Meet Ann Hobbie, infectious instructor, master motivator and, to the core…energetic educator. And, let’s not forget, newly minted ACE personal trainer. Ann’s wellness coaching and one-on-one training practice is up and running (pun intended!).
In all seriousness, Ann’s ready and energized to help Defining You clients achieve better health each step of the way while ever-gently reminding us to enjoy the journey, not the destination.
She approaches her classes with passion and purpose and infuses fitness training with an inclusive signature style described by her clients as thoughtful, dynamic and challenging. “I create profiles and training regimens that are fresh, fun, effective,” explained Ann, who teaches a wide repertoire of Barre, Tabata, HIIT, Spin and specialty pop-up classes such as YOUth Fit and Buns & Guns. “I change things up, varying the exercises that target specific muscle groups, the effective format for working them and then add motivating music. And while I don’t take myself too seriously, I exercise for how it makes me feel – not how it makes me look – as being fit has a positive impact for me physically, mentally and emotionally.”

Since passing her personal training certification, Ann has been busier than ever channeling her gifts, skills and expertise to improve the well being of others. “Being a certified trainer makes me purposeful and focused in my work with clients,” she explained. “I can be targeted to help them reach their goals, and build bridges to break it down and make this path toward improved wellness doable. I also know how to adapt to each client so we can work around challenges like injuries, time constraints or exercise preferences. As a trainer, you get to help people with a variety of goals from weight loss to functional movement to athletic performance. Certification has given me a new level of knowledge.”
