it always feels kind of shitty when i tell people at work that I've never left the state and they all react with pity or confusion about why i haven't.

but yesterday i was having lunch with this very nice lady at the office i was visiting, and it came up in conversation that i haven't been outside of Texas yet. i was already dreading the usual responses i get, but she immediately broke out into this huge grin and said, "oh my gosh, you have so much life to live!"
