heres my roots reversed ink, india! based on the india ink and some paint thinner

he’s a major tease, a total dickhead, and the only thing he runs on is gloss black heavy consistency inkwells

this pen is used to destroy and taint whatever he deems worthy of an “editor’s touch”, leaving the subject either unrecognizable or completely gone erased from existence

he’s disheveled and constantly drooling out ink from his mouth

his eyes dont change colors but they have few shape variants i’ll share later

india is the most ruthless and destructive of The Four Corners (which are the main guardians of the multiverse; Phantom, Nirvana, Stitch, and himself) who keep the balance more or less in a neverending battle of white, black, and grey

fun fact! his jacket fluff is an ever changing conceptual shape as if it almost doesn’t exist, just like his original form. all his sketchy parts aren’t for looks either, he’s very incomplete.

spike!! yippee!!! the final member of our reversed hero group.

spike looks and acts real tough but he can be a bit of a softie, especially towards his loved ones. those being his teammates but he doesn’t know that yet. he likes to tinker around with weapons and his cool skates! other hobbies he has are boxing, napping, and, unfortunately, gambling. he secretly gives away G to anybody he deems needs it most. he has a small interest in cars too and has a slight fear of clowns. spike will sometimes sit and listen to stitch ramble (if he has the patience for it) mostly because he pities the poor guy (or thats what he claims anyway). overall spike is a good man who will do whatever he can to support his team and get everything he can outta any mission.

he does indeed have a brother, and an au, but…hey, who cares about things like that anyways?

by the way, he’s a it of a prankster too, just be careful where you sit…

more roots reversed

this is Stitch! he’s got a couple loose screws and he’s okay with that. prefers crochet over knitting, silk acrobatics, and loves loves LOVES to write and study AUs and Outcodes alike. though he isn’t as interested in the creation parts (but still does so), stitch more so loves to edit other projects as he sees necessary. stitch’s influence assists artists through artblocks. he has a tendency to be a bit too nosey but man i can’t blame him. poor guy still has a bit of haphephobia but it isn’t as severe as it could have been. he still doesn’t really remember much of his past, i wonder what he DOES know…

Stitch is a bit out of touch, but at least he doesn’t have any voices pestering him, heh…right?

Ok just ignore if this has been asked already, but since we know what phantom sounds like what does nirvana sound like? Also how would nirvana treat his significant other vs phantom and his significant other??

Nirvana sounds like this! Quetzalcoatl from Onyx Equinox is his voice claim, just pitched down a bit.

Now, in terms of partners: Nirvana is incredibly manipulative, that's simply his nature. Though that doesn't mean he's completely incapable of being nice to his favorite toy person. What may catch his eye will never be what he expects. Someone that ALMOST makes him feel remorse or regret. He would never be genuine or kind at first. Most of his interactions would be more to soothe his confusion and interest rather than to please you in a meaningful way, kinda like an experiment. It's a tricky game to play but there are a few particular buttons to push. Once he deems you worth keeping, hoo boy. Nirvana will shower his love in gifts, whatever they may desire is theirs. He is also highly physically affectionate. There aren't many times in your memory where he isn't touching you in some sort of way when you're together. There's one important thing to remember though: The person in question would never be more important to him than he and his victories are to himself. It's a non-zero chance that he would ever value a partner in a real way but if that doesn't stop you then go ham. Just be careful!

Phantom, on the other hand, can definitely be a hopeless romantic. Not in the way that he's longing and knowledgeable about romance though. Oh, no. He doesn't know the first thing about intimacy or romance or anything! Or at least how to approach and process it. He's easily flustered but has major potential when given the chance. Naturally when realizing his feelings, expressing his love will be perceived as "courting." Expect flowers or herbal teas from his garden, walks through safe landscapes, and reading together by the fire. Things like that! He gets nervous about being physical but will warm up to it over time. His favorite things are holding his mate close or simply holding their hand! He'd defend you with his life and do most anything to see you healthy. He isn't above unknowingly nagging you, however. It's just how he is lol And beware his cohorts, they will not be above befriending, annoying, bullying, and/or pulling you around. They're doing it out of love, really! As Phantom would say: Don't let those fools bother you, lest they would prefer a fair punishment.

