ok fuck i'm not done talking about this yet. i grew up with diamond and pearl and i've been a pokemon fan my entire life, but xy was where i really properly entered the fandom. like god. i rewatched that gamexplain xy trailer analysis video so many times. i snuck into the computer shack at boy scout camp because i heard a new pokemon (honedge) was revealed and i needed to check serebii right now. i was in the trenches fighting about what type sylveon was. remember when someone saw trevenant for the first time at some preview event, but couldn't share any images so all we had to go off of was their drawing of it? kalos brings me back to such a happy time in my life as a pokemon fan, and i've really been feeling the pangs lately to get my 3ds fixed so i can revisit it. getting an entirely brand new kalos sequel on the switch??? we're not gonna be getting any more trailers any time soon, but i'm gonna be able to ride this high for a while.

Symbiotic Tinkatink
Tumblr media
“It’s said this variant of tinkatink came to be when one lost their hammer and used a honedge as a temporary replacement out of a sort of desperation until it was found. It was not a temporary replacement.”
“For a long time it was unknown as to why tinkatink remains unharmed wielding honedge until it was recorded stealing the life force of steel types that would bully tinkatink. It is now understood they hold a type of mutualistic relationship.”
(Note: I thought putting the sheath on the hair would look good. It did not. I did not want to draw it again so just pretend it’s on tinkatink’s arm instead)
Symbiotic Tinkatuff
Tumblr media
“While it does let go of the doublade it wields, there hasn’t been a single recorded case of the cloth attatched to the hilt unraveling from tinkatuff’s arms. Some believe the cloth fuses with the Pokémon but what can happen with their evolution shows otherwise”
“Sometimes tinkatuff will go out of their way to hunt down steel types regardless of whether or not they have done anything to it. They’ve been seen helping symbiotic tinkatink in hunting down steel types”
It’s not shown that great on paper but this tinkatuff is supposed to look a little more purple than average
Symbiotic Tinkaton
Tumblr media
“While any tinkatuff is capable of evolving into tinkaton, only the ones aegislash recognizes as a good leader appear to last long. As these aegislash’s cloth is pinker than average it’s not hard to tell which one used to come from an unworthy tinkaton.”
“While these tinkaton appear more calm than their regular paldean counterparts, they do still have a daring streak in them. Symbiotic and non symbiotic tinkaton often tend to have a rivalry with each other, usually friendly but there have been exceptions.”
Based off an ask someone sent to @adobe-outdesign about this very concept that my brain immediately latched onto

[A thudding on the roof of the scam van can be heard, and upon opening the back of the van a Dustox with a scarred wing flutters in, settling down on the mattress and allowing two (2) packages to be retrieved, one addressed to Marny and the other to Ray.
The package addressed to Ray is wrapped in a brown paper and string, but has had yellow markings that are vaguely reminiscent of their tattoos doodled on it in what looks like yellow marker. Inside there are a variety of fruits and berries, a chocolate bar, a tin of what look like homemade gummies that have a sweet-peppery scent, a bundle of lavender colored incense and a completely unsuspicious jar of pecha flavored poffins. There is a note attached.]
Ray,
I was out at the market district this morning and I thought I might put together a bit of a care package for the two of you, since I've been wanting to mail something anyways. Just my way of saying I've been thinking of you I suppose.
I have finally finished a bit of a project I've been working on ever since that first time I saw you in the scam van. I see how much stress that motion sickness puts you through and I though maybe I could find some way to help with that. the gummies are made with that meganium tea, and I've been doing a lot of testing to try to find the right dose to calm the nerves and effects without adding too much in the way of drowsiness. Well, unless that's what you need. It's one for the nausea, two for sleep. I was hoping perhaps this might help with the nightmares too, as it does for me, but you'll have to get back to me on that.
It's also much easier to get a wide variety of fruits and such here, it's been a very interesting experience, so I picked up a few more unusual ones for you. And of course everyone deserves a treat now and then, yeah? I heard the poffins were good as well, so I thought I would send some too, do let me know how you like them.
Yours,
Amy.
P.s. The incense is for Nerve. I thought you might be running low, so i picked some up. I hope it's the right kind.
[A letter is sent back in return. It is sent on harbor mail—likely left over from when they were spending time in Slateport. Inside the envelope with the letter itself are a few pressed Kalosian flowers and small clippings from old local newspapers. They're mostly cutouts of the pokemon photos and drawings within.
The letter itself has a few tear stains on it. Seems someone got a little emotional.
The letter reads as follows:
"Amy,
Thank you. Thank you so much. I was running out of incense to burn, and this will definitely soothe things until I can find the herbs needed to make my own again. I'm sure she would love it. If her spirit still carries on these winds, I hope she can feel it. It seems to help quite a bit with the shadow effects too. Funny how, even in passing, she still helps me breathe.
I'm a bit nervous about these gummies. Not just because of your cooking skills, but because I don't know how I'll do with them. I remember I had a much stronger reaction than either of us expected the first time you gave me Meganium tea, and though I don't remember much after that, I at least had your arms to wake up in. Still, I suppose medicated gummies are more of a science thing than a cooking thing, so I guess I'm going to have to trust that it'll be okay. Because you're the scientist. Maybe I can get Marny to supervise whatever happens. She could be your long-distance lab assistant. :)
I think all of us deserve a treat here. Things just keep happening all the time. Poffins are an odd find in Hoenn, but I'll be sure to get back to you on those. I'm holding onto Marny's package right now for when she gets back. She said she was going to visit her parents, insisted I should stay here so her and her new Honedge could bond more. It makes sense, I guess. It's incredibly protective of her, and having me tag along to her family's house could cause it more stress than I care to inflict. I'm still worried about her, though. I trust the Honedge to fight for her, but I'm worried that it might not be experienced enough to defend her in case something goes wrong.
I'm going to go out for a walk. I need to distract myself, and besides, I'd feel bad about spending all this time in Kalos without sending something good back. Maybe I could battle out the funds for some treats. You deserve those too :)
Clear skies be with you,
Ray
P.S: Please give Jester the biggest hug for me. She deserves it.]

Electric Trains are the Future Chapter 11: Living on the Honedge
Previous Chapter (10) - Current Chapter - Next Chapter (Unposted)
Last week we saw Ingo bond with his niece and take a tumble. This week we see Elesa have a nice conversation then watch someone take a tumble. I actually rewrote an entire scene in here just before posting so, yay?
Chapter Summary: Elesa reacts. To knowledge of the future, to absurd advice, and to a tumble. Chapter Word Count: 5836 Chapter Warning: Major Character Injury, Dissociation from an outside point of view (From the blue words to the next line break)
As always, you can read here or on AO3 with additional comments! Reblogs and comments are always appreciated. As a heads up, I may take a break from posting next week to flesh out some side-stories and give myself time to finish Chapter 14, because it's chunky.
-
“Dragons, what I wouldn’t do for some sunscreen right now,” Elesa says to herself as she climbs the mountain path, the sun beating down on her. “It’s barely summer, and I can already feel myself burning under the sun.” It was not really all that hot on the Coastlands, and the only reason she was sweating was because she was halfway up the mountain. But even so, she could feel the heat sinking into her skin and knew that if she didn’t find shade soon, she’d be the same shade of red as her uniform.
In all honesty, Elesa could’ve turned around to wait for the pair a good 10 minutes ago, but she never got to go up this cape before. She became a Security Corps member to see Hisui, to have a chance to relive some lost past of her Pokemon journey, and she was going to see Hisui while she was here.
Hopefully that wouldn’t be forever.
She finally crests the top of the path, and looks out over the coast below, looking at the golden-white sand glittering in the sun with a content sigh. The sight reminds her of Undella Town, specifically when she and Skyla had gone for their honeymoon. They spent most of their time on the beach at night, but she remembers waking up to the sparkling beach nonetheless. If there was a resort in Sinnoh in the future, it would surely be here.
Hold on.
Sitting down by the cliff, she pulls out her paper map of Hisui and a small pencil, and looks over the map. She and Ingo had already marked down several routes that they could remember from previous times that they’ve been to Sinnoh for League work. And she remembers that Cynthia had recommended a resort on the eastern coastline of the region when she and Emmet had gotten married.
She marks the resort down, which was on the border of the Mirelands and the Coastlands from what her memory told her, right in the middle of three cities and just below Lake Valor. To the west, directly south of the Solaceon Ruins, was that town where Crasher Wake lived with the Great Marsh. Straight line to the east is Sunyshore, she thinks. She remembers going over there to check the solar panel walkways and battle Volkner. It was exhilarating to fight another Electric Gym Lea- Wait.
The line ends right at the hand on the map, at the Coastlands Camp. The one that they all had ignored in favor of checking this area out. “What a load of fucking Trubbish!” Elesa smacks her pencil against the map several times before drawing a line up from the resort, and as she expects, it runs well to the west of the Spring Path lake. Even if she had it wrong where it was east to west, it still wouldn’t line up distance-wise. She and Emmet never went up to Veilstone, but she knew it was a several dozen mile trip, and the lake simply was too close.
She groans and starts erasing her new markings when she hears several sets of footsteps behind her, moments before a voice speaks up. “Well, you’re off the beaten path for Galaxy.” Elesa looks over her shoulder to see a brown haired woman in a pink tunic and wearing a diving mask around her neck, trailed by a fairly large Growlithe and an outright enormous Arcanine. “It’s usually just Akari and Rei coming this way.”
