Presented the most batty insane theory to @oblonger since he finished Slay the Princess before me and I needed to rant and rave about the fact that the background for the action menu and the background in the Long Quiet being the same feather-based pattern and all the ideas that the implications of it gave me

what happened between leverage season 3 and 4 because every episode is pussy popping so HARD. mountaineering billionaires, fistfight in a hall of mirrors, murder mystery dinner party with real murder, chess tournament with nuclear stakes that ends with a base jump off a dubai skyscraper. it’s a nonstop rolodex of delightful locations on top of the fact that each episode is a fully realized mini heist movie. it’s like they designed this show in a lab specifically to appeal to my affections

Mutuals appreciation post because I love them very much;

Okay, I don’t know about other bloggers but like I talk to my mutuals almost everyday, whether it is through sending them random TikTok’s, or through telling them head-cannons about our favourite character or just simply checking up on our crippling mental healths. And recently I’ve expanded from talking to only like two mutuals of mine (yes, I’m looking at you; @bussyslayer333 and @roostersrooster ).

but the newly found mutuals of mine who don’t know, every month or so, I do this mutual appreciation post because I just love you guys to the moon and back. So first up;

mike's    been    less    than    responsive    to    will    all    day,    against    his    own    better    judgement.    he's    hopeful    that    there's    an    explanation,    a    justified,    uncruel    explanation,    for    why    will    did    what    he    did.    why    will    would    construct    such    an    unnecessary,    and    now,    looking    back    on    it,    blatant    lie.    he    wants    to    believe    in    will's    virtuous    character,    wants    to    forgive    whatever    reason    will    might've    had,    but    it's    fruitless.    it    doesn't    make    any    sense.    &    that    lack    of    sense    is    starting    to    knot    a    pain    in    mike's    skull.   

will's    beside    him,    and    the    air    is    cloudy,    uncomfortable,    in    that    same    way    it    was    back    in    california,    back    when    they    weren't    sure    of    their    place's    in    each    other's    lives    anymore.    back    when    mike    feared    the    worst :    that    distance    had    altered    the    state    of    their    friendship    forever.    the    thought    of    california    just    makes    him    ill.    they'd    made    up,    found    their    way    back to normal .    .    .    or    at    least    mike    had    thought.

Hey, Octavia, right? (can I call you Octi?) if you don't mind, I wanted to ask, where are you from? I don't think you ever mentioned it and it's not on your bio, but I know that it's an English speaking country.

Octi? Nickname? HUMAN nickname?! Octi?! Call me it. Wow! Octi! This is the best day of my life. References aside, it is a neat nickname. Octavia is already kind of a nickname (that I only really use on Tumblr because in other places I'm in I'd probably not get taken seriously using a "girl" name) so it'll be a nickname of a nickname!

and I don't mind the question, I am like... subtly unsubtle about my nationality. I don't have it in my Bio but I'm pretty open to mentioning it in things like tags and posts.

I'm Swedish, so in a way you're kinda right about it being English-speaking because basically EVERYONE here knows English despite it not being an official national language. Technically my first language is Swedish and English is a secondary language, but I use English so much when I'm online that it's more like my first language than Swedish is, to the point where using Swedish online feels strange to me.

Re: your mental health comic - I hope, if any of those characters are based on real hallucinations youve had, that you don't have them anymore. You're a good person who doesn't deserve to be talked to like that.

Thank you so much for your kind words! The characters in those works are representations of actual hallucinations I’ve experienced. They were real nasty pieces of work, but I haven’t actually hallucinated one in a severe enough manner to talk to them in about… Shoot. Hang on, I need to think… 5-ish years now? I think? And the last time I did, I heard a brief sentence before I took some heavy-duty meds that knocked me out and took care of the hallucination by the time I woke up. I’ve gone through a lot of growth between now and then, and I’m now in a place where the only lasting legacy those losers have had is making me very good at abstract descriptions + personifications and self-reflection. Their cruel words are fuzzy and vague things that I barely remember.

Heck, I went through some old notes to remember some nicknames I gave them, and it was a blast from the past that I actually laughed at! They actually called me “less than worthless” to the point I internalized and verbalized it many times? Wow. That’s pretty cringe, guys. You spent your entire lives bullying a teenager. Cool. Now I love myself and forgot that was ever a mantra I recited at all times in my head.

I once had a project I was working on where I made a fictionalized autobiography set in a fantasy world starring a self-insert and these jokers. It was going to be a kind of field guide to hallucinations I experienced. I stopped working on it after a while because it was too painful for me to develop, as it was meant to dig deep into the pain and struggles I went through on a daily basis… and now I’m looking back at it and considering making it a humorous story about how ridiculous my hallucinations were— at least the ones with consistent personalities. Comedy equals tragedy plus time, truly.

I might end up posting some of the more solemn journal comics I made about these chuckleheads... It'd be weird to dig up my significantly older work, but I think it would do me some good and maybe be enjoyable / educational for others!
