        this is a hard question - especially because every time something new gets revealed about pinhead / elliot, it tends to just be generally fucking AWFUL. i wish barker would reveal less about pinhead, actually. but, even assuming that clive, hypothetically, has some vague amount of competency when it comes to handling his characters, i still don't know that i would want to know more about elliot. i think the vagueness and unintentional, miserable inconsistency regarding his character gives me enough wiggle room to do whatever i want with them. maybe it would have been nice to have more information about them as a person, or even to just see them acting as a captain or interacting with other people, but i'm doing okay without them!

genuinely, what doug said about elliot here has affected my portrayal more than anything clive has tried to say about him after the fact.

"a perpetual, unconscious grieving for the man he had once been, for a life and a face he couldn't even remember." GOD. i am going to throw up. i'm in shambles. compare these statements with the comics (2011) or with tsg. the author can gladly keep his thoughts to himself
