Some time in 1948

My teta Sakeena, the mother of my mother, got a tip that soldiers were going from town to town expelling people from their homes and shooting anyone who resisted. This was during the Nakba. 

My grandfather was away. Perhaps for work, perhaps at war – with oral histories there are always conflicting memories. The only story you get is the abridged version. If you’re lucky, someone might disclose another piece later on. 

Teta Sakeena had to hide my uncle’s pistol before the soldiers arrived. In a moment of desperation, she wrapped the gun in my mother’s cloth diaper. She held my infant mother close to her chest – a hug between her and the cold metal – as the soldiers raided the house. My family escaped, and that was the last time they saw their farm in Yafa.

After starring in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha in 2001, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reprise their roles as Tara Singh and Sakeena in Gadar 2. The film is slated for release in August. Recently, it was discovered that renowned actor Nana Patekar provided voiceover work for the movie. Om Puri originally provided voiceover for the introductory scenes in the first installment. In the movie, Nana Patekar's voiceover can be heard right at the beginning.

Anil Sharma is in charge. Gadar 2 gives away the fact that the story picks up where Gadar: Ek Prem Katha left off. The first episode focused on the romance between Tara Singh and Sakeena, which left a lasting impression on viewers and is still doing so today.

'Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava' was re-released in a reprised form. The recreation of "Main Nikla Gaddi Leke '' will also be in the movie, which will be released soon.

Today, ZEE5 announced the global internet premiere of Gadar 2, the year's biggest Hindi hit. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma will reprise their roles as Tara Singh, Sakeena, and Charanjeet "Jeete" Singh in the superhit sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar, produced by Zee Studios and directed by Anil Sharma.

Gadar 2 resurrects India's most adored family, Tara, Sakeena, and Jeete, 22 years after its predecessor. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, Tara Singh will once again battle every opponent in order to safeguard the honor of his country and family. Ameesha Patel, who was the lead actress in Gadar (2001), convincingly reprised her role as Tara Singh’s wife Sakeena. The action choreography, cinematography, and visual effects in Gadar 2 are outstanding and even surpass that of the 2001 prequel. In Gadar 2, you will witness Tara Singh overturning trucks with his bare hands, breaking down massive poles, and of course, sending villains hurtling and flying in the air. In short, the 2-hour and 50-minute screenplay is laden with action and thrills. However, no one can forget the “hand pump” scene of Gadar (2001) where Tara Singh uprooted a massive hand pump and demolished the masses in Pakistan with it. I liked the songs in this sequel, especially the ones like “Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava” and “Main Nikla Gaddi Leke” which brought back the memories of the unforgettable Gadar (2001), the most violent and thrilling romantic action movie of all time! The Bad: The plots of Gadar (2001) and Gadar 2 (2023) are more or less similar. The story of Gadar (2001) is set in the year 1947, during the partition of India whereas the story of Gadar 2 (2023) is set in the year 1971, during India’s war with Pakistan. In Gadar (2001), Tara Singh goes to Pakistan to save his wife, and the same story gets repeated in the sequel, where Tara Singh is again in Pakistan, this time to save his grown-up son, who has fallen in love with a Pakistani girl, just like him. It’s obvious, a movie like Gadar 2, and all Anti-Pakistani Bollywood movies are banned in Pakistan. Who can tolerate his or her own defamation? I bet neither you nor I. So, doesn’t Pakistan. The fact is that the release of Gadar 2 set up an outrage amongst Pakistanis where massive posters of Sunny Deol were burned by them. You may not be aware that Sunny Deol has been banned forever from traveling to Pakistan after the release of Gadar 2.
