// careless
@rkharuto
he didn’t felt too great. the pain in his knee gave him nausea and gray felt sick. the nervous and tense energy that had filled the halls of their company buildings since a while probably played a factor in how he had been feeling strained these past months. in the mean time gray had thought his mood had improved, but after the short energy boost, he had sunken back to the dark shadows of reality. things wouldn’t get better over night and the trial of the last months had made him realize the growing frustration in his heart.
it was distracting, distracting enough to make him, a guy with a lot of experience in taekwondo, loose focus and get careless during his training sessions. in between dancing lessons, gray sometimes would let his frustration out on the sandbags hanging in the company gym, just like today. but today didn’t seemed like a good day to do so, judging on the pain in his knee.
huffing, he leaned back against the wall and looked over to his bag. normally those few steps wouldn’t be a problem, but at the moment he didn’t quite want to move, so he remained at his spot and internally cursed at himself for being a careless dumbass. the door swung open and a familiar face came in. “ah, haruto! hi!” the older man said and waved shortly, as he was sitting in the corner. “uh, could you help hyung and bring over the water bottle there? i need something to cool my knee for a moment.”

♆ Photoshoot Frenzy ♆
ft @rkharuto
This evaluation was something Sungmin had never seen coming. He was somewhat thrown by the randomness of it. Usually evaluations were vocal or performance based but this, this was different. He understood the reasoning behind having a few modelling classes but he couldn’t understand why they had decided to make an entire evaluation out of it.
This sucked.
Sungmin was currently sitting with Haruto. He had somehow befriended the younger boy during their evaluation together months ago. He was a kind boy who reminded him of his sister. Plus, he could brush up on his Japanese when he was with Haruto which was a bonus. Sungmin had zero idea of what to do or even how to model. He was at a loss this month. He turned to the younger, wondering if it was the same for him.
❝ So have you decided what you’re doing with this month’s evaluation? ❞

. the next generation
@rkharuto
“haruto, collab with me.”
junhyuk had probably asked the slightly older japanese boy this same question about one hundred times now, and every time he had been turned down. but that was not going to stop him, he would stop asking the same question when haruto finally gave in and let him do the collab he wanted to. he had been bothering him with it the moment he found out he was also a deep toned rapper, and a talented one at that (despite the amount of times haruto had tried to dispute it).
“pleeeeease,” he whined out the word, flopping over the table somewhat as he stared up through his fringe at the other boy. while he doubted the ‘playing cute’ card would really work with someone who was only nine month older than him would really work, it was still worth a shot. anything to actually make him say yes and give in already.

Summertime record
@rkharuto
It felt a bit suspicious that the companies were actually being kind for a change -- of course they still had to perform, but practically getting a full day of relaxation and fun didn’t seem like something they usually dealt in. Daehwi had only once himself experienced how mischievous the coaches could be when they decided to switch up the tracks for an evaluation, and thus he suspected that something might be up this time too. How genius he was. A true detective in the making!
Of course his suspicions didn’t stop him from having fun though. The water was nice and cool on such a hot day and Daehwi had been spending at least the past half hour swimming around to his best ability (he wasn’t really that good a swimmer but at least he could stay afloat) and starting innocent water fights when he was starting to get bored. That was when another genius thought struck him.
Removing himself from the pool the dripping wet Daehwi walked around to look for a victim when he found one of his evaluation mates, Haruto, casually resting on a pool stool. One step, two steps, and then Daehwi wrung his wet hair right above the other’s resting figure causing the droplets to fall down plentiful before bursting into laughter.

