I hate Steve's parents more than Billy's. Neil terrifies me, but Margaret and Nick suck the fucking soul out of that house. All the lying and posturing at giving a shit.... hate them.

Actually, on that note, once more, fuck his parents. Blatantly saying they aren't going to see their son after he graduates, that they don't care enough if they EVER see him again, that they're selling the house and don't particularly care if they ever return to Hawkins... of course they came back when they did. It's sort of a farewell. But one they feel obligated toward, not one they give a shit about having.

Okay haha OKAY yeah I went back and added Holly Jolly Penetration to the Christmas chapter. Originally I was saving it for later on in the fic but I managed to put it in (ba dum tss) without taking away from the significance of a different, later scene so it worked out. I didn't intend for the "i'm empty" thing to get so carried away but after a couple chapters of Steve hinting at exactly that, I think people would have been disappointed to not get it at Christmas time.

So. Yeah. Holly Jolly and all that.

Baby!Max is AMAZING. Dustin will always be a favorite character of mine but Max is moving her way towards the top, especially with BillySteve but also? I have really great Steddie centric fic ideas that also include Max and Eddie bonding and I LOVE them.

THE PARENTS. It's weird, right? How yeah we basically hate Steve's parents more than Billy's Dad. Cos Neil is a full blown certified asshole but the utter lack of compassion or care or concern Steve's parents have for him, each other, their LIFE is baffling. It takes a certain sorta dickhead to smack a kid around, but alot of times it speaks to some sort of trauma/issue/struggle in the abusers life (not excusing, just mentioning). But to have a child and then proceed to never ever give a single shit about them? To live your own life and treat a child as an inconvenience? To make huge decisions that negatively impact your kid and then not give a shit cos you've been so checked out for so many years it doesn't even occur to you to CHECK IN. Fuck those people, man.

Listen, I am ULTRA soft for Billy having gifts for Steve. Not only because it seems sort of Un-Billy like to buy presents when he's probably never received a half decent present himself, but also because he doesn't have a lot of money while Steve has ALOT of money so the gifts are more heartfelt vs shiny? I adore him finding all this gentleness inside him.
