I just got myslef the ps2 Sims 2 Castaway. First of all, I had no idea it's that different from the computer one. But once again the ps2 version is like complitely different game. Tbo I haven't played it to the end. I like the emelard + lama lore (?)🤨
also look at my dude (sorry pic is a potatoe, but like it looks WORSE irl x.x)
It's a really fun game.
Also is the ps2 Sims 2 pets any good? I also saw that at the store and I was thinking of getting that one but got ABBA singstar instead <.<
Part 5 of my Sims 2: Castaway playthrough is out! The series finally continues. I did not mean to let this go for so long. I have several playthroughs to edit, so I'd like to turn this into a weekly thing if possible. The Sims Bustin' Out playthrough is going to be a blast lol
Sims 4 Stuff Pack of my dreams: all the clothes from Sims 2 Castaway, and you unlock new swatches by crafting dyes (from basegame plants) on the woodworking or flower-arranging table.
Alright, I'm sick so I had to sit up in bed for awhile (to breathe better) and thought it was a decent opportunity to play my new sim game. Sims 2 Castaway for the Nintendo DS. And ho boy do I have thoughts.
For starters the "mini-games" control much much better than Sims 2 Apartment Pets for DS which is nice. However, the need to move the Sim via stylus only rather than keypad is laborious. I realize that it actually matches up with PC sims better, since we don't control Sims movements, but it just doesn't translate well to handheld console. In addition to that the world is not open like The Urbz for GBA is, as an example. You constantly have to hit "next area" to the point of aggravation.
It seems like a downgrade from something like The Urbz and a DS game shouldn't feel like a downgrade from a GBA game. The graphics are uh somewhat better than The Urbz GBA but inferior to Sims 2 Apartment Pets DS. My sim, Charlie Owen, doesn't really have much of a face. I don't feel much connection to her either, which I usually do to my sims. The opening sequence to explain how she got to the island is just a series of pictures which I also find rather mediocre compared to well every other sim game.
I like the plot of the game, it is much like the PC Castaway plot. You get stranded and half to do tasks to get food, shelter, etc. The first big goal is to catch some catfish for another sick sim I found on the island who gave me a spear. What I don't like is the lack of dialogue that both The Urbz GBA and Apartment Pets DS have.
I made a sim and played for awhile but got rather frustrated with the food meter because I couldn't seem to get it up and the constant "next area" necessity to move in the island. If they were fewer and far between it would be a little less annoying. However, I am very sick so I might get frustrated much more easily at the moment. I'll have to play again when I'm not sick too see if the frustration lessens.
The need for stylus only movement might actually prevent me from playing the game due to wrist arthritis— at the very least I don't think I can play fully horizontal in bed. Which was my hope for getting handheld sims games. Sigh.
