My submission of artwork for SENIKITA 2022. Organised by @kamal_arts_ltd This year's theme is "KEBANGKITAN" (Re-Emergence) "Levitate" 80 x 100 x 8cm Dimensions Variable 2021 (Reworked) What is the artwork about? According to Google, "Levitate" means rise or cause to rise and hover in the air, typically by means of supposed magical powers.This is to incorporate with the theme, "Kebangkitan" (Re-Emergence) This artwork interprets that your soul is being lifted and wandering into an unknown dimension. Leaving your physical body lying horizontally in mid air represented by the walking stick. It symbolises old age and deteriorated health. Soulless as the soul disconnects with your body, but still breathing, in the state of coma.  The vacuum space is to depict the womb where humans are borned. The pleated fabric resonates with the umbilical cord, the beginning of life's journey. The dead knot is the end of life, where death is destined. The moment when the soul returns, whatever images visualised in the unknown dimension remains a mystery. Possibly, it has been erased from the memory. Presumably, you may have a conversation with The Almighty God. The assorted fabric is a representation of diversified cultural ethnicity which shared the same ideology of "Kebangkitan" (Re-Emergence).
