backstory

arthur is a uni student studying biology, currently in his last year of undergrad & setting his sights on veterinary school. he has a great relationship with his family, is sweet and hardworking, and tries to live each day to the fullest. he loves making friends and has a lot of them, but embarrassingly (for him, at least) has never been in a romantic relationship. seeing as he has no trouble talking with people and spending time with them, this seems to be more due to his own insecurities with dating and being truly vulnerable with people. it stems from being bullied pretty extensively in high school and, though his demeanor is still very friendly towards those around him, deep down he has trouble really trusting people and letting them in. he finds animals a lot easier to deal with and confide in (to the annoyance of his long-suffering mother and then landlord trying to deal with all the strays over the years) and though he’s still quite young, it’s gotten to the point where fears of being alone with a few dozen cats are starting to come to mind- so he decided to do something drastic. aka, apply to be a contestant on the bachelorette and try very hard not to make a fool of himself! 🤣
