Chapter 11

//Warning: Bad thoughts

ROMAN'S POV

I watch excitedly in Thomas's mind as he starts the first video of our new series that Logic and I made up. "What is up, everyone?! Man, those extra seconds really worked magic. So, being online as much as I am, I tend to overshare everything about myself. You may know of my love of theater, my enthusiasm for cartoons, and of course... my passion for pizza! But even though I talk about these things a lot, I get questions from people all the time, asking very in-depth, thought-provoking questions about myself that are actually really difficult for me to answer accurately. Do I really know myself as well as I should? On top of that, I get messages from people who are also having trouble figuring themselves out. Personal identity is something I think everyone struggles with at one time or another. So, I figure, why not go on this adventure together? I need to have a sit-down with myself, figure myself out, and maybe come to a better understanding that we all could learn from! Let’s do this!" Soon after Thomas says this, Logic rises up from the ground.

"Hello there, class!" He says and I giggle softly as Thomas sighs.

"Whatever. This is my intellectual side. Every fact I’ve ever learned." Logic nods as a greeting to the camera, as if the viewers just introduced themselves.

"Believe it or not, I was quite the nerd in school." Logic replies and Thomas grumbles softly.

"I’m pretty sure that’s a surprise to no one." I rise up soon after and I absolutely beam as I speak my lines.

"Greetings, wonderful citizens and you nerds!" Logic sighs a little and rubs his temple.

"Hi." Thomas turns to me and gestures in my direction.

"This is my fanciful side. All my dreams, my hopes, and my creativity." I chuckle a little and stand a little taller.

"Not to mention your love of Disney songs! ♪Do you want to build a snowman?♪" I sing the last part softly, but unfortunately Thomas stops me quickly.

"Nope. Not right now." My smile falters before I smile again as the camera pans to Logic.

"Why that song?" He looks very confused, then it switches to Morality as he pops up.

"What's going on kiddos?" Thomas smiles and turns to Morality.

"And finally, this is my moral side. My sense of right and wrong that I’ve learned ever since I was a kid from my own parental units." Morality giggles and fidgets a little with his shirt.

"I also represent your unbashed love of-" He starts to say, then Logic and I say the rest of his sentence at the same time as he does. "-Dad jokes." Morality smiles and nods as he hums in agreement, as Thomas seems to be processing what was just said.

"... Dad jokes." Morality beams, then nods.

"Whoa, is there four people in here or is it just me?" He asks and it takes a minute for my brain to register as Logic sighs, to which I do too soon after.

"... Ah, I got it." I look down as Logic groans. Thomas chuckles a bit at the joke and replies.

"That was a bit of a thinker. I like it." Logic seems a bit irritated, then stops the conversation, I think to get us back on track.

"So what are we all doing here?" Thomas beams and turns his attention to Logic.

"Well, people know me from all the Vines that I make, but I don’t think people really KNOW me know me." I look down while he says this and glance away before I say something softly.

"Well maybe they would if you post YouTube videos more often..." Everyone turns to me and seem surprised.

"Ohhhhh..." Logic mumbles and Morality replies soon after.

"Oh my... Whoop! There it is!" Thomas sighs a little and looks like he's thinking.

"Okay, alright, that’s fair... But I don’t even know if I know me. There’re some things that I think even I need to figure out about my own identity. Like, okay, relationships." I absolutely light up at that and smile brightly.

"Ah! Romance!" Thomas chuckles and nods as he replies.

"Yes, but where do I stand in those regards?" I think for a minute before I reply.

"I have a pretty ideal vision of love... There's someone out there for me... One true love..." I reply and Logic says something soon after.

"But you tend to overthink things, rule out possibilities with logic, dream up obstacles with each new connection you make..." Thomas nods again and sighs.

"And that when the anxiety kicks in. Maybe that’s why I haven’t found a person for me yet." Morality says something then and I smile at his words.

"But that’s okay. The important thing to keep in mind is nobody’s perfect. Everyone comes with their own flaws." Thomas nods once again and smiles a little.

"Including me." I nod a little and smile more.

"Yes, someone will accept us flaws and all. Until that day I shall learn to love... myself." I say softly, though my mind berates me. What's the point? You found the one and you let him get away. No one can know.