either way you choose they're a bit awkward and disconnected from the subject as they've never really had a chance to experience. you can speculate with different ideas as you wish! these are just the basics :3

<<everything below this talks about the origin of my dreamtale, why Phantom (Nightmare) is the way he is, and how Nirvana (Dream) came to be)>>

Welcome To DreamSwap

As far as this au goes, everything up until the stone is more or less the same. They keep their personalities of lively young children in the beginning, with only slight changes such as Dream being a bit more mischievous and Nightmare being a little more optimistically open. He corrupts the tree accidentally, yada-yada-yada, but not to prove to the villagers that he isn’t all bad, but because he listened to his brother’s encouragement instead of falling into his fearful depression. It was hope that fueled the action instead of spite.

All while this was happening, Dream had taken some apples with him to the village as hand outs to those in need, not just the one.

By the time he got to the tree and saw what had happened, he saw the mob. They were furious, engulfed by negativity. Dream couldn’t stand the thought of something happening to his brother, so in his quick thinking he started to take bites out of every apple in his bag. What he didn’t notice was the slow corruption of them. One bad apple, the whole patch goes bad. One apple tasted of rot, but even when he spat it out there was nothing he could do.

This is how Nirvana was formed.

He was consumed by a golden sludge. His bones creaked and cracked with the internal pressure of the magic, it barely holding him together. The pain was….more than the living, or even the dead, could ever perceive to withstand.

He grew addicted. To the power. To this…sensation.

The last words exchanged are unknown by anyone aside from Nightmare.

He watched as Dream wreaked havoc amongst the population with what little wits he thought he had left.

This would be the first moment that Dream would engage in bloodlust. The thrill of getting what he wanted. What the thought he wanted..

“BROTHER, NO, PLEASE—!,” Nightmare pleaded.

His calls fell upon a deaf skull.

His brother was nowhere to be found.

There were screams. Then silence.

…”Look what you made me do,” The monster muttered.

“Aren’t you happy?”

Nightmare didn’t know how to respond. His eye lights darted around, searching desperately for a solution. His sights fell onto a lone black apple between himself and the one who stole his brother away. Quick as a whip he lunged at the fruit as Dream simultaneously took to snatch him away, and took the biggest bite he could manage.

Something bubbled in his chest as a darkness formed over him. A comforting hold. The apple had taken the primitive shape of a soul. He had become mortal. His head spiraled with voices, not of his own, he could hear the cries and pleas for help. For hope. The comforts of sadness. The community in isolation. It’s deep…it hurts. He knows. The loneliness dissipates, as he knows what he must now do. The apple is safe.

He accepts his fate.

He pulls a sword from his magic, black as obsidian with a sheen that could drive envy from a diamond. Nightmare took to defensive stance. This was a warning

Dream had watched grossly, repulsed by this…clod’s..actions. Who did he think he was? He looked over to the once beautiful tree.

“No sense in leaving this stump around, hm?”

Suddenly the tree was sliced, forever severed from the connection of the two brothers. As if there was any salvaging it to begin with…

Nightmare turned towards the creature but only to be met with a dagger in his body.

That was not to plan.

As Night turned to ash, not dust, but ash, Dream realized what he’d done. He tore through the ashes in search of the apple and had nothing to show for it.

Something inside of him squirmed. The little guardian of light had one last request.

The ashes were spread across the stump of the tree as a final goodbye.

With that, Dream fled, never to be seen again within the foreseeable future.

Everything good was lost.

And it was all Nightmare’s fault. Or, so he thinks it is.

Over the course of nearly 500 or so years, after many days and nights and through much weather, the stump began to evolve in shape. Into the shape of a somewhat familiar figure.

The 500th year came about…the figure finally hatched. The Phoenix had not risen alone, the Guardian of Magic had been keeping close eye and informed him of the incoming plans led by his former brother.

Phantom was startled. Almost unprepared.

This is how he became a True Guardian.

what Weapons does Nirvana & Phantom use?

I'm SO glad you asked bc I've been sitting on these weapon designs for a bit and they have genuine reasoning.

