We all know how hard it can be to keep our entryway from becoming a burial ground for shoes and umbrellas. And while there are plenty of tricks to style your entryway, sometimes this well-worn space just needs a new look.

Luckily, we can turn to Instagram for plenty of decor inspiration. So, as we do every week, we scrolled through hundreds of decor posts on Instagram to uncover the most popular looks, this time with an eye to the entrance.

What we found was that the designs with the most little hearts had something in common: From fabulous foliage to natural elements, the biggest Instagram influencers are bringing the outside in. Here’s how to steal the look and transform your entryway with the freshest trends.

“Wreaths add a layer of color and texture—drawing attention, and popping off your front door,” says Leigh Spicher, national director of design studios for Ashton Woods. “I love using real, authentic materials when possible, and your wreath is the perfect place. Not only will it have authentic, natural colors, but it will also waft a fresh scent when guests enter your home.”

“There are few things I love more than a refurbished item and the reuse of an old dresser is no exception,” says Stephanie Purcell, interior designer and owner of Redesigned Classics. “It provides vintage charm and a bit of nostalgia for any entryway. If you want your entryway to have a one-of-a-kind piece, this is a great way to do it.”

Get the look: While you can always give your favorite dresser an antique finish, you could also skip the manual labor and order the perfect one from Anthropologie.

“Plant prints are a great way to bring nature indoors without having to worry about trying to keep an actual plant alive,” Purcell says. “Plant prints also work well in dark or poorly ventilated areas where a plant would otherwise not survive.”

With the days getting shorter, there’s never been a better time to preserve as much natural light as possible. And the bright, airy vibes of this entryway by @housesevendesign (reposted by @simpsondoorco) seem to accomplish just that.

“Your entryway is the last place you want to be dark and drab,” Spicher says. “It should be bright and welcoming, and while you might not be able to add more windows or natural lighting, you can easily incorporate items that will add light and grow the space. Neutral colors and natural textures do just that.”

Get the look: Give your entryway a fresh coat of paint that will brighten it up and soak in the natural light, like this one from Valspar. Then add some natural elements with a set of handmade storage baskets from Etsy.