『 All For One 』 ⇢ KT Evals May 2k20 | +3 S ; +2 DB ; +1 Wk Live Singing ⇢ Jeon Jeongguk just wanting to do his best | line distrib.
“ Sometimes you had to have differences to come out as a team together. ”
After long hours of discussing and compromising with each other the performance stood at last. They had been working hard on learning their lines, timing their moves and deciding on the type of get up they were going to wear. While both Gray and Haruto had been begrudgingly agreed to suspenders, Jeongguk rounded his own look off with a hat himself solely because of a hat trick he had been dying to do when he first hear the mash up.
Rehearsing it backstage while they waited for their turn to go up on stage, he hummed the lines beneath his breath and tried to keep the air light to brighten Gray’s mood and make sure Haruto wasn’t ready to die when having to perform again. All in all they really were a bunch of chaotic left overs and beneath his  cheerful and light attitude it was hard to not throw a tantrum and throw everything all together.
The fact KT was now also making money of him by sending him to record that stupid commercial as well as letting him be an assistant for a photography workshop- he didn’t need a stupid company for these kind of opportunities. He could get so many more gigs without their help if he wanted to. None of that was why he signed with KT. He wanted to perform, to indulge himself in the art form of music and do that with his friends by his side but apparently that was too much to ask for.
The bitter dancer was thankful that their turn came up before he could lose himself in a negative spiral of his own thoughts. The setting of the performance itself was thankfully on the charismatic and intense side so the dancer didn’t have to be light, nor cheerful, nor bright. Letting himself flourish in the concept, his movements were swift while his vocals remained steady and on point. Even in higher registers he provided to have shown quite the improvement. Even though he doubted they would acknowledge it and even if he was sure they wouldn’t win either with her begrudgingly Haruto was following along, Jeongguk himself was content with his progress.
When even the hat trick worked out well for him and his gaze remained steady, confident and alluring even when meeting the eyes of the ceos’, jeongguk couldn’t help but smirk to himself. Yes, he didn’t care how this would turn out. With the help of the boys he managed to deliver the best of his ability and for that in itself he felt accomplished.

➟「久しぶり」homecoming。
@rkharuto
The thing about remaining in the area you’ve become used to even after suffering an emotional turmoil was that the people you knew didn’t seem to change despite your emotions doing so. He was embarrassed. Ashamed of being so weak. And most of all afraid to answer the question of “how have you been?”.
Youngjae hated being sappy. He hated listening to stories of woe-be-me, and even worse was it to fire them off himself, but would he even be able to give a convincing “I’m okay” anymore? Once upon a time he could -- he didn’t care who he lied to and it didn’t matter anyway. But when he saw Haruto in the train he wanted nothing more but to get off immediately, run away before the kid could see him and he had to indulge in pointless mandatory formalities about this and that and where and what not. It seemed that digging his nose further into his book didn’t help much in passing my unnoticed as the younger had already laid eyes on him. Sighing, the artist closed his eyes for a moment and then directed them to behold the youthful face.
“Watanabe,” he called the other’s surname and closed his book around his thumb as to not lose his place. “I’ve taken this train every morning at this hour for three years, and this is the first time I see you in here. It leads me to think that this isn’t your usual morning route, so why are you here? It can’t be some stupid reason like you getting on the wrong train.”

July Evaluation - Royal Entertainment Summer Party Evaluation Song: The Answer by AB6IX [Dowoon performing Donghyun’s lines] Performing with: @rkdaehwi, @rktaeyang and @rkharuto Shirt reference: x
(tw for brief mentions of scars and self-image issues)
Dowoon truly doesn’t deserve his mother. After voicing his complaints about the evaluation setting and the chance that he might have to unwilling show his surgery scars, she’d presented him with a a shirt made out of swimwear material. In fact, it reminded Dowoon a little of the top part of a wetsuit. She’d even gone to the effort of finding one with a high neck to help hide the IV scars on his neck too. She really went above and beyond and Dowoon made a mental note to get her something nice soon. Even if he did disagree with her words as she’d handed over the present.
“Dowoon-ah, you know there’s no reason for you to be ashamed of those scars, right? They’re proof of your survival!”
He knows she’s right, but he can’t quite bring himself to accept that yet. Even two years later, he’s still trying to wrap his head around everything he’s overcome so far. However, as he stands ready to perform with the others, he firmly shoves all thoughts about himself and his hang-ups to the back of his mind.
They have a show to put on, after all.
He hadn’t expected to perform with Taeyang two months in a row, but Dowoon was quite happy that the other had joined their group. They’d worked wall together last month and had a good foundation to build on for this month. Plus Dowoon had noticed that Daehwi tended to listen to the older Nova trainee for the most part, which made dealing with his little brother a lot easier. Dowoon hadn’t really seen Haruto since the May evaluation, but any bitter feelings he’d felt towards the younger trainee for beating him and Changbin during the competition evaluation had long since evaporated, so apart from some gentle teasing about the event, they’d worked together without issue.
Daehwi was, well, Daehwi. But as much as he’d complain loudly, Dowoon genuinely enjoyed working with his brother. Plus the fact that they lived together and could practice at home gave them an advantage other groups probably didn’t have.
Adjusting his shirt to makes sure absolutely nothing shows, Dowoon grins as the music begins and they literally call for the audience’s attention. Daehwi really had outdone himself with their choice of song.
neomu gakkabjido meoljido anke eojeongjjeonghan georireul yujihae neoye kal dabjange bisangberi ullyeo ring ring myeot shiganjjae imnyeok jung (my baby)
Singing in tandem with his brother gives Dowoon a thrill. Their voices give off a natural harmony and contrast well, even as they dance around the stage. Combined with Haruto’s rapping and Taeyang’s vocals, Dowoon finds himself grinning throughout the song, clapping his hands as he dances in an attempts to hype their audience up even more.
Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo!
After their performance comes to an end, Dowoon affectionately ruffles his brother’s hair despite the other’s complaints and sincerely thanks his other group mates before retreating to a quieter area of the party to eat in peace and watch the rest of the performances.
(And believe it or not, he even gets into the pool for a little while after all. Shirt still on, of course.)

