Angela nods in agreement, sighing softly as she glances about the abandoned Overwatch facility. It was sad to see how it had deteriorated - everything covered in dust. A group of agents had come here searching for old files and anything else that they could recover to bring back to Overwatch’s new base of operations, and when Carlos had volunteered to help, nobody saw a reason to deny him.

“Indeed. If only all of them were good.” She muses. Glancing across to him, she smiles somewhat bittersweetly. It was odd to see how much he had grown since she last saw him, and was just as odd to see him here, in an Overwatch facility. After everything that had happened with his father, she wouldn’t have faulted him for wanting nothing to do with the organisation. Crossing the room, she gently rests a hand upon his shoulder.

“Come on, help me search these cabinets. There must be something in here that we can bring with us.”

I have done nothing here today in terms of writing. However, all but two of my muses now have their icons finished. Just lacking Sam and Callie. If anybody wants anything with any of them at @someonehastodosomething , just let me know!

After work tomorrow, I have three days off. I am absolutely getting some writing done. My level of muse [ for all of my Overwatch babies, except the Shimada brothers for some reason] continues to be through the roof, but my focus is Shot.

Mei sniffles softly, wiping the tears from her eyes with her arm before glancing up to the omnic from her position on one of the garden’s benches. She hadn’t expected anyone else to be out here at this time of day, usually coming out here to sit amongst nature and be alone with her thoughts, but it seemed that Zenyatta had found her.

She didn’t know the omnic monk well, but after he had helped her with the injuries she had sustained protecting a village in the Himalayas, she greatly respected him - and if anyone had to see her like this, she didn’t mind it being him. “Xiè xiè...” She thanks him for his compassion, offering a weak smile. She glances down to her lap then, where she fiddles absentmindedly with her glasses.

“I was thinking about my friends. The ones who didn’t survive cryostasis like I did...” She begins quietly. “Every time I think of them, I always remember--” She cuts herself off, flinching - it hurt too much to speak of the condition she had found them in. The images forever seared into her brain.

“I just-... Sometimes I wonder why I was the only one to survive... Why did everyone else’s pods malfunction, but mine didn’t? It-... It isn’t fair. They should be here...”

All Angela wanted right now was to sleep. She hadn’t slept properly in a nice warm bed for getting on two days now, with one matter after another requiring her attention and work and patients that needed seeing to. She tried to push through it - as she usually did - but the lack of decent sleep was beginning to catch up with her, making her movements sluggish.

She almost didn’t notice when she tripped on her own foot walking down the corridor, but snapped out of it upon feeling herself begin to fall. She holds out her arms to brace herself, but instead finds that someone else had stopped her fall. Blinking, she looks to them before straightening her posture, offering a sheepish smile.

“Oh! Pardon!” She apologises, slipping briefly into her native tongue. “I’m alright. Just a little tired, I suppose.”
