@strongestleif from wtf this is

"Could you, perhaps, do it… less rhythmically, then?" A tone of compromise. "The high priest is notably incensed; he's been insinuating that your movements are bewitching the entire kingdom."

Holds up his spear and giant shield! "fight me!"
His eyebrows perked.
Tumblr media
"Alright," he agreed easily.
Such was a request he could readily get behind.
The mercenary pulled his own weapons from his belt, tonfa in hand as his stance lowered...
In the next moment he was a blur - a flash of green and yellow as he launched a high kick at the stranger's head.

"Wa- no no. Your not Wagner."

"...Can I help you?" It's not often Kuja gets mistaken for other people-- Distinct looking as he strives to be. He's not quite certain how to feel about that.

@strongestleif sent: dantarg accidentally made Subier mad ! so he's being restrained by a giant octopus whose tentacles are going into pg18 places by sheer coincidence. /jk but
Tumblr media
"Oi, Wagnas," Subier called from his elevated position, a hint of amusement in his tone. He cocked his head, directing attention toward the knot of wriggling red appendages that engulfed Dantarg limb by limb. The tentacle'd mass coiled and writhed beneath the scant armor Dantarg had chosen to wear, a punishment for his brazen entry into Subier's territory.
"Can you believe it? This guy just wandered right into my territory trying to pick a fight!" Subier continued, relishing in the spectacle that unfolded below. Wagnas, however, was less than surprised. The seven of them had engaged in sporadic sparring sessions, but Dantarg's insatiable thirst for battle seemed unquenchable. His ill-timed intrusion was more a stroke of misfortune than anything else. Subier's newfound abilities had evidently fueled his confidence.
"It would seem I've interrupted something," Wagnas remarked, his voice measured. His eyes were on Dantarg, what he could see of him. He wouldn't intervene unless given cause.
"Heh, all that muscle, but you can't do shit when you're restrained, huh?" Subier taunted, the tentacles tightening their grip on Dantarg's biceps. "Better break out of his grip soon, or I'm gonna have to join in." A promise of further escalation if Dantarg failed to extricate himself from the octopus' clutches.

"And where, pray, would we find another mercenary as mighty?"

"If any of us were to perish first, I've my doubts it would be you." it would be Kzinssie.

@strongestleif from what do you mean eat more meat...
Tumblr media
Wagnas' expression tightened, a subtle hint of irritation at the suggestion to 'just run'. He was no seasoned warrior, but he wasn't defenceless either. Grabbing the lance with more haste than grace, he attempted to wield it.
However, the lance proved far too heavy, slipping from his grasp within moments, slamming like the ring of a gong upon the ground. Dantarg, with his formidable strength, made handling such a weapon seem effortless. Wagnas couldn't help but frown at his own struggle.
"...Meat, you say?" he questioned, sceptical that a diet was the sole key to Dantarg's impressive strength. Genetics, he reasoned, must also play a significant role. "I suspect my physique isn't suited to the same fighting style as yours. But fleeing is not in my nature. I will fight to my last."
He lifted the handle of the weighty lance back to Dantarg. "Noel taught me some techniques, but it's been a while since then. The life of a priest doesn't afford many opportunities for combat training, regrettably."
Tumblr media
"...Will meat help?"

"By Wagnas! I'll see you at dinner. I found this nice fella name -Omega- and we're going to fight till one of us dies."
Tumblr media
That's probably fine. "Have fun. Please remember to wash when you return."
Doesn't question Kzinssie following Dantarg out of the temple like a lost puppy with hearts flying around his head either. That's probably fine.

@strongestleif sent: "And then."
Dantarg voice is firm, but there is something in his voice, some unknown emotion.
"And then? When the dread queen ends. What will you do?"
Tumblr media
Wagnas' eyes were presently riveted on a stream of purple miasma cascading from his palm. The ethereal substance moved with certain grace, reminiscent of smoke swirling from a kiseru pipe.
The burden of being a seer lay in the unforgiving honesty of the stars-- once their secrets were deciphered, the knowledge, a heavy mantle that draped over his consciousness, cast shadows on even the brightest moments.
A disconcerting truth had been revealed to him, long before-- the impending loss of the world. Defeating the Queen would only grant a fleeting reprieve to the people inhabiting this fragile world.
The enigmatic miasma swirled, assuming the delicate form of a butterfly, purple wings flickering like ethereal flames.
"I will save this world. Again."
Tumblr media
Crushing the butterfly effigy in his fist, Wagnas's gaze ascended to meet Dantarg's. The intensity in his violet eyes, pure conviction. "Why ask? Do you believe that the death of the Queen will mark the end of our journey?"

Oh. Yes. He is supposed to be on a diet...
Protein. 'Gains'.
But... Wagnas has to start drawing the line somewhere. "That would depend on how long it has been dead for."

@strongestleif sent: "What do you believe the high priest end goal is. Wagnas."
Tumblr media
Once, Wagnas believed their goals were intertwined: to foresee the apocalypse and then avert it. It was the inception of that peculiar machine that marked the beginning of a shift in the High Priest's demeanour.
No, it might be more apt to suggest this period revealed the High Priest's authentic nature, especially within the court's walls. The graver Wagnas' prophecies became, the more forceful and irritable the High Priest turned, often berating his attendants and urging the accelerated completion of the machine, heedless of the toll it exacted on the scholars tasked with its creation.
Subsequently, the High Priest's indifference towards the city's peripheral inhabitants became glaringly apparent-- The temple's aid, once a lifeline for the impoverished, dwindled to a trickle. The destination of the temple's collected donations remained a mystery to Wagnas, as the contributions perpetually failed to meet their intended mark.
Tumblr media
"...I only wish I knew," Wagnas admitted, his words heavy with the weight of unspoken criticism, constrained as he was from openly challenging the High Priest. "Whatever purpose his invention serves, I suspect it caters heavily to his personal ambitions... But, our focus is the Dread Queen. With her defeat, not only the King but indeed the entire World will align with our cause." He smiled his reassuring smile. "It is not your worry, Dantarg."
