Red Leader is my favorite side character too. He was my favorite part of Chapter 37 (the chapter with the brewing stand). I'm so happy I was able to make him an entertaining character for you.

I love these so much!!! It’s so wholesome to see how your OC would draw things as a child, and those animals are so Shaped.

I can’t get over the fact that Illusion is just DEAD in that one drawing, lmao. The moment I saw that, this mental image appeared in my mind:

I’m guessing the lore is about that darkened figure by the tree and that scribbled out face by the lion. I think the figure and the face are the same character 👀

Stress: Omg, this is a pleasant surprise to find in my inbox! I absolutely love this. Elemental rising from the grave while surrounded by pog expressions was the highlight of my day. Guardian is looking like a weeping angel right there. Alex looks like she’s doing a cover of “Can we pretend that airplanes” and Sabre is jamming to the music. The vibes of Galaxy, Void, and Time are perfect. And short Illusion with a knife. Short Illusion with a knife. Who gave him the knife? Memory definitely taught him how to use the knife to keep him safe, but he didn’t give him that knife, and he’s still having doubts about it, lmao. I love these boys so much.

You did all the expressions SO well. She looks so smug in the top left. Those eyes in the “emotional manipulation” drawing freaking cast me into the Void. And that dress is amazing. Memory is so proud that his little sibling is a fashionista. Also, are they eating a pop tart or did they steal Galaxy’s sandwich?

I am so concerned for her mental state based on that look in the “pain” drawing. Hopefully Memory or Elemental can help him out.

I love your interpretation of Memmy’s younger brother! I love how he has Void’s features and wears purple like his older brother. His eyes are so cool and I love how expressive and wild they are! He looks very snazzy as well. I bet Memory taught him how to wear suits and get his lashes or eyeliner so good.

Also, crecchur. Already radiates younger brother energy. I’d love to see this guy assert dominance over Illusion if they meet.

Hold up, he has a braid too? That is cool!

The name “Malgam” makes me wonder if he’s the result of many energies or Steves being combined together to make a single entity.

Today I give mini memmy life!!!

My crops have been watered and my pores cleansed

Quick warning: Some of the headcanons have mentions of body horror, I will have a warning before it gets to that part, stay safe❤

Now for the good stuff!

I like to imagine Malgam was sort of the result of Galaxy and Void making the colors angy cause they fought and destroyed so much stuff, so they decided to troll them both by giving Void his son but making them nothing like him or the rest of the family and also he can never see them, and also giving Galaxy another little monster knowing he's either going to have to man up and try to be there for them, or live in shame knowing he's abandoned another, they forgot about memory lol.

Malgam is the name she chose for themself because they wanted to be ✨ different ✨

They have no sense of self preservation so he does stuff like grab a hot pan, try to pick up random wild animals, eat things off random surfaces, and lick random objects ( and people).

His powers allow them to create dark structures like in rrff but also dark figures with inhuman or monstrous features like: mouths for hands, endless rows of teeth, or multiple heads

They can also do this to themselves because the only thing keeping her body together is his mind

They mainly use it for advantage in battle or to freak people out

Wow wow, woooow! I’m really excited and happy that you made a whole bio and character for Memory’s little sibling!!

I love how chaotic their personality is. There are so many fun scenarios that might happen between her and the family because of that! Whether that be the family chilling when Malgam arrives to say the wildest thing ever. Or maybe the family is going through the hallway and see Malgam there, waiting.

I love how they go by any pronouns. I like to imagine that when he first talked about their pronouns to Memory, Memory was curious and asked for an explanation. And when she explained it, Memory gets really interested in they/them pronouns and wants to try them too!

I like how you took the dark structure idea in RRFF and added body horror into it! I imagine Malgam would create the most monstrous being ever with that power and just say, “it’s for art.” It’s a really cool power idea!

Updates on my Steve-related fan content and Blue Straggler

I’ve made changes and progress on my fan projects during the blog’s hiatus, and it’s time for me to give an update on them! I’m going to start with good news, then bad news, and end it with my favorite piece of good news.

Good updates:

RRFF: RRFF will return next month on September 23!!! I have 7 chapters ready to go. Though once I post all those chapters, RRFF will go back to hiatus while I work on writing and editing the next 17 chapters. This is because I’ve decided to scrap Act 3 in favor of rewriting it with better subplots and moments. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to work on the project regularly even after summer break, so that the next hiatus won’t be super long.