June Evaluation - Sphere Entertainment Collaboration Evaluation Song: Q&A by H.Lee ft CONVEX’s Phyrme, Jinwook and Sehun [Moonbok covering Sehun’s parts] Performing with: @rkharuto, @yuzurk and @chrxsrk
There’s a certain kind of nervousness that comes with being the one to open the song during a performance. Add in the fact that they’re covering two of their biggest seniors’ song and Moonbok is a bundle of nerves as they enter the room for the monthly ritual of evaluations.
But where once the nervousness would have made him skittish and prone to errors, it’s an electric kind of feeling. Even more than last month, Moonbok is eager to prove that he can pull something like this off and show Sphere that they were right to sign him.
It’s almost enough to distract from the weird atmosphere that he’s felt within the group over the last few weeks. Almost. While Haruto seemed to have perked up a little over the last few days, Moonbok still can’t tell whether or not it’s an act. And of course there’s Yuzu and her very un-Yuzu-like behaviour.
They had been too busy doing a last minute rehearsal of the song for Moonbok to even say a real hello to the younger girl and he’s barely able to get a proper look at the younger girl before the music comes on. And then he forces all thoughts of the others’ (and his own) turmoils as he launches into the song.
Yeah Just stop acting like you didn’t hear me or yo seoro maebeon deutneun dung mareul dollyeodae Girl I know wassup on your mind Stop fronting and tell me I, I, I want you Baby I, I, I want you Baby I, I, I want you neoreul tteoollil ttaemada got me singing
How ironic for him to rap about knowing what was on a person’s mind when he’d been constantly wondering about what the others’ were worrying about. It’s a thought that’s only in in mind for a split second before it’s shoved away again, Moonbok’s attention going on having to rap in English and not mangle the pronunciation while he was at it. While he is competent in English, his pronunciation is still not perfect and rapping in it is a little more difficult than simply speaking.
All things considered, the performance goes off well, with Haruto rapping well (in actuality, Moonbok almost can’t believe this is the same kid that nearly broke his neck at the MGAs last summer), while Chris and Yuzu’s vocals play off each other almost perfectly. As he raps his second part, Moonbok can’t help but feel thankful that he joined this particular group. Because no matter what was going on with each of them internally, they were able to shift it aside to pull off a smooth performance. So much so, that he can’t help but grin as their performance comes to an end. In his humble opinion, Moonbok thinks they’ve done their seniors justice.
(Though when they’re dismissed, Yuzu disappears before Moonbok can speak to her yet again and he can’t help but worry.)

♠ How (Not) To Flirt ♠
Charisma starter (1/5) for @rkharuto
Choi Beomgyu was a very bright and energetic boy. Probably, too energetic and bright for some, but he didn’t care. He was the kind of boy who was easy to please and who was the class clown. He was known in his class and in his friends group as the jokester and most of the time that’s what he did, joke. He used joking and laughter as a way to hide his past and his insecurities. He didn’t care what he did as long as it kept people happy and got people to like him.
Dance has always been the one thing he excels at. He can express through dance things that words simply could not. Dancing had always been part of his life, even from a young age. It was the one thing he didn’t feel insecure about. It was the one thing he was confident in. Attending lessons only improved on his skills and allowed for a social aspect. Through classes, he could meet people (and show off).
There had been one boy who attended the same class as him that Beomgyu was curious about. He was quiet and seemed shy and awkward, something he was not. At first, he just thought he wanted to befriend the boy, but then something kept pulling at him and he found himself practicing pickup lines to use on the younger. Today was the day he would use them. They were in the middle of an exercise and needed to pair up. This was hs chance.
Walking over to the boy, Beomgyu smiled brightly. ❝ Hey! Wanna pair up? ❞

