Attempt at explaining the flowers under the cut

I wanted to convey a message of remorse, pining, and “what could’ve been”—still tinged with feelings of jealousy.

I’m not very good at flower language, so please excuse me if there are any mistakes, misunderstandings, or misinterpretations. I tried to use mostly Victorian sources or some that I otherwise vibed with. Some flowers have other meanings that also fit, but I didn’t list here for the sake of keeping it concise-ish. Please interpret however you enjoy most 🙏

i was in forensics class when i learned a silly little fact about death investigation

Now, I don't wanna imply anything, but in After Pain, that fact seems to suggest Rei has been dead for a long time

cw for eyes (slightly eye pulling) and post mortem related stuff!! (also forensics :D)

here's a timeline of Rei's eyes in specific

As you can see, the eyes have clearly dimmed and have lost that shine. Yeah, this seems to go with the whole thing in writing where people write about how someone's eyes have lost their shine/light after death

However, this phenomenon does actually occur in real life after death :o!

Basically, it's much more complicated, but my forensics class broke it down to this:

In death, the cells of the cornea dry out and break down making eyes cloudy. If eyes are open: Eyes will be fully cloudy 2-3 hours after death If eyes are closed: Eyes will be fully cloudy 24 hours after death

We can also see the corneal clouding here as well!

(PMI means Post-mortem interval, so essentially it's the time period after death, starting from 5 hours to 814 hours. This one just so happens to focus on eyes)

It's very possible that this could just be a nod to that writing thing (and honestly it's very plausible!) Or this could be Muu's subconscious just playing it out as such (but I still find it odd it does a close-up to Rei's eye unless it's paralleling the moment where the camera focuses on Muu's eye)

However, I like to hope that this suggests how long Rei's been dead for

Which means she's been dead for at least 2-3 hours, maybe even more, for her eyes to cloud over

And, another thing, Muu might have stayed at the body during that period