"Yes, that's definitely important. Flaws and all. Speaking of which..." He trails off as he thinks, but Logic intrupts before he can finish.

"Um... Are we bringing up flaws now? Because if so, be ready to take a lot of notes." Thomas blinks in surprise and hesitates.

"Oh uh..." Logic looks down at his notes and continues.

"Okay, you ready? Here we go. You procrastinate a lot." Morality continues the list.

"You can be a bit selfish with your food and your other belongings..." I continue as well and glance away.

"You're definitely not the most adventurous person..." Thomas sighs and looks down as he speaks.

"Okay, maybe this was a bad idea if I'm supposed to be learning to love myself." Logic sighs and shrugs a little.

"Ah, but remember, everyone has flaws." Morality smiles and speaks.

"At the same time, focus on your good attributes." I smile and make a dramatic pose.

"You value your relationships with your friends above all else!" Morality nods in agreement and continues saying his good qualities.

"You believe there's good in everyone." Logic nods and continues.

"And when you set your sights on doing something, you put all of your energy into it to make it the best it possibly can be." Thomas relaxes a little and smiles.

"Well, that's very nice of you guys." Morality nods a little as he giggles.

"Well, it's important to be nice to ourselves and cut ourselves some slack every once in a while." He says and looks at me pointedly, to which my smile falters before coming back quickly.

"Wouldn't want to be our own villain, now would we?" Thomas nods and continues his questions.

"Okay, true. What else do we need to figure out?" Logic thinks for a moment before he replies.

"Biggest fear?" Morality gasps a little and looks scared, his eyes widening as he holds his arms close to his chest.

"Spiders..." I nod a little and pose dramatically again.

"Rejection!" Logic thinks for a minute, then replies.

"What exactly is at the bottom of the ocean?" Thomas shakes his head a little as he pales.

"No, no! We are not talking about fears! I am well aware of those. I am talking about what I need to figure out about myself." I think, then reply.

"Well, what do you wish to look for in a relationship? What are you hoping to gain from having another person in your life?" Thomas thinks and hesitates.

"Um... I don’t know. Someone who’s a nice compliment to me... someone who wants a long stable relationship... someone who indulges in the same sense of humor, and um... someone who can binge-watch cartoons with me." Logic says a question then, seeming intrigued.

"With everything you've learned, what do you wish to do with your education?" Thomas thinks again as he puts his chin in one of his palms to be more comfortable.

"Ooh... I'm not sure... I'd love to figure out ways to help the environment. Science was always my strong point and I love Chemistry." Logic nods and Morality pipes up, catching all of us by surprise.

"What positive impacts do you inevitably hope to bring to this world?" We blink in surprise and look to Morality.

"Wow, that was a surprisingly deep and poignant quest-" Morality cuts him off then as he looks to Logic.

"Hey! We have the same glasses!" Logic blinks and hesitates before he nods.

"Yep." He says and sighs, then looks to Thomas.

"Okay, well... I think just being able to put out silly light-hearted content into the world is kind of a good start. It makes me really happy to do that." Logic nods as Morality beams.

"Well there you go. A good foundation." Thomas nods and looks to Logic as I think to myself.

"Yeah, true. These are good things to be in touch with. And I’m sure there are some of you out there who have other, very different, maybe even more difficult questions about yourself. Maybe about your gender, or your sexuality." Thomas says as he looks to the camera and I have an idea for a question.

"Yes, who may be your love, or do you want love at all?" I ask as I look to the camera. Logic looks to the camera as well to speak after me.

"What do you want your future to be or even what do you want to do tomorrow?" Morality looks to the camera now and beams.

"And where do babies come from?" We all just blink and stare at him for a minute before I ask a question.

"You serious?" Morality nods and Logic stares at him in confusion before he speaks.

"Wha? You're a father." Morality shrugs a little and thinks.

"I know it's got something to do with storks, but after that, I uh..." He trails off and Thomas sighs as he looks to the camera again.

"Okay, well, only he’s confused about that, but yes! Figuring out your own identity can take a long time. You may know yourself at an early age, or you may be still figuring yourself out well into adulthood." Logic nods and looks to the camera again as Morality shrugs it off, then I sigh.