—- new kids
starter for @rkharuto
It was strange to think that she was no longer a part of the ‘new trainee’ batches. The thought had hit her awhile back when she met Sihyeon and had been helping her settle down- which frankly speaking, aided Naeun more than she would have ever thought. This also meant that she was getting closer to when she actually got signed, in a few months she would be a trainee for a whole year. Now that was definitely a more astonishing thought.
Nonetheless, she still knew how it felt like to be in this “new” life altogether. When she heard from other trainees that there were new kids who recently got signed, Naeun thought it would be nice to go out of her little daily routine and welcome them in KT. After all, the company has someone become her first home and bonds were definitely created similar to a family structure.
She spots him fairly quickly. Walking towards the empty seat opposite him, Naeun smiled as she greeted him, “Hello, I’m Son Naeun and I thought I’d come and say hi,” she could have done better, but first meetings can undoubtedly be awkward. Gesturing towards the empty seat, she makes the universal ‘can-i-take-this-seat’ sign. Smiling patiently as she politely waits for his confirmation.

Back Back Again - KNK/Infinite MyName Mashup
                     w. Haruto (Line Distribution)
Jongsuk had a lot of confidence in haruto’s skills. Untapped potential and jongsuk legitimately had so much faith in him. Even if he had said that he was going to be bad and terrible, jongsuk was sure that haruto would be great and even better, he was a triple threat. he almost felt threatened but he was happy that he was working with haruto and the whole month of preparations, he had spent it encouraging haruto and hyping him up because he knew that the other was good. he was after all taken in by katie lee of kt and jongsuk knew that the woman held high standards.
they spent their practice days, dancing and singing and jongsuk was glad to give haruto some tips that he had picked up while training in trc for a really long time, but overall, jongsuk was just happy to perform with a friend, a fun mashup and a fun song.
On the day of their performance, jongsuk grinned at haruto when the other had apologized many times again if he screws up. he just shook his hand and winked at his friend. “don’t worry about it. have fun and do what you do in practice, you’ll be great!” he exclaimed, with a wide grin. jongsuk was absolutely sure that his friend would do great. when they started, jongsuk knew exactly that his gamble had paid off.
Haruto was great tackling the rap parts and the vocals and everything and jongsuk had to applaud the boy for pulling through. It was great to see all that hard work of the month come to fruition. jongsuk then toook on his parts of the vocals and hit the high notes quite well in back and back again. those high notes were well worth the months of work he had put into them.
overall, he thought they had done pretty well by the end of it and he grinned at haruto. “should we go get lunch after all this?” he asked, laughing a bit.

// mash it up
@rkharuto
after being told to perform a sunbae song, the three of them had come together to brainstorm. a few titles had been thrown back and forth, until gray wondered if they could do a mash up of multiple songs to spice things up a little. their group only consists of three kt boys, and if they were to go up against other company teams, he supposed they should try to stand out by being creative within the boundaries. as they agreed on which songs to prepare, gray grabbed haruto to accompany him to one of the company’s studios. the two of them weren’t as close as he was with some of the other kt boys, but now that there weren’t many of them left, he wanted to be a good hyung to the younger male.
as he had noticed so far, haruto seemed to play himself down a lot, stating that he would just be there, while jk would think of a stage look concept and gray would handle the mash up. that’s why he decided to take him along and make him help out. he was sure, there was much more potential in the younger boy, than he believed of himself.
gray pushed the boy gently into a seat behind the mixboard, while he himself leaned against the seat back. “okay, haruto. which song’s lines should the mash up start with? what do you think would sound cool and impressive?”

