My mother finally introduced me to the much-younger beloved friend of her (Mormon) family who has turned out to be very gay and gone through a ton of shit, including right now, since his husband recently died and he's having to deal with his (also Mormon) parents (his own, not his parents-in-law). I've met him before, but I was maybe 13-14 then and he's ten years older than I am, and that's a very different dynamic than when you're 30-something and 40-something.

We actually get on really well, and there's like—well, mlm/wlw solidarity looks a bit different when you're also both raised Mormon.