“Well, I’m waiting for the first one to come back with Ingo,” Elesa says, standing and putting her map away before approaching the woman with a wave. “I’m Elesa! I think Ingo told me about your Noble?”
The woman puts a hand up to her mouth with a small gasp, before smiling sweetly at her. “Yes, he told me about you when he was last in the Settlement. My name is Palina, and this,” she pauses for a moment to reach up and scratch the large Arcanine under his chin, “is Lord Arcanine.” The Growlithe to her side barks twice at her and lifts its legs into the air to get her attention back onto him. “And this is his dear brother and my partner, Growlithe.”
Palina crouches down to fluff her Growlithe’s fur up, causing the dog to whine happily and flop onto its side. While Palina focuses on the smaller Pokemon, Elesa reaches up and tentatively holds her hand in front of the nose of the larger one. The Arcanine takes a moment to sniff her hand, and as Palina looks up to keep an eye on Elesa, it licks her hand and gently wraps its mouth around it.
“My Lord!” Palina says, holding back the laugh that Elesa is letting out with ease. “Just because you did that at the Settlement when you were a pup doesn’t mean you should do it now!” Elesa pulls a face as she feels the Pokemon’s tongue run over her hand several times before its mouth opens back up, giving it back to her. She hesitates for a moment before wiping her hand off on Arcanine’s fur, with Palina’s nod of approval.
While his Warden approves, Lord Arcanine doesn’t as he yelps in surprise and quickly brings a paw up to wipe his own drool from his fur as the two women laugh again. “You’re just a big Lillipup, aren’ ya?” Elesa croons as she starts running her hands through the large Pokemon’s fur, causing him to melt into her touch. “Just a big Scuttlebug lookin’ for love, yes you are!” Lord Arcanine leans against Elesa as she keeps laughing, feeling her knees buckle slightly under the heavy dog’s weight.
“My Lord, I think that’s enough,” Palina says, a fond tone softening the admonishment in her words. The large dog stiffens and lifts his weight off of Elesa, stepping back over to Palina, attempting to hold a regal air. With a short look at her Noble, Palina turns to face Elesa with a smile. “You and Ingo are a lot alike, being so willing to touch and dote upon any Pokemon that walks up to you. You are good for each other.”
Elesa smiles sweetly at the statement. “Thank you so much.” Palina speaks back up before Elesa can say anything else.
“So, are you two planning on getting married?” Elesa tenses and struggles to find an answer. Yes? But at home? She could tell Palina was excited for the prospect, but there seemed to be something else on her mind as she asked. And Palina must’ve seen her hesitation, because she cuts back in. “If you aren’t planning it, that’s fine! It’s just a big ceremony for the Clan when a Warden gets married, and it helps lift everyone’s spirits.”
“Ok, so,” Elesa says, putting her fingers to her temples as she tries to collect her thoughts. “Yes, we are, but no, not here? I think?” She rubs her temples and sighs heavily. “Like, I would want my friends and family there too? We could do a small ceremony here, but we want to go home eventually I think. Well, not think, I know I want to go home, and I’m pretty sure Ingo does too. Maybe after he and Akari wrap up their work, but, just, Audino?” Elesa realizes she’s rambling and takes a deep breath before continuing. “Isn’t there anyone else in the Wardens? Why does it matter?”
“It doesn’t,” Palina says, sighing and looking away from Elesa, across the bay. “Just… Lian is still a child, Calaba’s husband died several years ago, and Gaeric is… He’s a confirmed bachelor.” She says that last part with a laugh, giving Elesa a knowing look. “His brother picked up the slack, he has 8 little ones running through the village.”
“Doesn’t stop him from being the next,” Elesa says with a huff, crossing her arms. “You also left yourself out. Ingo told me that you’re still ‘single’”, she says with quotation marks, “so unless you’re in the same position he is, why not you?”
Elesa kept her stare at Palina soft, but persistent. And finally, Palina looks away from her under the pressure, back across the bay. “Iscan and I most likely will never get to have our relationship acknowledged by our clans…”
Iscan? Akari and Ingo had both mentioned that name when planning their routes earlier, about how if they went too close to his house they would have to talk with Adaman, the Diamond Clan leader. “Oh.” Elesa rubs her hand over her mouth in thought. “Yeah, I can see how that could be an issue. But aren’t the Clans getting along more? Adaman and Ingo seem to be friendly, and Irida looks close to Adaman.”
Palina laughs ruefully at that last observation. “Yes, Irida has been trying to hide how close she and Adaman have gotten for the same reason I have been hiding my love for Iscan. Though Kamado forged peace between our Clans, and Akari brought us closer than ever through her actions and pure friendliness, I’m not sure we could get support from the elders on either side.”
“Fuck what the elders think,” Elesa says with a scowl forming on her face, giving her a resemblance to Ingo for a moment. When Palina gives her a look that says that she isn’t so sure about going with that, Elesa gives her direct eye contact. “Seriously. Go to Irida, have Iscan go to Adaman. With how those two are, they have no grounds to deny you, and from what I figured out from Ingo’s rambling about your Clan, the elders can’t overrule Irida.”
“It’s not that easy, Elesa,” Palina says with a shake of her head. “The Elders can petition to remove people from the Clan, or whip up hysteria about the whole situation. We… We might be able to convince one side, but both?” Palina grips the strap of her diving mask and sneers at the ground. “One of us could be without our home. Without our positions as Warden.”
“And even with each other, that would still be isolating…” Elesa says, nodding in understanding. “It was like that when I married my wife, Skyla.” Elesa ignores the look of confusion on Palina’s face, already knowing she’s trying to figure out the connection of Elesa having a wife and courting Ingo without the context. “We were both Gym Leaders in different cities, and while Unova isn’t the biggest region, the distance was still large enough to make us worry.”
“There was the option of moving in together, or moving to a city between us,” Elesa continues, leaning up against Arcanine as the Pokemon rests. “But that would also mean one of us likely couldn’t continue being a Gym Leader. Yes, it’s a job, but we’re a part of the community at the same time. Moving to a different town means we aren’t there to help take care of problems, or get Trainers into shape if they choose to settle down there, or even just see the same shop owners.”
“That sounds like it put a lot of strain on your marriage,” Palina says, nodding to show that she’s following along.
“It really did,” Elesa says with a bit of a laugh. “But the two of us sat down and we decided what we both wanted from life and from each other. Eventually, we came to the conclusion that we really didn’t need constant physical closeness.” Her smile fades somewhat, as she strokes Arcanine’s fur. “Being able to call her and hear her voice every night was enough for me. Just knowing I was there for her and she was there for me did wonders.”
Palina looks out over the bay, her gaze once more fixed on the opposite shore near Aipom Hill. “Iscan is there for me at any time, I know that,” she says softly. “And I will always be ready to be by his side. So…” She breathes in deep, then lets it out through her nose. “Do you think it’d be worth the risk? To tell everyone?”
“You know your desires better than I do, sweetie,” Elesa says, her smile coming back, dazzling in the sun. “I wish you luck. Hopefully we’ll get to see your wedding before we leave,” Elesa says with a smile, causing Palina to smile back and Growlithe to let out a happy bark. The Growlithe bumps up against Palina’s legs and starts trotting down the path. “I think that might be our cue, Palina. It was nice chatting, but I need to meet back up with Ingo and Akari.”
Lord Arcanine rises from where behind Elesa and starts plodding down the path after the Growlithe silently. “Yes, I should keep an eye on those two,” Palina says with a small shake of her head. “We’re going to visit my former Lord’s grave, and it seems that my current Lord is getting impatient.” She turns to Elesa and gives her one more smile. “May Mighty Palkia watch over you.”
Both women give a small wave and head in opposite directions, Palina further down the cape and Elesa back the way she came. And thus, she was left alone with the thoughts on Palina’s original question.
Hell yeah, she and Ingo wanted to get married. Just at home with their families. Not here, in a world that they didn’t have a real history in. Sigh. She wanted to have Skyla there, to see Ingo and Emmet’s mom, Eiko, to have Burgh lovingly critique her fashion choices. Sigh. She wanted to walk through the Nimbasan streets late at night, when it had quieted down enough to almost be peaceful, and the air was cold as the desert sands nearby. Sigh.
A Pokeball pops open on her waist, Skitters running off ahead of her in a hurry. Elesa gives the Emolga a small smile before following after it. “Got a Beedrill in your bonnet, Skits?” Skitters turns around to face Elesa before spinning in place and leaping into the air to glide away. “Or are you telling me to Ducklett up and follow you around for the day?” The only response Elesa gets is an excited chitter as the squirrel disappears into some trees.
“I’ll just wait here for you,” Elesa says, leaning against a tree and keeping an eye on the nearby Stantler and Glameow in the glade around her. But even with the thought of safety at the forefront, her mind still found time to wonder.
Akari supposedly had some plan to get them home, but every time Elesa had pulled her aside to ask, the teenager just clammed up and refused to say anything. They had already figured out they were from the same time period, same timeline, and all three wanted to go home. But Akari has just said to let her handle it and then ghosted the topic. Even when Elesa brought up Dialga and Palkia, she acted like it was impossible, which Elesa was living proof that it is not impossible, thank you.
