The Best Gift Of My Life
When I felt less horrible and my brain refused to go to sleep. I finally got to finish this. This has been in my drafts for almost a week. I love writing holiday fics and I don’t know why but anyway enjoy. My lazy ass didn’t proofread it so there might be some mistakes
find my other fics here | check this post out as well
Tonight was Christmas Eve and Juliana decided to throw a party at Jam & Roller tonight. Yam and Jim suggested to do secret Santa and give each other gifts. Everybody was excited about it. They were all looking forward to it. Luna wasn't as happy as the others were.
It wasn't because she had no idea what to give Gastón. Luckily, Nina knew exactly what to get him. She wasn't so excited because Matteo wasn't here to join in on the fun. He had to go to Italy to celebrate the holidays with them just like every year. She understood but this Christmas would be their first as a couple and she really wanted to spend it with him.
She still decided to go to the party. She thought that maybe if she found some kind of distraction, she would forget how much she is missing him.
When she arrived in the cafeteria, everyone was already there. They were all too caught up into their conversations that they didn't notice her.
When she joined Jim, Yam and Nina. They all greeted her by giving her a hug.
"We're so happy you could make it, Luna." Yam said with an excited tone.
"I'm happy to be here." it's the only thing she said.
"We were waiting for you. The party can officially start now." Nina said with a huge smile on her face.
Juliana saw Luna as well and tried to get everyone's attention by touching her glass with a knife.
Everybody was looking at her expectedly now. They waited for her to start talking.
"Hello everyone. I'm so happy everyone could make it. I hope you have a lot of fun. Let's start with getting some dribks first and then it's time to dance." Juliana said in a happy tone.
There was tray full of glasses going around. There was also hot chocolate if anybody wanted it. Luna was the first one to take a hot chocolate. She loved to drink it so much. It was one of her favorite hot drinks.
After everyone got their drink. Pedro put on some music and they started dancing immediately afterwards.
They enjoyed it very much. After a couple of songs, the Roller Band went onto the stage and started playing live. They performed all kinds of songs. From their own songs to Christmas songs. Luna enjoyed listening to each song.
After a while, the boys decided to take a break and put on the music again.
Luna heard the first notes of the next song and she immediately knew what the song was. It was the song Nico wrote for Jim a couple of years ago.
It was a song to slow dance to. So everyone grabbed someone to go out and dance. Nina danced with Gastón. Yam with Ramiro. Nico with Jim. Delfi with Pedro. Ámbar with Simón. Jazmín was the one filming for Fab & Chic.
Luna was the only one who wasn't dancing. Suddenly, it hit all over again. The feeling that something or somebody was missing. The feeling she had before the party started. It made her feel like something hit her in the heart.
It was hard to see all of them so happy with the ones they love. She couldn't help but shed a tear. She missed him so much. She missed dancing with him. She missed resting her head on his chest. She missed listening to the beat of his heart when they were so close. She remembered that every time they danced together, she felt his heart beating so fast. Almost as fast as hers.
She couldn't feel his breath on her hair. It hurt her so much. She hoped to forget about him being so far away for a while. It didn't work. She keeps being reminded of it. She couldn't wait until the song was over.
It felt like hours until the song was finally over. She was so relieved when she heard a more upbeat song.
She started dancing immediately. Dancing made her forget about the pain she felt a little. But it was still there. It might be deep inside now but it was still there.
After a few songs, the music suddenly stopped playing. Luna had no idea why. Everyone started to gather into a circle.
"It's time to reveal the secret santas." Everybody started to get excited when they heard Juliana say this.
Opening the gifts went by in a blur for Luna. She let her mind wander. She let herself go through all her memories with Matteo. It seemed like the best way to deal with her missing him. That way, she felt a little closer to him.
Gastón interrupted her trip down to memory lane by saying: "Luna, thank you so much for the gift. I love it."
Luna was startled but answered: "You're welcome. But I have to admit that I had a little help." Gastón immediately knew who she was talking about. He looked over at his girlfriend and Nina couldn't help but blush under his stare.
"Thank you so much, Nina. You're the best."
After a few exchanges of looks between Gastón and Nina. Jim interrupted and said: "Now, it's time for Luna's gift. This is from me. I did have a lot of help from everyone though."
Luna was a little bit happier now. She was curious about her gift. She had no clue about what it could possibly be.
"Pedro and Nico, can you help me bring the gift in here?" Jim asked.
Luna was confused. How come she needs help with getting the gift in here? Is it that big? She kept asking those questions inside of her head.
She was a little uneasy and Nina noticed. She squeezed her hand to try and calm her down. "Don't worry, you're going to love it."
This didn't calm her down at all. It made her more anxious.
She couldn't wait any longer. She needed to know what it was right now.
At that moment, Pedro and Nico pushed a giant gift box inside the room. It seemed vert heavy for them. After a long time, they finally got it to Luna.
She opened the box as fast as she could. She had trouble with the bow but she finally got it open.
She lifted the lit of the box and she didn't expect to see what she saw at all.
When the lit was off, Matteo jumped out of the box. She got scared. She never expected a person in there.
It took her a while to take it all in. When she finally breathed again. She realized who was standing in front of her.
Her shocked face got softer. A smile replaced her horrified look. She ran towards him and hugged him as tight as possible. He immediately hugged her back. The familiar smell of her boyfriend filled her nose. She still couldn't believe he was here with her.
"How's this possible? You were in Italy." she said when they finally pulled apart.
"Your friends called me to say how much you missed me and I took the first plane home." he answered with a huge smile on his face.
"What about your family?" she had to know.
"They don't mind that I'm missing Christmas. As long as I'm there for new year's eve." he said casually.
"You'll leave again?" she got sad again.
"You really think I would leave you again? I was planning to ask you to come along but you were first." he teased her.
"What? To Italy? With you?" she panicked. She didn't want to celebrate the new year without her friends.
"I was going to suggest to come along to the house here. My parents will fly over from Italy. I refused to travel back again." he said with a smile.
"That sounds great!" she liked the idea of staying in Buenos Aires with him.
They leaned in to give each other a kiss. Not caring about everyone watching them.
The kiss got deeper. They kissed each other like nothing else mattered. Like it was the only way to survive. Like they were each other's air. She put her hands on the nape of his neck and played with a little bit of his hair. He put his hands on her waist and pulled her as close as possible. He missed her warmth, he wanted to feel as much of Luna as possible. He hated to be seperated from her. It was horrible.
All he could think about right now was kissing her and never letting her go.
They didn't leave each other's side for the rest of the night. If they weren't dancing or hugging. They were kissing. They took advantage of every second they spent together. They didn't want to let go ever again. They never wanted to be apart again because when they were, it was the worst time of their life.
They focussed on each other, forgetting about all their friends in the rooms. All they could think about was each other. They wouldn't wish for anything else than this.
