WTW BINGO → GHOST
WIP: The Stars do not Bind Us Word Count: 297
TW: Death, implied violent death
Note: As opposed to hearing the voices of her past lives, Six, instead, sees their ghosts.
You spent your entire life living beside the ghosts of your former selves.
You don’t exactly remember when you realized that they weren’t real—or perhaps corporeal would be a better term—only that you knew they were dead and that no one but you could see them. Surprisingly, you could not see other ghosts. Just the ghosts of you. The Yous-who-were-once-you-but-are-not-you. The heroes that succeeded in their quest and perished for it.
Never were you more aware of your immortal mortality than in the presence of those ghosts. They were a constant reminder of your destiny, your victory, and your inevitable death. All heroes die victorious, after all.
They don’t speak, these shades. Rarely do they ever leave your shadow, either. Sometimes you will see one shambling about, drawn to whatever thing they had been attached to in life. Four, you learned, still approached dogs, her shredded throat aside.
Sometimes at night, when you stare into the painted murals of the first hero above your ceiling, you wonder if they, too, could see ghosts when they were once living. (You can never look at that mural the same, seeing One as you do now. They’re a pitiful thing, that child of gods. All blood and bone and gaping wounds on the back; a scar that never healed even after six lives). How did they feel, staring at the visage of who they once were and who they will soon become? To know that when they die, their soul will be taken and ripped apart, reformed, and shoved into a new body. Another hero born to repeat this same cycle, all for the good of the world.
Gods willing, you will be the last.
And maybe then, you and your ghosts can finally be laid to rest.

7 and 11?
Thanks for the ask!!
7: What was the very first novel you tried to write?
I was about 8 or 9 and got permission to use my dad's laptop to write stuff for fun. The first attempt at a novel I ever did was about two best friends who found themselves whisked away to a land where what you can do with magic is limited only by your imagination. And in this land full of myth and majesty, the main characters were just regular kids who somehow got roped into being co-queens.
Lmao suffice to say i didn't make it past the first chapter, but I remember how fascinated I was with the concept.
11: Share the last paragrpah you wrote
(I haven't written in a while because of university, so technically the last bit of writing I've done was just small edits to tsdnbu)
The Forest does not like you.
It is subtle in its distaste, but there none the less. Leaves would turn from you, birds quieting at your approach. Branches swooping in a delicate arc in the same way Seraphina would snap her fan open when in the presence of some odious visitor. The grass would part ever so slightly at your steps, as if the mere touch of you would render it to wilt.
The Forest knows you do not belong here. An invasive species encroaching onto its land.

Thanks for the ask @writinglyra!
Six doesn't know herself more often than she doesn know herself. The concept of 'Self' is a rather nebulous one when you aren't quite sure if you are one person who just happened to be reincarnated five times before, or if you are Six different people who just so happened to share the same soul and the same body. Reincarnation-- and remembering your previous incarnations-- is funny that way.
Perhaps if she didn't remember the lives of her predecessors, she would have a stronger sense of 'Self.' Something more to say than that she is Six, she is thirteen years old, and that she is alive and prophesized and will die very very soon. It's hard to say whether she actually likes something or if that's just her previous incarnations influencing her. And if memories make up a person, then what is she? She has the memories of 5 other lives inside her head, getting jumbled up with her own rather sparse and boring life.
And what is 'Self' to a hero? A hero created and raised and trained to live and die for the benefit of the greater whole? Could you imagine being 13, maybe even younger, and realizing that you are prophesized to save the world but that you-- your personality, your identity, anything outside of destiny--doesn't matter?
Send me a “🖊+an OC“ and I will talk about that OC! It can be a headcanon, a fun fact, a small paragraph of backstory- anything!

Thank you for the ask @writinglyra!
4: What are some of your favorite tropes?
*forgets every trope ever*
uhhh.....I have equal adoration for found family and what i call "family trees watered in blood" (aka, the vi Aetiers).
Arranged marriages where both parties neither hate each other nor love each other, they're just really good friends.
Leaders who are good leaders but not necessarily good people.
Guards who are ride-or-die for the people they serve.
Power couples.
"Destiny has made a decision, but as it is a stupid decision, i have elected to ignore it" - characters
Badass parents who will do anything to protect their kids
scheming women
8: Which OC is your favorite?
From TSDNBU, I have to give it to Six. It's fun to write her because she's simultaneously both a 'blank slate' and an already painted canvas. Except said painting is a mish mash of like 6 other paintings.
10: If you had to write a novel about one of the side characters in your current WIP, which would you choose?
God, where to even begin???? I have too many side characters that I'm subconciously planning wips for. (WCTD extended universe, my beloved). Off the bat, I have to say Dantalion, because his story is basically the prequel to WCTD (and his story features a lot of the current WCTD characters). After him, it would be Sola Eidos' life in Ulona-Mai from when he served as a spy in the Emperor's court during a civil war.

thanks for the ask, anon! Will be answering for TSDNBU
5: Which OC deserved better?
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and Six. Yes, I will count all of them as one OC. They all kind of are.
6: Which OC did you forget about
When will Brutus and Seraphina return from war 〒▽〒 ok but it's kind of a given that I would sort of forget about them. They dont' really appear beyond like the first couple chapters and flashbacks.