After a few minutes of a silent staring contest with a Stantler, Elesa lets out a loud groan and puts her face into the palms of her hands, dragging them down her face. “Aaaahhh, ok, fine!” She straightens her posture and pops her neck before looking around for her Emolga. “I’ll talk to them when we’re back at camp. Akari owes me some fucking answers.” Seeing Skitters in a nearby tree, Elesa whistles to catch her attention, then beckons towards herself as she begins walking.
Skitters lands on Elesa’s head and begins chittering to her, causing Elesa to smile and partially divert her attention upwards and chat with her Pokemon. Even though it’s meaningless chatter, it’s enough to pull Elesa from her thoughts and let her just relax a little. But even relaxing doesn’t stop her from hearing what was ahead.
Scraping against stone, the Alpha Drapion from the shore was looking up the cliff and trying to find a way to climb. It must’ve seen Akari and Ingo make their way up there, and was trying to follow them, probably for getting so close to its territory.
She crouches down, even though there is nothing on the path to actually hide her from sight, and brings Skitters’ Pokeball up. “Get back in here, sweetie. I’ll throw you closer, and we can drive it off.” Skitters chirps a response, and reenters her Pokeball. Elesa scampers down the hills and winds her arm back, before whipping it forward and launching the Pokeball at the distracted Alpha.
The Drapion stumbles slightly, struggling to stay upright from the position it held trying to climb the cliff as the Pokeball flies back towards a now running Elesa, Skitters popping out of the ball. “Use Wild Charge!” She cries, catching the ball with practiced ease. Skitters spirals up into the air, gathering electricity around herself before divebombing into the massive Pokemon, causing a burst of electricity to give off from the pair, both hitting the ground with thuds.
“Get back in the air and ready for Acrobatics!” Elesa is sure to keep her distance from the battle as she watches Skitters pick herself up and dodge the incoming Poison Jab. Skitters climbs a few feet up the cliff before jumping off into the air, circling around the hissing Drapion before once more divebombing it and tumbling off its back into the air again.
She watched the Drapion fire off several Venoshocks, each only barely missing Skitters as she wheels through the air. “See if you can drive it off with another Wild Charge!” She can’t see Skitters react from this distance, but she sees the Emolga do a tight loop before dropping straight down onto the Drapion’s back, electricity shooting out like an overloaded generator.
“All Aboard!” The call breaks Elesa’s focus from the battle for just a brief second, glancing up to see Ingo already beginning to scramble down the cliff, with Akari climbing into Sneasler’s basket and quickly following. She looks back at the battle, just in time to wince in sympathy as Skitters is hit by a X-Scissor from the Alpha.
However, her next command was cut off by a shout from above, from Akari. “UNCLE!” Looking up, Elesa’s breath stops as she watches Ingo fall from the cliff, landing heavy on a small ledge with his extended leg, before tumbling backwards.
Without stopping to think, she throws a Pokeball towards the battle currently happening, not even seeing who she sent out as she shouts “Back her up!”, and then runs towards the cliff. As she does this, she watches Ingo hit the ground shoulder first. From this distance she can hear the snap.
She was having trouble seeing through the tears as Ingo’s head connected with the ground and his flip completed, his body sliding a few more feet from the impact point. She pays no attention to the noise of fierce battle as her Zebstrika, Denise, and Skitters drive away the Drapion. All that matters is making sure Ingo is alive. He can’t be dead. She finally found him after 3 years, he can’t be dead. Not now.
What would she tell Emmet?
She kneels down next to him, afraid to touch him, afraid to check on him, afraid of confirming that he is dead. He could not have survived that, could he? Elesa wipes away tears from her eyes to focus, to clearly see her boyfriend motionless on the ground.
Blood is pouring from the gash on his forehead, roughly an inch below what would be his unshaven hairline, streaming down his face as she just sits there. Breathe, Elesa, she can hear Skyla’s voice in her head. Whenever someone is injured, check vitals, and then check the injuries. Check… Check if Ingo is alive.
Elesa doesn’t even register that the sound of battling has stopped, or Sneasler finally coming down a few feet away, as she forces her hand out to feel the side of Ingo’s neck, feeling for a pulse. His skin is warm under her fingertips, which she hopes is a good sign as she tries to find the pulse.
It’s there. He has a pulse. He’s breathing.
The dam breaks as Elesa lets out a loud sob, falling across Ingo. She can feel some blood beginning to seep through his coat (No, she just repaired it for him, don’t let it be ruined), but who cares, he’s alive, and she needs to cry.
Sneasler at this point screeches and runs over to Ingo, trying to get at him to check on him. Being nearly pushed aside, Elesa raises herself up to glare at the Pokemon. “You get the fuck away from him!” She knew she was being needlessly harsh with her, but she did not want to be separated fromIngo. Hell, she could barely see Sneasler or Akari through the tears as the former bristles up in anger or as the latter steps close.
“Is… Is he alive?” Akari asks softly, her voice shaking as much as Elesa’s body. “Pl-Please tell me he’s alive…” Akari sits down a few feet away from them, making sure not to invade Elesa’s space.
Elesa can’t even find words and just nods. It isn’t until Denise nudges her that Elesa realizes that she has been clung to Ingo for almost a full minute, just crying. “A… Akari. Do you have… Do you have a first aid kit?” Akari nods quietly, staring wide-eyed at Ingo’s bloodied face. Elesa holds her hand out. “Gimme. Then go find some branches. I think he probably broke a leg falling.”
Akari wordlessly hands her the first aid kit, and shudders before bolting away. Sneasler, however, stays with Elesa, squatting down across from her and looking over Ingo with a sad look, chirping quietly. Elesa tries to ignore her, not look at the sad expression on her face, not listen to her sadness, as she begins to wash the blood from Ingo’s face and hair with her waterskin.
She could see the head wound more clearly now. It was a wide gash that was bleeding pretty heavily, but it didn’t look deep, and from the gentle prodding she gave it, his skull felt intact. Good. She wraps the bandages from her own first aid kit tight around the head, the blood quickly soaking through as she adds layer upon layer.
Next was the shoulder. Lifting him slightly, she could feel the crack in his shoulder blade. Trying not to gag, she searched through her pack to find cloth to make into a sling for Ingo. All she had was a scrap of Reaper Cloth she had found the day prior, that she was going to give to Anthe to study. Getting Ingo’s arm immobilized was more important.
“I’m back,” comes the quiet voice of Akari, squatting down next to Elesa with two branches about two feet long, already pruned of additional forks. “Do you need help?” Elesa notices that Akari couldn’t take her eyes off of Ingo’s head, the blood still soaking through the bandages.
“If you want to get the splint in place for his leg, go ahead,” Elesa says, handing Akari her roll of bandages. “I’ll handle the sling for his arm.” She gently pushes the teen to look away from Ingo’s face, though Akari’s gaze trailed for a moment before snapping to his legs. Without a word, she gets to work on getting his leg immobilized.
With Akari busy, Elesa gently lifts his arm and wraps the Reaper’s Cloth around it, then ties the other end around his neck to keep it in place. She really hopes using a fucking Duslops cloak isn’t going to mark Ingo for death or anything. If it does, then she’d be at fault, and let’s get off this train of thought!
Making sure his arm is stable, Elesa leans down and kisses Ingo gently on the nose, avoiding the forehead to not get blood on her lips, and just… Staying away from his breathing for now. He needs to breathe. He needs to live.
Sitting back on her feet, Elesa takes a deep, shuddering, breath before looking over at Akari finishing the wrap on the splint. “You good there, Skiddo?” Akari doesn’t say anything, and just nods before looking back at Ingo’s face. Elesa wants to reach over and hold Akari from staring at the injury, but doesn’t get the chance when Sneasler pushes back Akari and slides her paws under Ingo, palms down so that she doesn’t cut into Ingo.
“Going to carry him?” Elesa asks softly, to which Sneasler doesn’t respond before she walks away, towards the base camp by the shore. Elesa looks over at Denise and Skitters, who were keeping distance and watching for any approaching Pokemon, before turning her full attention to Akari. “Come on.” She gently grabs Akari by the hand, and the two stand and walk off together, following Sneasler.
She wanted to be angry with Akari for this. This wouldn’t have happened if she had just sent the two of them back sooner. But… Seeing the girl so quiet and shellshocked killed those thoughts. Akari didn’t want this, and never would’ve expected it. Akari is responsible for Elesa, but for Ingo, she never would’ve wanted this to happen.
Kamado, though? Kamado pulled Ingo for this specifically, despite knowing the man was a contracted battle instructor, not a fucking surveyor. She also knew the looks of distrust that he would give her and Ingo, knowing that they were not only foreign but time travelers. And considering that Kamado always made a point to remind everyone how harsh Hisui is, she was sure he’d find little sympathy for Ingo being injured. Kamado was holding a good amount of the blame for this.
But really, deep down, Elesa knows it’s Arceus’ fault. Normally, that would just be a statement of anger in the face of a tragedy. But Akari had let slip to Ingo, who told Elesa, that Arceus is the one that sent Akari to Hisui in the first place. ‘Seek out all Pokemon.’ Arceus is probably the one who pulled Ingo here as well, for some other asinine reasoning, and now he could die.
No, stop that. She won’t let him die. Ingo cannot die.
