So happy that Sinnoh Elite Fours are all great, and they're in general pool too! Glad that general pools are getting these great units. I especially like Bertha and Lucian. Sandstorm Stall and Hail Stall have actually been a thing. Here are some video references.
Sandstorm Stall: https://youtu.be/CUw3TpEHjJE
Hail Stall: https://youtu.be/z79E8LhGYTo
I tried the Sandstorm Stall with the exact same team against Poison-weak Blue a while back, and even without Permanent Field Effect parameters like in the video examples, it worked smoothly!
But with Bertha, Sandstorm Stall is even more possible now. I also can't wait to use her against Moltres alongside Subway Bros whenever it gets a rerun! Lucian is the Sp. Def debuffers that we all need, and he has great sync nuke too. Aaron seems great, but I'm still not too sold on him yet, I might need to see him in practice.
Can't wait to duo Cobalion with SS Morty and Anni N. I'm happy that my man is great, it's what he deserves.
My big question is SS Giovanni. I know he's great, but SS Serena has been clearing Ground-weak stages no problem. She can't take benefit from Ground gears, but she's already so powerful. I guess he's a great counter for Tapu Bulu and Regirock? Since you also have SS Serena (EX, and I'm assuming 3/5 too?), do you think SS Giovanni is still worth the pull?
Will definitely take a look at those when I’m home. Is it Zinfogel? Dude’s galaxy brained, I swear.
I’m happy with them. Lucian is the best overall utility, but I’m most excited by Bertha. Aaron is just Hop with less healing potential and slower defensive support, in exchange for accuracy buffs and a high flinch rate. I don’t think he’ll be incredible, but Precision Pals is 100% aces and a very real claim to fame, due to how well it supports Kris, Spring May, Bruno, and any other physical attackers with middling accuracy I’m not remembering.
Giovanni is likely better Ground damage than Serena solely due to Hit the Gas Mega Kick being insane, and having sync damage. The added Poison and Steel coverage is also really valuable. To be direct, yeah I think SS Giovanni is super good. But I don’t know if he’d be considered a must have. SS Serena is still fine for Ground damage, and we have a solid Steel type in Solgaleo. The Poison damage is the most novel thing in Giovanni’s kit, but the Max move is…funny because special attack. His biggest selling point is just that he’s perfectly self sufficient in Gauntlet and has free pick of supporters, and has solid coverage options on rare move types. But he’s not especially fast and has Hit the Gas, a notoriously painful combo to have.
I think he’s worth it but Morty’s probably better.

I reached 8.450 points this week. Koga is so good, I should use him often. Also, striker Gyarados is too damn powerful.
Tumblr media
The highlight to this week's run is Koga, and 3* Striker Gyarados who took down Flint pre-sync.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Double sync buff parameter means it's time to use my 3* Striker Gyarados alongside 6*EX support that can top off Gyarados' buff! Except I realized that Flint debuffed Special Attack on entry. That's okay, though. Even without capped Special Attack buff, after Leaf sync-ed and May set up rain, Gyarados just dished 15k Hyper Beam damage. Flint went down so quick! Until the sides used Heat Wave and Gyarados got one-shot. Not a problem. May finished the fight safely. Can't believe an Eggmon dealt a damage that's comparable to 5* sync pairs, at 3*! That's nuts.
Lucian's stage was the only stage that had capped points, because that's just how powerful SC Subway Bros were. Aaron helped Emmet to buff defenses for Rising Tide and for himself, so Emmet could focus on attack buffs and nuked the heck out of Lucian. Ingo was just doing Ingo things. I'm glad to have Aaron, and I'm glad that he had great synergy with SC Submas, even only at 1/5. I also felt confident in running half HP parameter here because Aaron has Heal Order and Shared Heal, which is great. Aaron is so good.
Aaron's fight was the roughest once again for me. He had tons of HP, and finishing the battle pre-sync was mandatory. If he didn't get trapped, it's difficult to wear him down. My usual dual-strike team didn't work, so after many resets and parameter adjustments, I brought Viola to trap. After lifting a lot of pressure and parameter adjustments, thankfully the team managed to clear pre-sync, just barely. Maybe I really should get SS Giovanni or Maxie, huh...?
In Bertha's fight, I brought SS Erika+SS Morty combo, the tried and true double sun team. SS Erika is also gridless, but she managed to clear the fight safely pre-sync, with the help of SS Morty and Bugsy's defensive debuffs. I probably should have brought Mallow or Brendan for faster clear, but I didn't think of that during the fight. Oh well. At least this team cleared it.
And finally, Cynthia's fight. I was going to stall it out, but I realized, that I haven't used Koga that much. I raised him to 5* and I should use him. I brought Falkner for quick buffs, and SS Leaf for quick toxic spread. This fight took two resets for MPR on Koga and Falkner's trainer move, as well as Leaf's immediate toxic proc, but it was worth it. I also chose the debuff parameter to rack up Koga's damage, and the team cleared the fight pre-sync. Koga was a lot of fun to use! I'm glad for this opportunity.
All in all, yet another challenging, but fun run! Aaron continues to be the threat for me, but I like him, so he deserves it. Hope I can be better next time!
