I don't rlly like how this turned out, BUT I tried ;- ;

Taking a majority of my art off tumblr for now. Fuck AI

(I've never done this before so hopefully I'm doing it right) As requested by @aspirationatwork- [Image ID: A picture of a tall deity named La Muerte is dancing with a human, or human-like person, up in the air. also rough draft ver which I junked cause 1 + it looked bad 2 I ACCIDENTALLY USED THE WRONG PEN TOOL AND IT HAD ALL THESE WEIRD PIXELS AND I COULDN'T SALVAGAE IT AAAA

i heard the new synthesizer - v AI announcement ( i think it was last week? ) ... and spent said last week drawing this ... not my best work but i like how it turned out ♡

i also tried a newer artstyle and experimenting with it , i'm still trying to explore my potential 💦 i'm proud of how it looks currently ..!

also , very sorry for the slow updates ... i am undergoing graduation finals !! i will start posting regularly again next week hopefully ... thanks for your patience !

Thoughts before 10am

I feel alone when I think having a character fully masked and clothed actually makes them better. Like the actor is able to emote better, they can show what the can do through body language, and even use the costume to their effect. But when I see the failure that was the Halo show and them saying “People won’t be able to identify or understand them if their face is covered.” Like.... I’m sorry? Who the F&$@ do you think you are?! You have a popular established character who is recognizable over the fact that their face is never revealed. Master Chief’s whole character is being stoic and driven by his mission at hand. If you really REALLY wanted to show more emotion, then focus on CORTANA!!!! You know, the snarky smarty pants AI who you even went so far as to get the OG VO actress to be in person. I have so many more gripes with the HALO show alone, even without being a big Halo nerd, I can see bullshit when I see it. That’s not counting the $@% scene with chief and that bullshit with Cortana puppeting his dead body. The Whole point of us needing to see a physical face in media comes from a desire to relate to a character or figure. There are some cases when it is necessary, like for serious more melodramas. But if you have a character and their face is masked, instead of just unmasking them, just play around with it, have the character act out more, there is potential with having characters like that. And I don’t mean just make them a comic relief, but an actual character. Now here is where I reveal my bias on the matter or masked characters. I grew up on not only Power Rangers, but a love of theater. Nowadays there are videos of broadway or play performances of proper closeups and details of the actors, but when I was younger, the only way to see a performance was to be there in person. Most of the time our seats were all the way in the back or on the balcony, so we couldn’t see the faces that well. So thinking back to those performances I wold always remember what the actor’s and actresses wore and how they moved. In terms of Power Rangers, I always understood and related more when their faces were covered. They always felt more Lively and active when they were Morphed. I’ve alreayd taken alot of time so I’ll end it with this. Hope in the future we get more respect to costumed/ fully masked characters in the future. *edit: I say thought before 10 am but only get around 10:40 before posting. facepalm