Even with his eyes closed, Emmet could feel that the light in the hotel room was far too bright. “Volo, why are the lights on this late?” He couldn’t place it, but he felt a searing pain on his head. Not quite a migraine or a headache, yet no injury was found on the cab when he brought his hand up to smack around the site of pain.
There’s no response to his question, but Emmet keeps his eyes closed for now. Why was he in bed again? Their little group had been walking through the forest outside of Eterna City, where they were supposed to meet Cynthia. But he couldn’t remember any cliffs in the forest, yet he was sure he had fallen down a cliff.
Emmet screws his eyes tight to recall the scene. He had seen Elesa fighting a Drapion, and decided to help her. He? No, Ingo saw Elesa and decided to help. He was reckless, he didn’t follow safety checks, but thinking back, Emmet felt it too. He saw that weird Sneasel, not quite a shiny coat and five times too large. He saw the missing Champion of Sinnoh, Hikari, also racing towards the cliff, and presumably her voice as Ingo fell.
Emmet also felt the injuries. A broken tibia, a cracked shoulder blade. He could feel the pounding ache in his head, presumably from where Ingo had collided with the ground. It was only an ache, so hopefully there isn’t anything permanent. Maybe the fall knocked loose some of Ingo’s lost memories? And the feeling on his back must be roadrash of some kind.
Emmet finally forces himself to open his eyes, and pushes himself up with his go- With what would be Ingo’s good arm, and looks around the room. Ah, that explains the light, Volo and Elio must’ve brought him to a hotel and the desk lamps were shining on him. He can see Elio in a chair in the corner, feet pulled up off the ground and leaning sideways against the back of the chair as they sleep. Their Decidueye, Soren, was perched on the top of the chair, his wings draping the sides of the chair, his eyes trained on Emmet. With a short wave, Soren relaxes and draws his wings back up, and begins preening himself.
Emmet sits up, and shakes his left arm, noting that there is no pain from the injury he had felt from Ingo. Standing up, he gently hops and notes that he also has no pain from the fracture he felt. The pair had had a few moments of “twin telepathy” before, most prominently when Emmet broke an arm in school falling from a tree, but this was much more vivid than what was described to him. It worried Emmet.
Checking his Xtransceiver, he notes that it is currently 7am, which means he had slept through most of the day and all night. Easily the longest he’s slept in a year or two, even if for the wrong reasons. Emmet grabs an extra shirt from his bag, which was left by the bed, and steps into the bathroom. He takes off the dress shirt he had fallen in and tosses it aside, then washes his face and runs his fingers through his hair. He wishes he could shower, but he has things he needs to do.
As he’s throwing his clean shirt on and buttoning it up, the door opens and Volo walks in, carrying three cups of coffee. “Morning, Emmet. How are you feeling?”
“I am Emmet. I am alive.” Short and simple, he grabs his hat from the bedside table, noting that it still had some mud stains on it. Oh well, Emmet can clean that later. “What happened? I remember falling, and pain. But then I was…”
“We thought you had a heart attack with the way you grabbed your arm,” Volo says, handing Emmet a cup of coffee, which he takes and swigs, enjoying the bitter taste and the caffeine hitting his system. “You just grabbed it and screamed before collapsing. It has us both worried.”
Emmet glances over Volo and winces internally at the look of worry on his face. Part of him wanted to tell him to not worry about him, but he knows that wouldn’t accomplish anything. “So, did we get to Eterna City? Where are we?” Emmet puts the coffee cup down and starts sifting through the little kitchen area in their room, looking for sugar packets. He rrrrreally hopes that Volo used his own money, because this was a little upscale for his tastes.
“We’re at a hotel near the urgent care we took you too,” Volo says as Emmet finds his target, and dumps three packets of sugar into his coffee at the same time. “Team Galactic has an in-house doctor, and they looked you over. Said you were going through shock, and that it was probably some sort of stray Psychic-move.”
Emmet shakes his head softly, stirring his coffee. Volo doesn’t say anything, and when Emmet looks up, his partner is giving him an incredulous look. Emmet shakes his head again before looking down at his coffee. “Ingo’s hurt. That’s what happened.”
Volo looks like he’s about to say something before shaking his head and turning around. “Fuck it, not the weirdest thing I’ve heard.” Emmet keeps to himself that Volo really couldn’t say anything, being immortal. Much weirder. “Anyway, I was on the phone with Cynthia while getting coffee. She said that as long as you’re feeling up to it, we can meet her tonight.”
Emmet gives his cup a swirl before taking a long sip. “I am Emmet. You must have promised a lot of knowledge,” he says with a sly grin. Volo gives him a dead look before sighing and turning to go shake Elio awake to give them their coffee. “Besides,” Emmet says softly, his grin widening. “Now I get to tell her where her missing person is.”

someone take away my computer I have a paper due I shouldn’t be drawing my OC’s as pokemon trainers hnnn
- both of them are definitely younger in this AU, in OB they’re in their late twenties when they meet and there is a 2 year age gap, here they are both about 12 with only a few months of a gap
- Roz is a trainer with his dad’s Charizard’s baby Charmander and Kane is a former member of Team Rocket with a stolen Mega Absol
- in this au mega-evolutions are just rare and powerful evolutions, i don’t really care about the true mechanics
- They met on the road when Kane tries to steal Roz’s Honedge. They battle for it, with Roz as the victor. Kane is a bit distraught about his hurt pokemon and this prompts Roz to figure out that Kane doesn’t know what a pokemon center is and drags his ass and his pokemon over there. Kane freaks the fuck out when Nurse Joy puts his pokemon into the healing machine but after he gets them back in full health and happy, he pretty much follows Roz everywhere, starting a long emotional journey for the both of them
- currently, they are married and run a Castle Garden themed training center in Unova and host tournaments and such
- Kane loves ghost, dark, and grass pokemon plus birdish types. His team is his Trevenant, Decidueye, Bisharp, Corviknight, Lampent and Mega Absol
- Roz specializes in electric and water types. His team is his Mega Charizard, Wooper, Aegislash, Gavantula, Milotic and a Wash Rotom

S&M bro's Pokemon
AShu:
Tumblr media
I think Shu would like a loyal dog Pokemon that can be his silent partner. Having this Pokemon would help him feel less alone and it would be a comfort for him. Given this I think a Growlithe would be good for him! She is too lazy to train one, but maybe if he’s had it since he was a child the Pokemon would get to know his nature, and know that Shu needs someone by his side. The Pokemon wouldn’t be walked very much by Shu, if at all, so he roams the mansions gardens and forrest alone but always returns to his trainer. Growlithes are known for being incredibly loyal, and thats something Shu really needs.
I also think Shu would be good with a Snorlax, they are fairly easy to handle as they mainly eat and sleep and dont require much attention, however Snorlax’s need to consume 400 kg of food whenever hungry is a hassle. She tends to let it raid the kitchen whenever it wants, which lands them both in trouble with Reiji.
Reiji:
Tumblr media
A poison type Pokemon like Arbok would be most useful to Reiji because he can extract some of it’s deadly poison to use in his potion and teas. He also likes how it’s long tail can be used to tangle victims who try to run away, before using the long tail as a whip, keeping them trapped until Reiji is able to fetch his own whip to really start the punishment.
For some reason I can also imagine Reiji with an Oricorio (sensu style), it’s elegant appearance is what drew him in. It was on a ‘business trip’ he was required to attend for his father that he spotted the Pokemon. The beauty of the bird made him want to catch it, so he did using a luxury ball. With it’s Japanese style markings, and graceful etiquette it became a good companion for Reiji. It took a liking to tea ceremonies, and enjoys helping it’s trainer polish his tableware collection. When Reiji found out it was a ghost type as well as flying he was initially fearful, however after knowing his partner for quite some time he adjusted to this after a little apprehension. He even considered having it drink a coloured nectar to change it’s typing, but he deemed the other various forms to lack the elegance the Sensu style did. To this day his Oricorio is the only ghost type he can tolerate.
Ayato:
Tumblr media
Ayato dreamed of becoming a trainer ever since he was a small child, he dreamed of travelling the world and playing with his Pokemon. Cordelia would never allow that, so even on his 10th birthday he wasn’t allowed to start his journey. He was so disappointed as he was hoping to receive a Charmander and become the best trainer ever. As soon as his mother was dead he went out to get a Pokemon, skipping the starters because there ‘generic’, and wanting a super cool and powerful pokemon straight away. He now has a Pyroar, and is training it to be the best. He is a terrible trainer and can’t think up good battle strategies thus he doesn’t have any gym badges, he uses brute strength and doesn’t focus on battle plans.
Kanato:
Tumblr media
Kanato would need a submissive Pokemon who was small and cute, and didn’t bother him too much. A Teddiursa would be good for him, it reminded him of Teddy which is why he took a liking to it. As long as it was pre-trained and knew not to annoy its trainer it may have a good relationship with it’s trainer. Kanato treats his Pokemon like familiar, making it his slave and doing tasks for him. He would treat his Teddiursa to tea parties and dress it up in cute outfits. As long as it doesn’t upset him or Teddy, or evolve into an Ursaring, then it may survive.
