Tails

Drip...Drip...Drip...

The water from Leo’s drenched locks of blond hair fell back into the ocean. Frustrated at the sound, he shook his head then looked back up at the ship bobbing on the choppy waves, his blue eyes sharp with focus. Humans. Their scent was strong.

Letting his body go back under the water, his massive teal-scaled tail moved through the brisk ocean water towards the ship. Humans were fickle. He’d be watching this ship all night in the hopes that one of them would fall overboard. Or even better: the entire ship would sink.

There was a change in vibration around him and Leo turned towards the sensation to see Kyle, the second best hunter in the tribe, swimming after a few sharks. Ugh, shark meat was nothing compared to the sweet taste of human. But Kyle knew better than to perch on Leo’s hunt and he knew he’d be left alone to bring in this catch.

Provided, of course, the humans did something stupid enough to fall into the ocean.
