotomy, her take on not wanting to remember Mars and wanting to forget her culture, etc,