Laito:
Tumblr media
Laito likes Pokemon because there friendly and cute, and can be submissive. They won’t leave or hurt you, and there good attracting girls/boys too! Laito is a Pokemon coordinator alongside his Serperior. He started out as a fun way to meet cute girls & boys, but he became pretty good at them and has won several ribbons. He likes the overall look of Serperior and likes seeing it’s long body have a helpless bitch entangled in it’s grip, watching them thrash about with no success, slowly being strangled by the serpents strong grip, seeing them shake in fear at the mean glare in the Pokemon’s eye and the deceitful, lustful gaze from Laito’s…that really gets him going.
He also has a ‘cute’ Pokemon for the appeal, he has this signature move when he’s flirting, where he lifts his fedora and a cute little Vulpix pops out, playing it’s role perfectly so it’s trainer can obtain their newest flirtation for the night.
Subaru:
Tumblr media
Subaru has a Mightyena, it started following him around as a Poochyenna when he saved it from a pack of Houndoom in the forrest one night. He got annoyed at the Pokemon for following him, but eventually came to not mind it. He decided to catch the Poochyenna because he was sick of it trampling his rose gardens, and scratching his coffin lid in search of him.
Ruki:
Tumblr media
His partner is a Xatu, houses it to predict the future so he can ensure he and his brothers safety, and also their plans for completing Karlheinz’s tasks are going to plan.
He also has a Noctowl whom he uses as a familiar, because of Noctowls silent flying, exceptional hearing and eyesight, and it’s wise nature it makes the perfect spy when need be. A Noctowl never lets it’s pray escape, which is something Ruki shared in common with it, it watches over anyone Ruki wishes to remain in the mansion, and ensures they are where needed to be when Ruki is busy and cannot himself. Noctowls are also known to peck people who harass it, so Azusa is constantly bothering it in order to be pecked.
Kou:
Tumblr media
Kou has a Skitty! Ruki wasn’t pleased about it but as long as it’s kept in it’s Pokeball outside of Kou’s room, and around Ruki he allows it. It took a lot of convincing but Kou insisted the cuteness of the Pokemon alongside his good looks would draw in many people and his idol career would improve! Kou spoils his Pokemon and is always buying it cute little bows and his social media is full of cute pictures of them both!
Yuma:
Tumblr media
Yuma has several Pokemon that he’s caught to help him with his garden, he found his first Pokemon, an Oddish, when he was pulling leaves in his garden and it started streaking horribly. Yuma was going to silence it, but it wriggled away so he let it go. Yuma noticed the soil was looking glossier, and healthier in patches of the garden. New flowers were blooming too, one’s he hadn’t planted, he soon realised it was the work of Oddish, and caught it and trained it to help his plants grow.
His second Pokemon is Chesnaught, he found it as a Chespin that has wondered through to his garden, and he was furious to see it had eaten some of his berries it had grown. It ran off before Yuma could harm it, he found it the next day raking the soil, attempting to cover berry seeds in the ground. Yuma saw it was trying to apologise and decided to raise it, and teach it how to garden. Once it evolved into a Chesnaught, and gained the fighting typing, Yuma used it as a sparring partner as well. After a hard day of gardening the two would blow of steam by having a ‘mock battle’ with each other.
His last Pokemon is a Mudsdale, he received it in a trade for a random Pokemon he found in the forrest. Mudsdale was excellent at plowing the fields and helping to carry the harvests, and other heavy objects. The Pokemon became very useful to Yuma and it’s docile nature lead it to become Yuma’s most trusted companion.
Azusa:
Tumblr media
Azusa has two Pokemon, his first is an Ageislash, he received it as a Honedge when he bought it in a store in the demon world, mistaking it for a knife. When he found out what it truly was he loved it even more. It’s the top ‘knife’ in his collection, and he really loves it. He had fun evolving it, and he enjoys it’s different forms and seeing how it can cut him in different ways depending on which form its taken.
His second Pokemon is a Pawniard, he read about this Pokemon in one of Ruki’s books, and went in search of one.He snuck it into the mansion and kept it hidden in his room for a while. Eventually he was caught and begged Ruki to let him keep it, after a lot of convincing and compromise he was allowed to keep it,with the rule it must wear an Everstone stone so it can’t evolve and become too dangerous for Azusa to own.

There had been a Sears though, that could potentially have mattresses, but she was too wary of it still. The hardware store had been enough of a challenge, she didn’t want to know what a big store like Sears could hold. The only other option, unfortunately, was the houses in the town. She didn’t much like the idea of using someone else’s mattress, but it wasn’t like they needed it anymore. She had broken into plenty of homes when she needed shelter during her journey, but it always felt wrong. It was pretty funny coming from a criminal, but now, after the end of the world, invading privacy seemed immoral in a way it hadn’t before. Those homes were shrines to the lives that had been lost in the war with the undead. She felt wrong disturbing them, as if they were hallowed ground. It felt doubly wrong now that she had a home of her own. When she had been on the run there had been no other option for her but to use a stranger’s house. Now it was just out of greed. Funny, that wanting a proper bed should feel greedy to her. She had gotten lucky at the hardware store and had found sleeping bags and mattress toppers made for air mattresses. No actual air mattresses, but the pads still made her pile of crates a lot more comfortable. No amount of pads could make up for an actual mattress though. She didn’t feel like she deserved one. It seemed too frivolous to spend time on. But she’d need blankets and warmer clothes if she was going to make it through the winter in the valley the town resided in. The mountains would keep the chill in, more so than she was used to. Sears would be the best place for both, if it wasn’t overrun that is. She was pretty sure the town had been evacuated, but Sears would have been a big draw for anyone who had stayed behind. It could be full to the hilt with zombies and she wouldn’t know until she was inside. She doubted Charizard could fly safely in there, and there would be so many places that she could be ambushed from, between the aisles, dressing rooms, displays, the different floors. Something could see her through one of the many windows. Windows that hadn’t been broken, a good sign that it might be okay. In fact none of the windows in town seemed to be broken. This town was so well preserved, it almost made her skin crawl. Where had they all gone? They were so secluded, how had they gotten out in time? Where were they now, had any of them survived? Corsette hung her towel up to dry and went around blowing out the candles to ready the brewery for bedtime. Luxray or Loki could help her to the bathroom if she needed it at night, it was much safer than leaving candles going while they all slept. She kept one on in the makeshift bedroom to be safe though, since Honedge could watch over that one for them.

Roleplay Server Log #165
“Stevenson and Alexine”
-A few days later-
[CP] Is grumbling and standing outside of Doc's front door.  He's not looking forwards to what he'll have to do-
-The door creaks open in front of him and there's no one on the other side-
[CP] Frowns- The fuck?
[Galvantula] Is clinging to the ceiling above the door and trying not to snicker.
[CP] Sighs and decides to be safe to teleport inside and away from the door-
[Galvantula] Closes the door again, its fun a little bit spoiled. It flicks a tiny tongue at Cp- pppht!
[CP] Flips the pokemmon off before heading for the vine room, looking for TLOT-
[Dolly] Is putting a fishing rod back on the wall. Her manner is chipper.  - Hey tall, dark and intimidating, what's new?
[CP] Scowls- Fuck off, I'm not looking for you
[Dolly] Are you sure? You seem to be looking for something, and that's the face of a man with a crowded, albeit square, head.
[CP] - It's none of your business, but TLOT's
[Dolly] Ah, then I am who you want to see. I know where the armored brine is lounging.
[CP] - I don't need your help
[Dolly] Examines him, - you know I did go to school. And I've seen many a friend struggle with papers that needed to be presented. You have that look about you. Do brine's have homework?
[CP] - No, but I do have to put up with Hera's bullshit idea of a coronation...
[Dolly] Ah, so the king of the Nether has kingly duties beyond ordering monsters about?
[CP] - Shut up
[Dolly] Makes a placid face- As you wish. Hmph
[CP] - Now to fucking find TLOT...
[Dolly] Notices the galvantula on the ceiling and reaches up with a berry. The pokemon accepts it greedily. Then she notices Cp's sword and moves around a bit to get a better look at it. - Is that one... alive too? It's looking at me.
[CP] - Yeah, pretty much forced to wear it...
[Dolly] Oh, well it's nice looking at least - she offers it a berry as well.
[Honedge] Unwraps it's sash a bit to take the berry-
[Dolly] Good.. uh, sword.
[Honedge] Humms happily-
[CP] Sends out a mental burst for TLOT=- Oi, where are you?
[TLOT] Sends one back - Cp? I'm on the middle floor of the shrine.
[CP] - You better have fucking clothes on- Starts heading for the kitchen route
[TLOT] mental response - Well yeah, I'm not an exhibitionist. It's all windows up here.
[CP] Enters the shrine and flies up to the second floor-
[Steve] Is lounging against a pedestal where a glass block is holding a small universe, he's nibbling on a ham sandwich.
[TLOT] Is arranging a bunch of Lie's flowers in a decorative vase with a small placard saying what they're for. Only the lust flower is isolated. It's in the center of another block of glass.
[CP] - The fuck are you two assholes doing?
[TLOT] That's a bit rude. Just tidying up and adding a few things to Doc's collection.
[Steve] Want a sandwich?
[CP] - No
[TLOT] You should have a look around, you hardly ever come up here.
[CP] - I don't care
[TLOT] Sourpuss.
[CP] - Besides, I need you to do something
[TLOT] Hmph. Is that so?
[CP] - It's a....  Favor...  Of sorts...
[TLOT] His eyebrows are trying to hide in his hair and Steve freezes with his sandwich halfway to his mouth. - Are you feeling okay?