                         ╰☆╮ HORROR ON WHEELS ╰☆╮
Performing What U to Hero | @rkharuto, @rkxdowoon
When he had heard about this month’s evaluation being dance focused, Sungmin was somewhat excited. It had been some months since he had last properly danced. Sure, he’d danced for evals before, but he also had to focus on his rapping. This time was different. This was a dance evaluation, and Sungmin was ready to breeze through this month.
Or so he thought.
The only problem that he had was the choreography he had chosen. It was nothing like he had imagined it to be. He had initially chosen it because it seemed easy and it was unique considering it involved heelies. The one thing he wasn’t expecting was how bad he was going to be at balancing. As soon as he put the shoes on for the first time, he regretted his decision. He couldn’t work out the right balance and placement of his feet to avoid rolling around and falling and he hated it.
The fact that Haruto was easily skating around the practice rooms only made him feel more frustrated and embarrassed. The teenager had quickly gotten the hang of the shoes and often skated around, making Sungmin feel dizzy. The only thing that made things slightly better was that he wasn’t the only one struggling. Dowoon seemed to be having trouble with the shoes as well which made him feel somewhat more at ease with his own progress.
Still, they had a lot of work to do and choreography to learn and master. Sungmin had decided that even though he couldn’t master the shoes yet, it wouldn’t stop him from rehearsing. The first week or two had involved a lot of crashing and falling of Sungmin and he often left the practices sore and bruised. He practiced using the shoes at home as often as he could until he was finally able to master them enough to be able to dance without falling over (he hoped).
By the end of the month, the group had somehow managed to learn the routine thoroughly and were able to perform it with ease. He still struggled from time to time with the wheels on his shoes, but Sungmin was more or less prepared for the evaluation day.
When he arrived at Seocho, Sungmin felt uneasy. He was worried about their dance and whether or not they would be able to perform it right. Once he was settled, he placed his heelies on and ran through the choreography in his head until they were called to the room.
When the staff announced their bombshell, Sungmin grew even more nervous. He had barely been able to learn how to dance in his shoes and now they wanted them to dance to an entirely different song?
The music began and even though he felt uneasy, Sungmin danced. He played the original song in his head as he tried to ignore the song that was currently playing. Despite his best efforts, Sungmin was still a newbie when it came to heelies which, when mixed with the distraction of the new song, meant that Sungmin found himself fumbling once. He quickly fixed his mistake and continued as if nothing had happened.
The entire experience was torture and Sungmin was glad once it was over.

Minhyuk hadn’t met all the new kids that had joined up within the past few weeks since he had been very busy with the november eval but also busy in general and only now that it was december, he finally began getting to know all the new kids. Very slowly though, since his hesitations and awkwardness didn’t allow him to do all that that easy actually.
Most often he’d either approach people in the cafeteria or practice rooms when he did spend time at kt but as of late, he’d been going out a lot more so his presense within the company halls was greatly reduced. Minhyuk spent most of his time at a cafe close by to the company or at home or even in an empty practice room. It was nice being solo most of the time.
This was not one of those solo days since he had been at kt since the early morning. He had been walking the hallways after a workout in the gym, before he’d head to lunch when he ran into someone. “My apologies, I didn’t see you there!” he exclaimed, looking down since he was pretty tall. He noticed that the person he ran into was once of the new kids and he felt pretty excited about this. More new friends.

『 One for All 』 ⇢ KT Evals Prep May 2k20 | +2 S ; +2 DB ⇢ If there is a will, there is a way
“ Jeongguk was so close to walking out of this room and asking Katie Lee to free him. ”
The evaluation itself hadn’t seemed like much of a challenge. None of the boys was particularly interested in winning and found the idea of a ‘competition’ rather stupid and pointless. That was one part they had a common agreement on.
But that was about the only part they agreed on at first.
While Gray pitched in ideas to craft together a mash up and Jeongguk in response suggesting a mic stand choreo to coordinate their moves to an upbeat song, Haruto grew more and more quiet. Jeongguk could tell the teen was unhappy but when trying to negotiate, the three just grew progressively more frustrated.
Ballads were stupid, coordinated arm movements were stupid and no, Haruto did not see a problem with just standing like mannequins and singing down the mash up they had agreed on. It was clear that the teenager did not share the same mindset with his hyungs that movement was part of an upbeat song performers when they were here to be trained as performers.
Rubbing at his temples as the discussion went on, Jeongguk saw himself faced with two possible ways this could go: either he’d walk out of this room, bang his contract and his card onto the counter and demand to pay himself out of his agreement with KT or he’d give in and try to approach the boy from a different angle.
Trying to reason with him what their job was when he clearly had no interest in even doing this as a job was pointless. So he appealed to his team spirit and their friendship. “I know you don’t want to debut- but I do. If you don’t want to do it for yourself, won’t you do it for me, please?”
The dancer didn’t care that his statement kicked forth an awkward silence in the room. It was the first time he actually expressed his desire to debut. Despite everything he had said and his bitterness and knowing how simply impossible the chances seemed- there was an empty bed in that forsaken dorm and he wanted it.
At the end of the day, when working out the ‘choreography’ for the evaluation, he was glad for his honesty. He knew the chance was slim but he wanted to at least still do his best. The fact the others helped him achieve that was something he’d always eternally be grateful for.
