Progress on my lino pattern print

In the third layer of my lino block i carved out some more patterns and detail into the planets, as well as touching up some details with how the pieces connect as a pattern.

Iinocut tip!!

Instead of a hair dryer or iron to warm up the lino, you can use a hand warmer or reusable warm compress to heat up the section you are working on, and you can even leave it under the lino to keep it warm while you carve! It’s convenient and much easier than a hair dryer.

a lot of ‘satisfying’ art videos on the internet are so different to view when you’re actually a visual artist because like. i was watching a video of someone peel off the paper for a nine layer linocut. and that does not make me feel relaxed no matter how nice the noises are it just makes me extremly stressed just imagining that process

Progress in the workshop

I decided to make a reduction lino pattern, consisting of circles for the stencil with a plan to carve patterns and texture into the block. I plan to have 5-6 layers so as to include as many colours as possible.
