Bhumi Pednekar’s sister Samiksha reviews Bhakshak: “You’ve outdone yourself and we are so proud of you”
The film follows the life of a fearless investigative journalist who uncovers shocking secrets hidden within a girls’ shelter home.
Netflix’s upcoming release Bhakshak has been called by many as a brave stride. A hard-hitting narrative, the film, directed by Pulkit and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead as Vaishali Singh, along with Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava and Sai Tamhankar. The film will be released on 9th February, on Netflix India.
On Tuesday night at the screening of the film, we saw the industry come out to support the film, from Pratik Gandhi, Anand L Rai, and Rhea Chakraborty, along with the cast of the film walking the red carpet. Among the ones who came for the event was Samiksha Pednekar, Bhumi Pednekar’s younger sister who after watching the film was overwhelmed and posted what we can call one of the first few reviews of the film where she also spoke about the reaction of those in the audience.
Written against a sweet picture of Bhumi’s mother hugging her, Samiksha praised Bhumi and the film, “Proud of you Bhumi, you’ve outdone yourself and we are so proud of you. Bhakshak is one of the most important films of our time! A must-watch! Out on Netflix on Feb 9!” She continued to say how there was complete silence at the screening of the film and after the credits rolled, everyone was teary-eyed. She said that ‘Bhakshak’ was one of the best she had watched in a while.
Others joined Samiksha in praising the film like actor Rithvik Dhanjani and producer Tanuj Garg, who also penned notes for the movie.
Directed by Pulkit and produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma, Bhakshak features a powerful ensemble including Sanjay Mishra, and Sai Tamhankar, along with Bhumi Pednekar. The film follows the life of a fearless investigative journalist who uncovers shocking secrets hidden within a girls’ shelter home. The film arrives on Netflix on February 9, 2024.

The Trial's pivotal Track was inspired by a Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty, and Arnab Goswami episode.
Three years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic was causing havoc in India, but the Sushant Singh Rajput death case was also receiving attention from the media and some online users. Rhea Chakraborty's portrayal as the villain eventually turned the situation into a media spectacle. A number of outrageous accusations—the majority of which lacked any supporting evidence—were made against her in connection with the actor's death. This iconic episode is covered in a key track in the most recent web series, The Trial, which debuted today on Disney+ Hotstar.
In the leading role, Kajol plays a mother trying to support her family after her husband is implicated in a bribery and sex scandal in The Trial. To make ends meet, she must work at a law firm. Every episode depicts Noyonika Sengupta (Kajol) battling a different case. The death of cricketer Mohit Singh, which occurred in mysterious circumstances, is one such case that is quite memorable. Juhi Bhatia, his girlfriend, has been detained on suspicion of aiding suicide. Despite the fact that the deceased is depicted as a sportsman, it is obvious that the Sushant Singh Rajput case served as inspiration for the film's creators.
The 2020 case is also notable because popular news anchor Arnab Goswami tried his best to persuade his viewers that Sushant Singh Rajput was killed by Rhea Chakraborty by presenting them with various theories. Daksh Rathod (Atul Kumar), a character based on him, also treats Juhi in the same way. Daksh Rathod is depicted as working for SNP News while Arnab happens to be the owner of Republic Network.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the 'Jalebi' actor treated her fans with new pictures in ethnic wear.
Sharing the pictures, she wrote " Love and Light #rhenew."
Rhea Chakraborty looked graceful in a beautiful white lehenga.
In the first picture, the 'Chehre' actor was seen wearing a long-sleeved blouse that she paired with a matching skirt.
The skirt was panelled and embellished with mirror chicken Kari work. She also draped a beautifully-embroidered sheer dupatta on one side of the shoulder.
Rhea accessorized her outfit with statement earrings by Varun Chakkilam that went well with her ensemble.
For makeup, she opted for a dewy makeup look and kept her tresses open to increase the chic quotient of the outfit.
She kept her look simple yet surreal.

Taking to his Instagram handle, the 'Toofaan' actor shared an unseen picture with his great-grandfather, late Muztar Khairabadi, who was an Urdu poet.

Sharing the picture Farhan Akhtar wrote, "My family thinks I look like my great-grandfather, Muztar Khairabadi.. what do you think?"
In the old picture, Farhan edited the picture to share the frame with his great-grandfather. The actor was twinning with late Muztar Khairabadi. Both could be seen donning traditional attire.
As soon as Farhan posted the picture, fans and his friends flooded the comment section with messages.
His wife Shibani Dandekar Akhtar wrote, "twins."
Actor Aditi Rao Hydari dropped a comment, "Whoa!!!!! So cool! #samesame."
Farhan's sister-in-law VJ Anusha reacted the same as her sister. She wrote, "TWINS!!!"

Unversed, Farhan and Shibani who dated for almost three years tied the knot at Farhan's family farmhouse in Khandala in the presence of close friends and family members on February 19.
The daytime wedding was attended by several celebrities including Farah Khan, Rhea Chakraborty, Satish Shah, Ashutosh Gowariker and Ritesh Sidwani. Hrithik Roshan also attended the wedding with his parents, Rakesh and Pinkie Roshan.
Meanwhile, Farhan was in news as the Russo brothers are considering a collaboration with Excel Entertainment, the Indian production company run by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (Gully Boy, "Made in Heaven").
Akhtar also directs, writes, composes, and acts in addition to producing alongside Sidhwani. In addition to a long-term connection with Netflix, the business already has a relationship with Amazon Prime Video.
"Jee Le Zara," the next film Akhtar will direct, stars Bollywood A-listers Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt.
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar is on cloud nine as he made his Hollywood debut with 'Ms. Marvel'. 'Ms. Marvel' is one of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects.