[CP] - Oh shut up, I'm fine!
[Steve] Grins. - you always are.
[CP] - I need you to...  Write, something for me...
[TLOT] I... why me?
[CP] - Because I can't think of a fucking speech to save my life
[TLOT] A speech? What, for the coronation?
[CP] - No shit sherlock
[TLOT] I'll do my best. I'm kinda honored you asked even though you seem desperate.
[CP] - Shut up, I am not desperate!
[TLOT] There's nothing wrong with asking for help... Doc wouldn't have been a bad choice either, they're pretty good at making impassioned speeches. But I can guess how you'd feel about asking them...
[CP] Growls a little-
[TLOT] Looks innocent. - I'll work on it. How much time do I have?
[CP] - However fucking long you need, I am in no rush to have this happen
[TLOT] Pfft. Okay. I'll get back to you. I'm sure you have lots of other important things to work on.
[CP] Grumbles-
[CP] Turns and storms out of the shrine-
[Zeke] Is sitting at the kitchen table playing with Doc's Goomy and reading a small book.
[CP] Storms in still grumbling and deciding to raid Doc's kitchen as well-
[Zeke] Starts a bit and gives him a hopeful smile. His voice is as musical as ever. - Hello Cp. Nice day isn't it?
[Goomy] Goooo. - at the Honedge-
[CP] - Would be better without all the paperwork...  Oh, and Doc wants you to check out the dragon Splender hatched
[Zeke] Really? Is it just an aesethetic thing? And if you need help with some kind of homework, I'm pretty good at it. - shyly- Home-schooled, you know? -he's reading a book on theoretical math-
[CP]- It's not fucking homework!  And we think this dragon has fangs, but we don't know if it's venomous or not
[Zeke] Shrinks a little - Oh! You need me to milk a viper?
[CP] - No, a baby dragon
[Zeke] I don't get it. You want me to get a sample of the venom right? I'm assuming it's snakelike or you wouldn't ask?
[CP] - The fuck should I know?  I didn't get close to the feather ball
[Zeke] It has FEATHERS? Okay now I just want to see it.
[CP] - Well then go talk to Doc about taking you over to Splender's- Steals a bit more than half the food in the kitchen just to piss people off
[Zeke] Okay, I'll tell them you raided the kitchen too. That's odd for you anyway. You don't have a tapeworm or something do you?
[CP] - You will not tell them I raided the kitchen and I'm just in a pissy mood and I'm still a griefer
[Zeke] Oh, sure -is totally lying- I can see that. It seems to be a local pastime.
[CP] - Good, now shut up- Starts leaving after filling his inventory
[Zeke] Intentionally brushes Cp with something too fast to see and breaks out in the flaming cat tattoo again. He's intending to show Splender.
[CP] Teleports away, not wanting to deal with Doc's pokemon again-
[Zeke] Heads upstairs and greets his mom. - Mom, have you seen Doc? Oh and tell one of the brines that Cp raided the kitchen, okay?
[Dolly] That's diferent, and I'll take care of it. I've been meaning to head over to the village today anyway. Also, Doc is up in the horse pen dear.
[Zeke] Thank you- Hurries along.
[Doc] Is moving some blocks around to make the pen a little bigger. - Oh, hey Zeke - looks down- Cp came by?
[Zeke] Ate and ran actually. Can you take me over to Splender's house to see his new dragon?
[Doc] Sure.
[Zeke] Cp said you wanted to see if it was venemous. I need some kind of a jar, paper and a string.
[Doc] Easily done. - After some fiddling in trunks the two set out across the yard to see their Slender neighbor
[Splender] Is sitting in the middle of his house with the dragon in his lap while EJ and Sally work on a puzzle-
[Doc] Calls out from the edge of the water,- Splender? Are you home? I brought Zeke.
[Splender] - I'm here!  Come on over!
[Doc] Pulls the lever to raise the path and the two walk over.
[Zeke] Hello Splender! I have something to show you too. - His manner falters a bit as he notices Ej
[Splender] Looks up and see's the tattoos- Oh that's so cool!
[EJ] Scoffs at Zeke-
[Zeke] I had a brush with Cp, I thought you'd think it was neat.
[Splender] Nods happily-
[Doc] So can we see the baby? And do they have a name yet?
[Splender] - Er, no, they don't have a name yet...  Naming things is hard...  But here!  You can look at it!- He holds the baby up as it hisses and growls and tries clawing at Splender.  With it's wings not tucked up against it's body they can see it's rather sleek in build
[Doc] Here you go Zeke. I defer to the expert. - Hands him a jar with a sheet of paper tied flat over the opening.
[Zeke] Blushes- I'm not an expert, I just read a lot... Can you set them down Splender? I'll have to do this quickly.
[Splender] Sets the baby down and it hisses at the visitors, it's tail lashing about like a whip-
[Zeke] It is beautful... so much fire for such a little critter.
-Baby growls-
[Zeke] Sets the jar down and rushes the baby, he throws one leg over it's body and grabs just below the head. With a quick movement he guides the dragons strike so that the fangs pierce the paper and stick down into the jar. He gives the glands a gentle squeeze to make the venom squirt.
-Not much comes out as the baby struggles against Zeke, it's lower jaw having unhinged from it's upper to give it the biggest bite possible and to make room for it's fangs to swing down and forwards-
[Zeke] Just a little huh? - Lets the head come unclipped from the jar but now isn't sure how to get off without being attacked - Um... can someone grab them again so I can get up safely?
[Splender] - Sure!-  His tendrils spring out and gently wrap around the baby
[Zeke] Thanks. Doc do you have the blood sample I asked for?
[Doc] No, we can just use some of mine. - They pull out a small scalpel.
[EJ] - That better not be my scalpel
[Doc] I have my own thank you. - They make a small slice bettween two pixels on their arm and let a little dribble fall in the jar.
[Zeke] Starts swirling the venom and the blood together. It very, very slowly starts to thicken.
[Splender] Watches, just fascinated-
[Zeke] Breathes- pit viper... It's not much now, but holy hell... that one is going to have a lethal bite when it's bigger...
[Doc] It's coagulated.... it looks like jelly.
[EJ] - Yes but you can draw out the venom again most likely and use it to make an antidote too
[Splender] - What's a pit viper?
[Zeke] It's a type of venemous snake. It's got little sensory organs on it's head that look like pits, hence the name. But the venom makes blood turn to thick paste, it's super lethal and incredibly painful around the bite. Your dragon has the typical traingle head they have too.
[SPlender] - Hmmm, maybe that's why it tickled a little when I got bit yesterday?
[Zeke] TICKLED?
[Splender] - Mmhm!
[Doc] I really hope they can be reasoned with when they're older....
-The baby hisses and tries backing out of Splender's tendrils, giving them another bite-
[Splender] Pats it's head- Hush now, it's okay, no need for biting
[Zeke] Has broken out in a pattern of distant stars, bloody black dribbles, scales and feathers all along his forearms. - Wow...
[Splender] - Oooo!  That's a pretty pattern too!
[Doc] you got both the style of the dragon and a taste of the barren world it came from. The night there is never ending.
[Splender] - So much star gazing!
[Doc] is fussing with the jar and manages to separate some of the contents to get a few pixels of venom. - This is going to be an interesting challenge... I've never made antidotes for snake poisons before...
[EJ] - Use horses
[Doc] Horses?
[EJ] - It's how it's done in the real world.  A small, non lethal amount is injected into a horse.  The horse then creates a resistance to it, an anti venom which can be isolated and used after bleeding the animal.  Since they are such large creatures, they can usually get enough for one human per horse
[Zeke] Splender will likely have built up a tolerance before their first growth spurt...
[Splender] - Oh, we slender beings are naturally resistant to all sort of things including poisons and venoms
[Doc] Fascinating! Time to go bug Lie, since she's the worst horse hoarder on the seed. Haha
[Zeke] But you said you did feel a little something
[Splender] - Oh yes, it tickles, but that's all
[Doc] Ej... is there anything else you can tell me about the anti-venom? I'd prefer not to kill one of Lies horses accidently.
[EJ] - No, I only know the basic premise of the practice, but it's the most common one used
[Doc] I guess we'll go over there then. Zeke? You coming with me?
[Zeke] Yes please. I haven't talked to Lie in a while.
[Splender] Waves a belled tendril at them- Bye!  Have fun!
[Notch] Walks into the main room obviously on the phone. - No, I didn't forget, I seriously, no I don't want to go drinking, don't be like that I'm not avoiding you. Fucking hell I'm just busy. Fine, I'll think of something, don't pester me. - He hangs up with a sigh and leans dejectedly against the wall.
[Lie] Is about to head out to her greenhouse and makes an "Is everything okay?" look at Notch-
[Notch] Squeezes the phone like he's choking it and then puts it away. - Jeb again...
[Lie] - What does he want now?
[Notch] It's his birthday in a few days. I can't go hang out with him and I don't even have a way to send him a present. I'm afraid he's getting suspicious
[Lie] - Ooo, yeah that would be problematic...  We could always send bitchy cat for a visit
[Notch] Funny but not helpful...
[Lie] - Hmm, well, we do know one thing he does want...
[Notch] Endless ass-kissing and praise?
[Lie] - Knowledge that TLOT and Steve are okay
[Notch] Thats a good idea.... now the question is how to deliver it....
