       Jack's brow shot up so high that it almost vanished into his bandana. To put a stop to it, perhaps, or to... spark something more than what had in fact manifested between them. Jack did not regret the past twenty years, but there was no denying that he and Elizabeth had perfected their dance to an art form.

       Crossing the deck in order to close the distance between them, Jack put a hand on the boy's shoulder. “ You are woefully misunderstanding women, Henry. They love to disagree, even when they in fact agree. It keeps us as a lesser species on our toes. At least that's my experience. ” He shrugged, unsure on secondthought whether his own experience was actually beneficial to anyone. But nonetheless he persisted. “ And that one... ” he nodded over at where Carina was stood by the rail of the Dying Gull, yet again looking over her red-jewel encrusted diary. “ She'll discover that ghosts and mermaids and undead pirates all exist eventually, however the only reason she is so vehemently against it all is because you're so stubbornly advocating against her.
