alright my longtime amigo @f-r-o-o-g tagged me to list 5 songs I've been "gnashing and killing mentally recently" and anything that skeleton wishes is my command, and I've been so irony poisoned I need to post something halfway genuine so here we go. I'm supposed to @ other people but I don't feel like doing that but if you wanna drop some music recs by all means hit me, I always need new stuff.

Pink Sand by EX-LYD. This is some Scott Pilgrim type shit; if you know you know, and if you know you either love it or hate it. Weird how chiptune stuff makes you nostalgic even when you didn't listen to it at the time you're being nostalgic for.

The Foggy Dew, covered by The Dreadnoughts. An Irish ballad about the Easter Rising of 1916 covered in a folk punk style; in my opinion just the right balance between the folk and the punk. "For slavery fled, O glorious dead..." oof gets me every time. Not to be a 'Plastic Paddy' but this makes me want to beat the shit out of King Charlie even more than normally

The Somnambulist by Thank You Scientist. One of my favorite bands and I've listened to songs from this album for a long time, but I've kinda glossed over this one til now and it's pretty dope. Maybe I'm at a point in life where I'm especially receptive to someone emphatically saying "Don't. WASTE. YOUR. TIME." Anyways.

Luminice Dance by Paul Zimmerman, from the Wildfrost OST. I suck absolute shit at this game, but I'd probably be better if I didn't have to spend the whole 2nd stage shaking my ass to this.

lol no worries, i don't refer to my sideblogs from there because it's a messy combination of things and it makes me a bit more mysterious that way. hee hee.

3. favorite partner(s) to have around?

overall, sho. math puns. but choosing from the original game, joshua for dialogue and beat for playstyle (i use a good number of dragging/swiping pins)

6. favorite brand(s)?

monocrow and tigre punks, they both have pins i like and cool clothing designs. by the way, if you want a few giggles, i suggest looking at the clothing descriptions in neo for tigre punks clothing

11. thoughts on the anime?

while i could go more in-depth with many topics within the anime... one thing jumps out. so, my understanding of how things were localized in twewy is that neku is ruder in the english version of the game than he is in the japanese version of the game. with that understanding, i feel like the anime's a neat opportunity for a lot of people to understand a different neku than the one we see through playing the game in english.

and overall, it did a pretty nice job at fitting most of the game into a few episodes and also preserving things like character dynamics and development (even though that can definitely seem rushed when it's compressed into a smaller amount of time). that's most of what i care about, and they did things right in that regard

13. what would you like to see in the future of the series?

overall? i'm happy with just seeing other people continue to love the series. i carry some pins around on my bag and it's wonderful to see people get excited about seeing another twewy fan. but... it may be a bit harder for that to be the case if nothing else is produced for it.

one of the things that i love most about twewy is that it's true to its time, and often tells a message that people in that time need to hear, need to experience alongside of the main character so they feel compelled to apply it more directly to their life. as of this time, it feels a bit... tricky for me to want another mainline game as a result. though with neku covering his ears and rindo covering his mouth, i feel like there's at least one more thing to see here, and i'd love to see that trio completed some time. with regard to covering one's eyes... i feel like rose-tinted glasses would be a neat thing for a third protagonist to don, and are a bit applicable for the current time. but that has a bit of a different feel than the "blocking out" of headphones or a mask, and i don't know what uplifting message can come from casting those aside and just leaving it at that. i feel like we just need a bit more time to see how the people around us develop before another big game, i guess.

big paragraph of text aside, i would also love to see more involving sho. don't have anything specific, but i always have a hunger for more math puns