-there are desperate bangs on the firewall something or someone wants to get in-
[Doc] Is just passing the gravestones and feels the banging.
[Zeke] Are you okay?
[Doc] I just need to let someone in, maybe. -They holler from the other side- Hello? Do you need help?
-from the other side there seems to be a male and female voice saying things like yes and quick amongst they failing to explain-
[Doc] Opens the wall and drags them in before closing it. - Oh, just a Steve and an Alex? No brine in your group?
-they look suspiously at doc before the steve speaks up- [Stevenson] I'm Stevenson and this is Alexine no but a brine is why we had to come here.
[Doc] Ah well... hm. this is a sanctuary for Herobrines....
[alexine] oh great now we are going to have to deal with more problems.
[Doc] The only problems here are the ones people bring in with them. This is place of healing.
[Stevenson] why would brines need healing they are always dangerous and over powerful
[Doc] Untrue. NOTCH AI's are oftentimes far more murderous and powerful then the brines they hunt.
[alexine] bullshit brines always came to our server putting the human souls in danger then cost us the server it's self
[Doc] is a bit huffy-  Well then maybe I should punt you two back out again. I generally only let humans in if they have a brine to be their keeper so they don't get hurt.
[Stevenson] we can't go back the server was falling apart the soul server is gone
[Doc] Then don't get snippy with me. I'm a Herobrine myself and I'm the head admin of this server.
[alexine] -seems to grumble-
[Deer] Having felt the new arrivals arrives at the spawn on her Mudsdale, the ponytas is following- Is everything alright love?
[Doc] Just some noobs with a faulty server. I don't think they knew what they were asking to get into.
[Zeke] Oh... such lovely horses!
[Stevenson] I am no noob I have never had to hit respawn for my whole existence.
[Deer] - Please calm down...
[Doc] You're a noob HERE. Duh.
[Stevenson] -growls-
[[Deer] - Why don't you two come with me, I can get you something to eat and find some rooms for you to stay in for now
[gem] -comes flying by slowly with eddy and edward on her shoulders and mimikyu in her arms-
[alexine] -sees gem and points to her- you fucker this is your fault.
[Doc] What, you know her?
[Zeke] Is quite interested in Mimikyu
[gem] -is low enough that zeke could reach mimikyu- what's going on
[Stevenson] if it wasn't for you coming into the server the NOTCH AI we had wouldn't have went after you and the soul server wouldn't have started to fall apart
[Doc] Somehow I think it's not her fault that your NOTCH is so dumb he thinks anything with glowing eyes is a brine.
[Zeke] rolls down his sleeves and brushes the Mimikyu with a fingertip.
[gem] -is looking around panicked-
[Deer] - Gem please, calm yourself, no new NOTCH's have come here
[mimikyu] -puts it's hand on zeke's-
[gem] ok so they didn't follow these two.
[alexine] but only brines have pure white eyes and only souls of humans should be able to enter the soul server
[Zeke] Can I.. uh... can I borrow your pokemon for a few minutes Gem?
[gem] sure -hands zeke mimikyu-
[Zeke] Takes him over behind the arch and shows the pokemon the haunting designs that have formed on his arms. - I get it - he whispers.
[Doc] It better not have followed them. And not all brines have white eyes either.
[mimikyu] -looks happy to see the design- mimi
[Deer] - Love, should I take these two and explain things to them?
[gem] I wasn't always a brine all space angels have glowing white eyes
[alexine] I don't believe you
[Doc] Me or Gem?
[alexine] both
[Doc] Is ruffled- What characteristic would you say defines a brine besides the eyes then?
[steveson] glitchy, going though servers, getting into the soul server, fire loving,
[Doc] Pulls out a bucket of lava-
[alexine and steveson] -they back up knowing they would burn because of the lava-
[Doc] Sticks hir hand in the bucket and stands there staring at them. - Need more proof? I don't have the white eyes, but I'm still a brine. Not all glitches are Herobrines.
[alexine and steveson] -they storm off trying to get away from the brines-
[Deer] - I'll follow them love, don't worry- She turns Mudsdale and follows the two new comers
[Doc] Puts the bucket away. - Thank you Deerheart. Just call me if they try to start anything.
[Deer] -I will!
[Doc] Good grief Gem, I can see why you didn't bring them with you.
[gem] I left the soul server as soon as the NOTCH started to chase me again and left to one of my single player worlds I never got the chance to properly know them but the soul server is also very basic this place might confuse them.
[Doc] Can I get you to keep an eye on them as well, maybe just while you're flying around? You are the closest thing they have to a native brine.
[gem] I will do my best I think they might become protective over humans being that was one of thier jobs
[Zeke] Comes back hugging Mimikyu, his sleeves are rolled down again - I love your pokemon Gem.
[Doc] I can see that getting annoying for them.
[gem] I love my pokemon too. well they didn't have to deal with people who didn't know what they are doing. the soul server gave people who love Minecraft so much a chance to live in the world they love but for the souls it was like hardcore they get one live but the steve and alex had a respawn.
[Doc] How odd. No wonder they got squiffy when I called them noobs.
[gem] it was also the reason I ended up on the server at the time I always wanted to live in Minecraft and would image what it would be like. I was also quite good at the game as well.
[Doc] I can understand that. And I'm sure Markus would give an enthusiastic hell yeah as well.
[Zeke] It's beautiful here...
[gem] even though some servers are more hostile they are still better then the real world
[Zeke] It's more forgiving too... I don't feel so... alienated.
[gem] -pets mimikyu and gives them a berry which they happily except while eddy and Edward make little noises on her shoulders-
[Doc] Zeke... if you ever need to talk to anyone....
[Zeke] I know, it's okay. It's Arden that I'm afraid to talk too. I love you guys.
[mimikyu] -finishes their berry then hugs zeke-
[Zeke] Is suprised and his neck erupts in a mostly black pattern of claws and eyes that nearly reaches his hairline. - Oh!
[gem] cool!
[Zeke] Is very embarassed. - I didn't want to! I'm sorry Mimikyu!
[Doc] I read that what they are is a secret because it can be harmful to their trainer to see it...
[gem] well if I die from seeing mimikyu and respawn I will forgive you mimikyu and still love you
[Doc] I said harmful not fatal. I think it might also be so people will preserve their privacy too
[Zeke] It's just my bodies interpertaion of what I'm contacting anyway, it's not exact or literal.
[mimiyku] -gets all happy teary eye and jumps into gem arms to hug her which gem hugs back-
[gem] so who is arden?
[Zeke] Is flustered- He's uh! He's my friend!
[Doc] Arden is the ginger kid with the staff. He's usually preoccupied with a book or watching the more unusual denizens of the seed go about their routines.
[gem] you look a little flustered zeke is everything ok?
-There's the tiniest hint of a weird smell, like spice-
[Zeke] I'm fine!
[gem] -is sniffing the air- is someone cooking I smell spice?
[Doc] I don't think so... the spawn houses are usually unoccupied and we're too far from the villlage for it to be from there.
[Zeke] I think I hear my mom calling me....
[gem] I didn't hear anything or see anything in chat?
[Zeke] Looks seriously distressed.
[Doc] If you need to pee just say so.
[gem] -giggles- if that's all you really need you didn't need to make a my mom is calling me excuse
[Zeke] Looks ready to cry-
[Doc] Just go if you need a moment.
[Zeke] Thank you! - He heads back towards the castle at a slightly off-kilter run.
[Doc] He's such an odd bird. His mom basically won't let me examine him. I care too much about not alienating Xophiel to push the issue.
[gem] it's hard to alienate someone when we are all weird in our own ways
[Doc] Xophiel? He is an angel, and could seriously fuck me over in my dealings with Slender. Best to not make supernatural enemies.
[gem] true. anyway do you have any idea for finding arden I would like to meet them?
[Doc] Hmmm, last I saw him was early this morning. Check my library.
[gem] thank you doc i'll start to look -starts to walk to the castle-
[Arden] Is sitting on the steps just outside the library, there's a book in his lap but he's more focused on watching Lapras swimming in the bay.
[gem] -walks to the library and sees arden- oh hello.
[Arden] Looks up and then gasps. - Oh my... - he lets out a growl of frustration- why did I have to lose my camera.... dammit.
[gem] are you arden and why do you need a camera?
[Arden] Yes and because you're - He gestures wildly at her nonhuman parts- Fuck it... no one would believe me anyway. They'd just think it was a mod with all this low poly stuff...
[gem] well the low poly is only because we are in Minecraft otherwise I would be more detailed I am both a bine and a space angel and I heard of you from zeke and I thought I would introduce myself because we haven't met before i'm gem.
[Arden] Arden Quincy. So... you can be real in this shape in the..- words fail him- outside world?
[gem] yep space angel are from the outside world and before I was a space angel I was just a human.
[Arden] Is examining her features - Is Space Angel some kind of slang you use in place of a technical term? You look like an Enochian angel. They usually have a mix of human and animal parts. They also have 'real names' that are dangerous for mortals to say.
[gem] no space angels are an alien race that just about any species can turn into their defining characteristic is angel like wings, glowing white eyes, and a heart on there chest the rest has to do with who they are as a person before they became a space angel they tend to live in the void of space.
