I've had this pair of teles for over 25 years. The Rosewood I got in high school. It's a 1974 and came with that cool Dimarzio when I got it from guitar center in SF. I made the "Sky" tele in the late 80's when Performace guitars were in Hollywood. My 1st build! Weird how they are like photo opposites.

What do these 3 beauties have in common? They all have Ash bodies! Strats with Ash rule! It has the best warm/creamy tone combo with single coils. From the left: '54 Relic with Fat 50s, nitro burst and chunky neck/ '60 Relic with hand wound Seymour Duncans (killer SSL sound)/ 1960 Strat with original pups and a sweet thin rosewood neck. I made the pink one, "Sadie" from a one piece Swamp Ash body. The 1960 is a refin, as it should be blonde from factory. They each have their own unique and special tone- '54 the brightest and cleanest (Buddy Holly like) and the real '60 is the warmest and fullest, especially neck pickup ...super throaty. The '60 Relic holds it own with great sustain. Too much fun going on here at Rory's Relics! www.rorysrelics.com

A 1995 Les Paul Studio that I bound and painted this gorgeous candy apple red for my friend Drew up in Seattle area. The gold hardware kills next to the red top. This beauty sounds beastly too! 90s were good years for these ...feels just right, like a Les Paul should. Another Rory's Relic www.rorysrelics.com

‘62 reissue Jazz relics. Daphne blue and Vintage cream, all nitro with AVRI pickups and matching headstocks. Cream one is sold and headed on tour to Australia. I don’t think I can ever sell the blue one- too sweet. These basses are made like they used to be…Rory’s Relics.

Sweet ‘59 Duo sonic relic with a monster tone. The 25 year old Maple cap neck combined with Duncan Antiquties make this a small sonic terror! I played a reggae gig with it last week and had a blast ripping up this short scale wonder of a guitar. All nitro finish really makes feel like a 50′s guitar…another Rory’s Relic- made like they used to be.