Since I wanted Nirvana to retain his ranged weapon abilities while still making it more unique to his design, I gave him a primary and secondary weapon set. His primary is a hard iron Kusarigama (鎖鎌), or "chain-sickle." His second are a few magick infused Dai-kunai (大苦無), which are those ninja knives I'm sure everyone and they mama have seen lol These knives also keep his ranged attack preference but can instead be used as a bullet hell shower for quicker yet lesser damage attack.

Phantom is armed with something I would describe as a bit more elegant if nothing else. An obsidian katana is his particular weapon of choice, alongside some shuriken. I wanted him to have something to match against his brother's long range but in a more metaphorical way, since he only uses his throwing stars as distraction and never to harm. Phantom is mostly defense unless otherwise is absolutely necessary. His sword also is magick infused, making it damn near unbreakable and only as powerful as it's user. He's essentially the only one that can use it correctly. Otherwise, if someone else tried to use it, it would fall apart. (it mimics his pheonix-like rebirth he can revive it with his magick)

There's no real reason for them to have asian weapons it was just a coincidence + i just find them beautiful and interesting

Phantom is such a sweetie! he loves reading, practicing with his magic, poetry, and baking fancy pastries. you could also catch him training in his domain or playing chess, alone (he’s losing…). just like dream, he cannot experience the full emotion wheel. at most, for Phantom, it will be neutrality or contentment. a smile from him is rare, but is such a treat to witness when it does appear. he has dedicated his life to keeping balance and guiding those in need through their grief, fear, anything really by almost any means necessary.

the inside of his cape contains the flag from his mother’s tree, a symbol of hope and balance him and his brother once shared.

Phantom is Captain of his team, The Titans. He cannot wait to introduce you to his friends, er…allies.

what is x like? :o

For reference, X is my Cross Sans from my Roots Reversed AU!

X is a very stern and aloof kinda guy. He’s like the palace soldier you just cannot seem to get a reaction out of. He has a personality underneath all that junk, though, he keeps it hidden for privacy reasons.

X believes he owes his life to Nirvana and has sworn allegiance to him for years. He’s Nirvana’s right hand man, his closest knight.

And of course X has fallen for him only slightly but he knows better than to pursue that path of life. What he DOESN’T know is that Nirvana can sense those feelings when they bloom, as minor as they may be.

But anyways, he can be a bit of a hard ass. Such a serious guy. Jokes kinda go a bit over his head sometimes and he NEVER fools around near his leader.

He doesn’t seem to have a chronic fear of cows (instead being made slightly uncomfortable by them).

X isn’t boring my any means. Just tense. Very tense. He smokes occasionally during his short free time before or after missions. During any genuine free time though he can be found tending to his weapons, training with said weapons, or reorganizing his drawers for the millionth time. He can also be spotted hand sewing once in a while but be careful because if you catch him it may be the last time you see him for weeks and you’ll be looking over your shoulders in fear of your life (he is ever so slightly embarrassed by this hobby and only confides in India for assistance.) He prefers hand sewing because the menial tasks and slow pace relax him.

He also enjoys jogging and yoga, as well as sudoko puzzles.

X usually keeps a pretty stiff face. But a smile once in a blue moon isn’t above him, nor is a small chuckle. The REAL reward though is if you somehow get him to cheese REAL big! Smiling with his pretty teeth, that’s how you know he trusts you.

Question since Nirvana is still the guardian of positive emotions

What makes him evil?

He’s less a guardian of positive emotions, more of one that manipulates them to his advantage.

After Dream’s death, the brothers have sort of traded responsibilities. Where Phantom tries to help guide those desperately in need through their troubles, Nirvana will exploit them.

Nirvana exploits and feeds off any and all affection geared towards him. He can cause victims to perish of overexertion by LETHAL amounts of euphoria. Kind of like an overdose! He can feed off of the positivity still, but that will lead the victim to feel empty afterwards. Maybe like a vampire?

To put it simply, he’s the unassuming poison in your cup. There is such a thing as “too much fun”, and it’s Nirvana.

He uses his charm to take advantage of those around him, thus causing nothing but heartbreak, death, and misery in his wake, all while disguising himself as some sort of saint for it. He will always blame his victims for being too weak minded to see past his deceit.