[Arden] Looks around suspiciously - If Xophiel sent you to look after us I won't tell anybody. Wait, YOU'RE AN ALIEN? OMG A REAL ALIEN!
[gem] yep I am an alien and no one sent me.
[Arden] Pulls on his hair - And no one would ever believe me.... AAAAARGH
[gem] who do you want to believe you I am willing to talk to them.
[Arden] It's not like that.. I just.. dammit... I'm writing a book and I just wanted to study the lake monster, maybe get some pictures if I was really really lucky... I didn't expect to get sucked into all this...
[gem] lake monster?
[Arden] Yeah, there were reports of other weird things too. But that was my focus. A spooky lake in the center of a swamp. With animal shaped earth mounds in the hills around it, and at night; always the howling of wolves.
[gem] sounded interesting -puts mimikyu down so they can run around which they do with out going to far-
[Arden] Yeah, till my uncle put me out in the snow for 'being a homo'
[gem] -frowns- no one should do that just because of their orientation
[Arden] But I'm not! I wasn't doing anything at all. He just listened in on a conversation he shouldn't have! I have this friend who's dating a  dom and sex is his solution to everything. Me and Zeke are just friends.
[gem] I never assumed you where dating anyone or if you where are not I just said no one should throw someone out in the snow because of their orientation.
[Arden] Well I don't think it's right either! But I can be doubly pissed because it was so rudely done on top of it all. I was paying him rent for a room I wouldn't house a dog in, and he put me out when it was too late to even get a bus to anywhere else. I might have frozen to death out there if not for Dolly taking me in.
[gem] well a i'm glad you are safe.
[Arden] Yeah, those weird wolves almost got us. It's a good thing Dolly is good with a knife. I'm not a fighter, the staff is mostly to lean on when I'm hiking.
[gem] so you said you are writing a book is it about strange creatures or something else?
[Arden] Oh yes! I love the paranormal! I'm still lamenting the pictures I lost when Xophiel pulled us out of that mess. I got actual shots of the monster cavorting in the lake. It was amazing, and then I fell out of a tree.
[gem] -remember screen shot and there is suddenly a flash as she then pulls out a picture of arden out of her innovatory-
[Arden] What was that? Is it a computer error?! How did you do that?
[gem] no it's screen shot it's something you can do in Minecraft.
[Arden] How?!
[gem] you would have to get access to the keyboard and press f3
[Arden] I don't know how to do that... I'm not too good with computers anyway.
[gem] you would have to ask someone else I always had mine because I have a computer stuck in my system
[Arden] Makes a thoughtful face. - Gem... have you seen anything... strange in Doc's house? Or smelled anything that seemed off?
[gem] strange like how?
[Arden] It smells like... cookies almost? But sharper
[gem] unless we are talking about the cookies in the kitchen then no I haven't.
[Arden] Hmmm. I just, I've seen some things that no one else has mentioned... a big shadow, it moves really quickly.
[gem] normally i would say maybe it was a creepypasta but fewer live in the castle then they use to do you feel like it's following you?
[Arden] No... I feel more like I've suprised it once or twice. It's always very late at night.
[gem] hmm maybe a ghost?
[Arden] No, something more solid then an apparition. I've heard it bump into things.
[gem] i am no stranger to not sleeping if you need someone to help get a better idea if what it is we can look for them.
[Arden] Then I'd say... stake out the kitchen. And I find little puddles sometimes that I think aren't from Doc's Goomy. The pokemon's slime doesn't have a smell, and it seems to dry out and vanish very quickly.
[gem] if it comes in i will quickly screen shot it.
[Arden] Then best of luck to you, a fellow hunter of the strange!
[gem] if i find anything i will let you know.
[Stevenson and alexine] -they see the bar and both start to head there think there might be humans there-
[GK] Is laying against the opposite side of the bar. Playing with the babies wore him out and he's taking a nap break between the two buildings.
[Stevenson] -sees the dragon and pokes them cautiously he has one of his diamond sword ready incase he is hostile-
[Gk] Gives a snort and raises his head - Who's poking me? I'm trying to take a nap.
[Stevenson] -backs up a little at gk's sudden movement-
[Gk] Narrows his eyes- Heh heh, new blood huh? A Steve, ooh and an Alex too! I'm sure Doc is thrilled. Who is your brine little humans?
[alexine] first of all I have never seen a dragon talk in all the mods I have seen and second we came here because our server fell apart after a four armed brine came into it that brine is around here.
[Gk] I ain't a mod. I'm a Herobrine. I'm Gk. The Griefer King. And I get it, you're with the space angel. Heh, I was wondering if she'd contribute to the collection.
[Stevenson] but your a dragon, dragons aren't herobrines.
[Gk] Pfft. Tell that to my asshole brother NOTCH. He was pretty damn sure of who he was punishing. Sticking me in the crummy little form of a Steve just to amuse his twisted self.
[alexine] what do you mean collection?
[Gk] Most of the brines that come here bring a Steve and an Alex with them. Friends, love intrests or relatives, whatever. My 'Steve's' in the bar with his best buddy.
[Stevenson] another human?
[Gk] Yeah, Steffan. What's the weird look for? There are lots of humans here.
[alexine and Stevenson] -run into the bar-
[Enderbro] Is less eating a plate of fries then throwing them in the air and failing to catch them in his mouth.
[Steffan] Is just watching him while drinking a large cup of coffee.
-Neither notice the newcomers-

The first thing she’d need to do was secure their exit upstairs. She walked up the dust escalators, which were now just glorified stairs and made her way towards the second floor doors. From the inside she still needed to pick the lock, as these were the kind of retail doors that locked with a key from both sides. Had she been less worried about what might have been calling the department store a home for the last year or so, she would have gone searching for keys like she’d found in the hardware store. There was likely to be a spare set in the manager’s office in the back, but that would have to be a later endeavour. She wasn’t planning to explore back there on this trip. She made sure a door was unlocked for them before continuing her search of the place. It would be best if they could leave without compromising any of the glass of the building, keep it as secure as possible for future trips. If they had to break a door to escape, it would make the store that much more of a death trap. The fact that all the doors she had come across so far were locked was encouraging. It meant that someone had taken the time to close down the store, hopefully on their way out and not as a means to barricade themselves inside. The store wouldn’t have been a good shelter. No access to food or water, too much glass to be secure. But people weren’t always logical when faced with the apocalypse. Luxray stopped her on the way to their camping section, lowering his head with a silent growl. “There’s something up ahead,” he warned her and she could feel Honedge vibrate in her hand. “I can’t tell what it is, yet,” he continued, grateful for the telepathic connection. It had certainly given them an edge over the zombies, being able to strategize without drawing attention to themselves. Together they stalked what Luxray had seen until he could get a better look at it. “A person,” he described. “They’re not walking right and they’re emaciated.” Corsette blanched. It had been months since she’d had to dispatch a human zombie. It was a luxury she had taken for granted before this moment. “Is he alone?” She asked.

Corsette had come across a few zombies in the week she’d spent in the brewery so far. They had all been pokemon, and easily enough dispatched. Mostly they had been normal types without any worrying moves. She still disliked killing them, but she knew there was no magical cure for the virus that plagued them. Burning the bodies was the best way to dispose of them, but she didn’t want to draw attention to herself with the heat and smoke. But if she left the bodies where she’d slain them, some carrion pokemon could try and eat it and contract the virus that way. Most she assumed would know the difference between healthy fresh kills and rotting zombie carcasses, especially this late in the apocalypse, but there was no way to know for sure. She didn’t want to bring them with her, they’d stink up the brewery in just a few hours and make it unbearable. Besides, she didn’t want to be sharing her living with the dead, it was kind of in the name that it should only be for those still breathing. She had found a solution, though perhaps not the best one, by locating a dumpster to store them in until she could come up with something better. It would keep most pokemon out, but produce quite a lot of smell. Opening it up to deposit new bodies was most nauseating, but it was the simplest thing to do at the moment. She would have to fly around with Eros to find a spot where they could safely burn the bodies. Transporting them would be another nightmare. Luckily, her pokemon had much stronger stomachs than she did, though hers had grown quite resilient over the last year or so. Still, it sent her to the pharmacy in town to look for something to plug her nose with. She had been meaning to check it out anyway, though they’d been luckily enough that none of them had gotten sick or injured in a long while. They still had a good stock of medical supplies from their journey thus far, but there was a possibility that the pokecenter was stocked with emergency rations, such as more water and even food. It looked empty from the outside, but Luxray’s scan showed there were several moving figures inside. Corsette would have to find out on her own whether or not they were alive or undead, though. They checked a few entrances, debating strategy before settling on a way in. The front door in this case seemed to be the best option, as the glass showed the lobby to be empty. Going through the rear door would have left too much possibility for an ambush. Corsette let Luxray and Loki accompany her, Honedge of course faithfully in hand as well once the door had been unlocked. Corsette was grateful for her criminal background, though she wasn’t sure how she felt about her time in Team Rocket anymore now that there was no world to take over. Most of their missions had revolved around controlling the people of the world through money and coercion but there wasn’t much option for that in this place. Did the things she’d done have any moral impact in this new world? She was sure any humans she ran into would think so. Corsette pushed thoughts of her past inside and entered the building, making sure the door closed behind her. She considered relocking it, but decided they may need it for a hasty exit and that outweighed the possibility of something or someone else coming through the door.
