While losing baby teeth and the arrival of permanent teeth is a natural process, there can be some challenges children experience during this time. Here are some potential problems that can occur:

Discomfort:

Teething pain: When the permanent teeth push through the gums, it can cause similar discomfort to the initial teething experienced with baby teeth. This can lead to fussiness, irritability, and difficulty sleeping. Gum soreness: The gums around erupting teeth can become inflamed and tender, causing discomfort and making it sensitive to touch or chewing.

Difficulties: Loose teeth: As baby teeth loosen in preparation for falling out, they can become wobbly and make it difficult for children to chew effectively. This can lead to them avoiding certain foods or having trouble biting into harder items.

Bleeding: When a tooth falls out or is extracted, there might be some minor bleeding from the socket. While usually not a cause for concern, it can be startling for children.
