Perry Creek is such a gorgeous trail...

#too early for the flowers but i loooove the foggy mountainside and all the waterfalls #i know ive said it before but its SO GREEN like vibrant green its gotta be the greenest trail ive been on outside of the hoh rainforest #rusthikes

Otter Falls way bigger than I was expecting (person for scale but pictures truly don't do it justice)

#i cant believe ive never done this hike before.... climbing the waterfall was so much fun i wish i could go back tomorrow #i mean i am somewhat uhhh scared of heights so i didnt climb even close to the top but it was still amazing #rusthikes

Heather Lake (January vs September)

#wayyy harder the first time everything was wet and slippery and i almost lost the trail in the snow #it was practically a walk in the park this time #but not as pretty.. i think everything is prettier in the snow #rusthikes

was too foggy for any views on mt sawyer today :(

#it was a nice hike anyways tho #except that i def didnt dress warmly enough #did not cross my mind it would be in the 30s F (like 4 C?) up there so i was in shorts and a tshirt 🥶 had a hat and gloves in my bag #but no coat......... clown moment #rusthikes

Surprise Lake (7/26/23)

i managed to do it. phew. but man i need to do some upper body workouts it was not easy for me

was hiking along a little out of breath but not too bad and then im suddenly hit with a nasty wave of nausea and im puking my guts out and then like 30 seconds later its over and i feel fine again and finish the hike no problem. WHY

the last time i puked on a hike i hadnt built up my stamina yet AND there was a bunch of wildfire smoke in the air. that i understood! this time im a bit puzzled

#the only thing i can think of that i did differntly today was drinking two cups of coffee before leaving instead of my usual one... #would that be enough to make me sick?? #ive felt fine since so im not worried i just dont want to repeat it on my next hike #rustvents #rusthikes

#first attempt was right after a storm and there were SO many trees down across the trail i gave up #second attempt we made it to the first lake but then the snow was too deep and soft to continue #THIS time we finally made it all the way to the second lake. third times the charm!! <3 #rusthikes #felixmyboy

Colchuck Lake

#spent 4 hours driving and 4 hours hiking today.. im sleepy tired #rusthikes