"Yes and there's no time limit for these questions." I beam and nod in agreement as I look to the camera too.

"Getting to know yourself can be quite the awesome adventure and hopefully it's an adventure that never ends." Morality giggles a bit and looks at the camera as well.

"And no matter what, nobody knows you better then you know yourself. Isn't that right Tony?" Morality asks and Thomas rubs his temples.

"Not my name." He looks confused then and turns to Thomas.

"Then what is it?" Thomas sighs again and looks to the camera once more.

"Okay, that was a very enlightening experience, but I think that’s enough for one night. It’s a little weird to be talking to myself so much. Right, Sacagawea?" He asks and turns to his pet hamster, to which Logic cringes.

"I'm your pet hamster and I'm pretty sure this is even weirder." Says Sacagawea in response and Logic grumbles something about there's being no logic.

"True. You’re right. You’re always right... I hope you guys enjoyed this little journey into my identity. Say goodbye, everyone!" Logic nods and turns to the camera.

"Class dismissed!" He says, then sinks out.

"♪ Goodbye! ♪" I reply and sink out to my room, then my smile falls as I sigh. "Where are you Virgil...?"

I know I’m late since the first Remus’ appearance but shhh, the important thing is to post, still better than not posting it at all, hahaha

also for this post you’ll have to thank both @misslilidelaney, which is basically the source of half or even more of the headcanons you’re reading, and @watcher-from-the-heights for being the best beta reader ever ((tagging @ts-italian-gang as well bc i can))

today I will indeed introduce to you the Italian version of Remus; since there will be some phrases in heavy Roman dialect, i’ll put a translation at the end of it to better understand what people are saying: so, enjoy your reading, y'all!

oh, yeah, before anything else:

Romeo Stella

- Romolo and Remo’s elder brother, born on 25/06/1988, more or less a year before the twins.

- since he was a child he has always given very clear signs of his love for gore-y and creepy stuff in the drawings he brought to his parents from kindergarten, something which the aforementioned initially worried about but later accepted, albeit with some difficulty.

- in high school he attended the liceo artistico and he definitely chose it because he wanted to develop this creative flair for drawing, that and because the Green Stuff that used to be spread at his school was the best in the neighborhood- i mean what?

- after gradutation he started attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome but at one point he stopped because he found a job almost immediately in a very… particular field and he seized the chance: basically he’s a cameraman for erotica movies, and every now and then he takes part in the scenes himself and if at the beginning he both studied and worked to round up his expenses, after a while he quit his studies to devote himself full time to filming.

- once his parents found out about his job, since Romeo continued to lie saying that he was studying when in reality it wasn’t true, they literally kicked him out of the house and at first begged for hospitality among the houses of his actor friends and the studio where movies were usually filmed, then Remo invited him to Bologna with the promise of a low-priced apartment and showing him the announcement of a film production agency, of the type “he likes so much” looking for a cameraman, and so then he moves up to North Italy.

- as far as his personality goes, Romeo “Er Mejo Der Colosseo” [1] Stella, as he calls himself, is A Mess™: inconsistent like few, he overshares about his life and sometimes his work a lot, to the point of often making uncomfortable both the Italian Sides and Dolce&Remì’s customers.

- as far as his sexuality is concerned, inconsistency here too reigns supreme because he constantly changes labels and an example of his conversations on the subject is: “I’m bisexual” “I’m pansexual” “No, no, in the end I am straight” “Yes, but that guy has a divine ass” “Okay, I’m gay” “Okay but THOSE BOOBS”, so you can understand what a mess this human being is.

- he wants to be considered triplets with Romolo and Remo at all costs, but each time they introduce themselves to someone new, the conversation between the three of them goes something like this: Romeo: “eh, sì, siamo gemelli” Romolo: “ma n'è ‘n cazzo vero” Remo: “ma che cazzo stai a di’?”[2]; plus the twins don’t speak much or almost never about him because they’re a bit embarrassed about his job.

- if you think that the Stella twins together are chaotic, you have never had the opportunity to experience the Stella brothers: Romeo: “A’ Burino” Remo: “A’ Cazzaro” Romolo: “A’ NFAMI VE PARCHEGGIO NA MANO 'N FACCIA”[3]; the first time that the Main Four witnessed a scene like this, Virgilio was half creeped out and half turned on and Luca was comforting a rather upset Patrizio from all the bad words flying around.