Reverse Rewrite AU: I got most of the prep work done now, and I should be posting content about this story soon! I’m currently working on concept art and visuals for the AU. My goal is to tell the AU’s story through episode synopsis, art, and some written script, so the writing won’t be as detailed or as long as RRFF. I’ve had a lot of fun working on this AU, and I can’t wait to show it! I think I’ll start posting content of this AU after RRFF goes on hiatus again.

Bad updates:

Mite Steve AU: If the lack of Miteposts hadn’t made it clear, the AU is on hiatus.  I’d love to get back to it soon, but currently, I’m not enjoying working on it, and I have no clear idea of when I’ll get back to it. This also applies to the Rainbow Quest version of the Mite Steve AU.

RRFF Extended AU/spinoff sequel: I’ve hinted or stated a few times that I wanted to write a spinoff sequel for RRFF that dives deeper into the lore of the Colors/Six Bright Eyes and my fan OCs. But recently, I’ve been working on new creative projects, and the RRFF extended AU is now a low priority for me, and likely will stay that way. So I decided I will not write RRFF’s spinoff sequel. I might make smaller content (like skits) to show the story I was planning to tell in the spinoff sequel, but that is not a guarantee. I hope you guys understand that! For now, I’m just enjoying my time working on the main story of RRFF, and still being just as excited to share more chapters when they’re ready!

And to end this update, my favorite good update:

The Blue Straggler story: For context, I have discontinued the Blue Straggler AU and started on a new story for Blue Straggler for reasons mentioned in this post. I have been brainstorming new ideas for backstories and character arcs for Blue Straggler. I’ve narrowed my ideas down to two possible directions to take his new story. Now I gotta make a decision on which direction to take. To help me figure out the best direction to take, I’m gonna do some more research. I’m going to research more about storytelling, plotting, chronic conditions, and worldbuilding.

Yes, you heard me right. I’ve been learning how to world-build because of a huge change I made for this project. Hear about it under the cut:

I’ve decided to take Blue Straggler out of the Steve/Space Saga universe! 

I am going to remove all references to the Space Saga, Steve Saga, and other Steve-related series in the revamp. I’m going to give Blue Straggler an original setting for his story to take place in.

The setting, story, and lore will have absolutely no connection to the Steve Saga. No Steves (Blue Straggler’s species has been changed to a different fantasy creature), no Sabre, no Lucas, no Galaxy family. Different lore, power system, characters, and genre. The only thing I’m salvaging from the Blue Straggler AU is Blue Straggler himself.

I got a vague idea for the new setting of the story, but I need to do research to make it more concrete. Because of my decision to take the story out of the Steve Saga universe, it’s going to take a long time until I’m finally ready to reveal the story. Given this is going to be my first attempt at creating an original world as a serious, committed artist, I want to take the time to learn the ropes of original fiction and thoroughly plan out Blue Straggler’s story, characterization, and lore. Right now, I’m not ready to start giving teasers.

If you are curious about the revamped story, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being interested in and patient with the project!

Hey guys! This blog has been on hiatus for six months, and wow, a lot has changed during that time.

I’m still pretty busy with real life, so I still cannot do daily posts for this blog. ISSQ and RRFF (I’ve been slowly working on it. I really hope to take it out of hiatus before fall begins!) still take priority over this blog. And of course, real life takes priority over ISSQ and RRFF.

That said, I do really miss working on this blog and the fan projects I post on this blog. I actually really want to address and complete my Steve fan projects. I’ve reflected on them a lot, and I have new options on what to do with them. But that’s an update for another day.

So here’s the plan:

I’ll try to post 1-3 times a week on this blog.

My plan is to catch up with watching Rainbow Quest and Steve Legends, and I’ll take you guys along for the ride by documenting my reactions and commentary on this blog.

So most of the weekly posts on this blog from here on out will be reaction posts!

I’ll try to do other kinds of posts (like answers, AU posts, incorrect quotes, art, and memes), but those may be rare while I try to manage my time better. My hope is that watching RQ and SL will inspire me to create brand new content for this blog!
