Join us this coming Thursday at the Rayvolt heaquarters in Bird street Stellenbosch to celebrate the Class of 2020. Stellenbosch Salon features some of the best work from Stellenbosch University fine arts graduates of 2020. These talented artists had to endure the Corona induced madness that swept the globe and still managed to come out on top. In stead of caving under the pressure they used the pandemic as a tool for creativity. Works on display feature a plethora of individual artistic interpretations ranging from the return to nature for inspiration, the investigation of the mind and the self and the expressions of individual and shared experiences. Featured Artists: Genevieve Fatzer Gareth Bekker Jean-Marie Malan Alexander Jürgen Maritz Gerben Meiring Zoë Chowney Under curatorship of Tiaan van Deventer and Gerben Meiring. . . . . #genevievefatzer #garethbekker #jean-mariemalan #alexmaritz #gerbenmeiring #zoechowney #stellenboschsalon #classof2020 #stellenboschart #gradshow #exhibition #art #kunst #kingsbridgeart #ridetherayvolution (at Rayvolt South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPNsDQfpv94/?utm_medium=tumblr

Gerben Meiring hails from Pietermaritzburg, and is interested in the processes of creativity and the experience of art-making through painting, photography and sculptural endeavour. He explores the practice of action painting through investigations in oil on canvas and the peculiarities of the medium through action on the canvas plane. He is co-curator of the Stellenbosch Salon Class of 2020 exhibition and eager to discuss the artworks on display. ***Join us tonight at 19:00 @rayvoltsouthafrica in Bird street Stellenbosch for an opening event that will blow you away. *** . . . . #gerbenmeiring #stellenboschsalon #classof2020 #art #kunst #fineart #painting #exhibition #kingsbridgeart (at Rayvolt South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPYDzGoJvhZ/?utm_medium=tumblr

This stunning artwork by Jean-Marié Malan is currently on show at Rayvolt Stellenbosch. Her work is greatly influenced by the Minimalist art movement of the 1960s. Repetition of line, the grid, geometry and a focus on material qualities give structure to the otherwise elusive exploration of her practice. In her own words: "I draw on ideas of dance as I move through space and time with my sculptural objects forming temporary attachments". . . . . #jean-mariémalan #minimalist #art #kunst #blackframe #stellenboschsalon #stellenbosch #classof2020 #kingsbridgeart (at Rayvolt South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPWSjkpp-6H/?utm_medium=tumblr