- for the reason described above films and TV series’ marathons with all the Sides are organized in rare, very rare occasions, because while Romeo would only like gore/splatter horrors and most documentaries on True Crime, the others, except Giuda, are like: “EW NO”

- Romeo: “VE GUARDATE I FILM DA FICHETTINE, IO VOJO VEDE GLI HORROR. ME SERVE ER SANGUE NO 'E CANZONI DAA BELLA E LABBESTIA” Luca: “Ma volevamo fare la maratona della Marvel” Romeo: “Notteprego 'amo girato a parodia porno e nun posso più guardà Thor coji stessi occhi”[4]

- he’s besties with Giuda and they bonded almost immediately and if the Venetian is not at Dolce&Remì or with Emilio, he’s certainly at home playing videogames on Playstation with Romeo. This is because a while back, at the very beginning of the internet, Virgilio, Romeo and Giuda were invited to a random group on Skype to make friends and while in the beginning they were all very close-knit, over the years Romeo and Giuda had become a bit much for Virgilio and slowly, taking advantage of his transfer to Bologna, he moved away from them, while Giuda and Romeo simply lost sight of each other after a while, limiting themselves to the usual Christmas/birthday wishes; Virgilio low key can’t bear the two of them too much because he’s anxious that they could bad-mouth him on the things that he said and did in his past, but they also have the same fear of him as well, therefore they keep quiet

- him, Giuda and Tommaso are fans of “La Mamma di Crystal” ((“Crystal’s Mom”)), a Saint Seya’s parody, and since the first time they all discovered that the other two follow it too, all three of them don’t have a conversation without quoting it in at least one sentence

I need blood, not Beauty and the Beast songs.” Luca: “Actually, we wanted to do a Marvel marathon-” Romeo: “No, please, we shot a porn parody of some of the movies and I can’t watch Thor with the same eyes again.”

Romeo Stella

- fratello maggiore di Romolo e Remo, nato il 25/06/1988, più o meno un anno prima dei gemelli.

- fin da piccolo ha dato segni ben evidenti del suo amore per il macabro e il gore nei disegni che portava ai genitori dall'asilo, cosa di cui i suddetti all'inizio si preoccupavano ma che poi col passare del tempo hanno accettato, pur con qualche difficoltà.

- alle superiori ha fatto il liceo artistico e l'ha sicuramente scelto perché voleva sviluppare questo estro creativo verso il disegno questo e perché la roba che girava a scuola era la migliore del circondario i mean what?

- ha cominciato l'Accademia delle Belle Arti a Roma ma a un certo punto ha smesso perché ha trovato lavoro quasi subito in un ambito molto... particolare e ha colto la palla al balzo: praticamente è un cameraman per film osé, per cui ogni tanto partecipa egli stesso alle scene e se all'inizio studiava e lavorava per arrotondare, poi ha mollato gli studi per dedicarsi full time alle riprese.

- una volta che i genitori hanno scoperto il suo lavoro, visto che Romeo continuava a mentire dicendo che stava studiando quando in realtà non era vero, lo hanno letteralmente cacciato di casa e se all'inizio elemosinava ospitalità tra le case dei suoi amici attori e lo studio dove riprendevano di solito i film, poi Remo lo ha invitato a Bologna con la promessa di un appartamento a basso prezzo e proponendogli l'annuncio di un'agenzia di produzione di film "che ti piacciono tanto" che cerca un cameraman e quindi si trasferisce su al Nord.

- per quanto riguarda la personalità, Romeo "Er Mejo Der Colosseo" Stella, come si soprannomina lui stesso, is A Mess™: incoerente come pochi, straparla della sua vita e talvolta del suo lavoro fin troppo, a tal punto da mettere spesso a disagio sia i coinquilini LAMP(A) sia i clienti del Dolce&Remì.

