anyway, let’s talk about eigengrau and unfinished’s friendship! unfinished has an unlit (spawnproofed!) concrete box in the sky that’s basically, for all intents and purposes, eigengrau’s only form of proper housing?

(really, now that i think about it, what unfinished needs on alexcrafter’s pc is a command block to set the “world”, as it were, on peaceful, so that we needn’t bother with lighting or spawnproofing for hostile mobs, but that’s a diversion)

unfinished made a concrete box, managed to figure out how to consistently "summon" eigengrau, and since then has been bringing eigengrau furnishings for the box. on one occasion, he just brought the entire minecraft block into the box and had eigengrau pick out a bunch of stuff it wanted, as well as some stuff for the road! (so many gapples)

unfinished has been working on a way to make it so that an observer, or a camera of some kind, can kind of observe the pitch black so that eigengrau doesn't have to worldhop so much, or at all if it doesn't want to, but the color eigengrau is an eyeball phenomena, pretty organic thing.

so...unless we want to do some animal cruelty and keep a mob in a pitch black box with eigengrau (which might also not work, unless it was a sentient or hostile mob? (like the ones from the monster school episode) and unfinished's mob-wrangling skills are really bad anyway (if it wasn't clear from the whole 'hiding on a nerdpole of dirt from zombies thing')), or maybe develop a biomechanical eye (or import one from another game), we're not getting anywhere.

unfinished has just been testing it out any time he's had to end an eigengrau visit- worst-case scenario, nothing happens other than what was already going to happen. it's a little bit of unintentional angst, though, giving eigengrau that false hope. sad, that.

oh, yeah! i dont know if this was ever a question, but yes! eigengrau can understand english! its creator (haha, imagine loosing track of your stick a mere three months after creating it) gave it an innate sense of the language, much like how second could talk english at alan despite only existing for, like, one youtube video of length. (i dont remember how long that video was off the top of my head, sue me)

eigengrau hasn't ever really spoken english, and to be honest every instinct instilled within it since birth has been for it to be as quiet as humanly possible (btw, its movements dont make those whooshy noises the sticks do in canon) so its a stick of very few words, but it understands unfinished just fine!

anyway, in the meantime, unfinished has also been working on a sewing project. it's a bit difficult to take measurements of an extremely tall creature in pitch darkness, but he's made do. he can float. he's just making a nicer cloak, anyway, the one it has now is a little bit worn-down.

the meetings happen once a day, just about. sticks don't seem to need to sleep, so unfinished just heads into the box while alexcrafter is sleeping.

alexcrafter...may or may not...not? know? that eigengrau...exists?

unfinished never meant to keep that secret! it just...kind of...happened?

(unfinished will literally tell alex that he's going to the wedding of two wanted criminals (/lh. are they wanted, now that i think about it?) without supervision, which is an infinitely more tenuous topic, but not about this weird friend he's made. figures.)

(he's not doing it on purpose, i swear! don't read too deep into that, he honestly didn't mean to!)
