the main premise is that after sonic unleashed, sonic not only stayed a werehog, but his transformations slowly got worse and worse until he started losing himself

when not transformed he looks like this, a mix of day and night sonic

he starts wearing silver wrist rings, which have a similar purpose to shadows limiter rings. instead of limiting his chaos power, it actually weakens him in general when he transforms.