- per quanto riguarda la sua sessualità, l'incoerenza anche qua fa da padrona perché cambia labels continuamente e un esempio delle sue conversazioni in materia è: "sono bi" "sono pan" "no no alla fine sono etero" "si ma quel tizio ha un culo divino" "okay I am gay" "okay but THOSE BOOBS", quindi capite bene che casino che è quest'essere umano.

- vorrebbe essere considerato a tutti i costi un gemello, ma ogni volta la conversazione tra i tre quando si presentano a qualcuno di nuovo va più o meno così: Romeo: "eh, sì, siamo gemelli" Romolo: "ma n'è 'n cazzo vero" Remo: "ma che cazzo stai a di'?"; plus i gemelli non parlano poco o mai di lui perché si vergognano del suo lavoro

- se pensate che i gemelli Stella insieme siano caotici, non avete mai avuto modo di fare esperienza di assistere ai fratelli Stella: Romeo: "A' Burino" Remo: "A' Cazzaro" Romolo: "A' NFAMI VE PARCHEGGIO NA MANO 'N FACCIA"; la prima volta che i coinquilini LAMP(A) hanno assistito alla scena, Virgilio era mezzo inquietato e mezzo turned on e Luca stava consolando un Patrizio piuttosto sconvolto da tutte le parolacce che volavano in giro.

- per questo motivo descritto sopra le maratone di film e di serie tv con tutti sono organizzate in rari, rarissimi casi, perché mentre Romeo vorrebbe solo horror gore/splatter e al massimo massimo documentari sul True Crime, gli altri a parte Giuda sono tipo: "EW NO"

- è migliore amicissimo con Giuda e hanno legato praticamente subito e se il veneziano non è al Dolce&Remì o con Emilio, è sicuramente a casa a giocare alla Play con Romeo. questo perché ancora un sacco di tempo fa, agli inizi di internet, Virgilio, Romeo e Giuda avevano formato un gruppo su Skype un po' a random per fare amicizia e mentre agli inizi erano tutti e tre molto affiatati, col passare degli anni Romeo e Giuda sono diventati "troppo bad boys" per Virgilio e pian piano, approfittando del trasferimento a Bologna, si è allontanato, mentre Giuda e Romeo semplicemente dopo un po' di sono persi di vista, limitandosi ai soliti auguri di natale/compleanno; Virgilio low key non li regge perché ha l'ansia che lo sputtanino sulle cose che ha detto e fatto nel suo passato, ma anche loro hanno lo stesso timore quindi se ne stanno buoni

- Romeo, Giuda e Tommaso sono fan de "La Mamma di Crystal", una parodia dei Cavalieri dello Zodiaco, e dalla prima volta che hanno scoperto che lo seguono, tutti e tre non hanno una conversazione senza citarne almeno una frase

My Oscar watch started this week since it’s not likely I’ll be able to do the AMC Best Picture Showcase this year. I recently found out that club volleyball my girls play in has no regard for the Oscars or the Super Bowl and attends tournaments ON THOSE weekends. Yeah, I know sounds crazy, huh (unAmerican?) because it’s like they have no idea these are important holidays for the country (at least in my country). Hey let’s book a tourney on Christmas or Election Day! Anyways, I love my girls. The Oscar nominations this year make catching up fairly easy as most will be available to rent before the big day. I’ve seen Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Roma, and most of the Animated Feature category already and I expect Black Panther to walk away with some Oscars. I just need to complete my viewings to nail down as many categories as possible. I usually just shoot to watch the best picture nominees but this year I’m going for as many as possible. Even the foreign ones if I can get to them. So this week I watched First Man, which landed NO major category noms but did get 4 for sound mixing, sound editing, visual effects, and production design. In categories where First Man is competing with other films that are heavy CGI I don’t see it walking away a winner. I’m not much for oversharing details about movies as I don’t like to spoil for others, but this film is about Neil Armstrong and if you don’t recognize that name and what he’s done then this movie is right up your alley. Touching drama, hold your breath action. It’s a well made film. I’m a little surprised that Ryan Gosling didn’t get a nod at Best Actor. The visual effects of space flight and landing on the moon were exceptional. It’s too bad that in this heavy batch of fine films nominated this year this film couldn’t even crack a director nod for Damien Chazelle. Tough break for a film providing a glimpse into American patriotism at a time of civil unrest but hey who wants to hear about that?
