Aelyra had known that Luke was too young for something like this, she knew the dangers of diplomacy. Borros Baratheon would not align himself with her mother unless there was something he could gain in return for his loyalty.

Cowardice. The one thing Aelyra hated above all else.

"I will go instead of Luke." She had announced to her mother and father (it had taken a long time to get used to addressing them as their roles towards her in this life.) as she stood up.

Rhaenyra and Daemon had both looked at her, she was the spitting image of their late grandmother/mother. She had been a child who valued knowledge above all else, stoic and quiet. As if she was just waiting for her life to go by.

Luke and Jace has also stared at their elder sister, one with hidden relief and one with worry. There was a chance that Aemond would be in Storm's End. They were both aware of his obsession with her.

"Swear to me you will go as a messenger, not a knight." Rhaenyra had pleaded with her daughter as she stood next to her dragon, the cannibal.

Aelyra knew better than to make promises she could not keep. If a fight was coming then she would fight. "I will try." She replied before taking one more look back and climbing onto her dragon and flying away.

Vhagar was already there and the cannibal had eyed her with his toxic eyes, softly growling at his rider, his mother. "Lykiri." Aelyra whispered softly to him, running her hands over his hot scales soothingly.

Aelyra eyed the dragon that had once been her husband's and climbed down from her dragon, steeling herself. This was war, this fate had been decided when those foolish idiots passed over her firstborn, her beloved Rhaenys, in favor of a male heir, going against her wishes.

Aemond's eye watched her enter in the same way that a predator would watch their prey but she had faced worse things.

"Honorable Lord Baratheon." She ignored Aemond completely and looked straight ahead at Borros Baratheon. Even if she despised his and his cowardice, the self serving nature of the lord in front of her, she would still give him the demanded respect. "A letter from my mother."

It should have been Rhaenys, It should have been her first born to be heir. The thought filled her with guilt but the injustice burned her even more.

Aelyra handed the letter off to the maester and displeasure filled her as she was sent back.

"Wait, Lady Targaryen." Aemond called out for her but she did not stop. She exited with grace as the rain soaked her to the core.

Even now, Aemond thought, unable to contain his anger, you're still walking away from me. I claimed Vhagar to be able to be someone by your side as you had claimed the cannibal. I kept up with my studies and my sword fighting to be on par with you and defend you but you still.

"She still won't look at me..." He muttered, dark eyes staring after her before he stormed after her, ignoring the calls of lord baratheon.

Aelyra could feel his presence behind her as she tried to calm cannibal. He could feel her panic, her underlying rage. Seeing Vhagar didn't calm him either. "Lykiri, it's okay." She hushed him, tensing as she felt him behind her.

"Lady Targaryen." His voice was dark, nearly growling as if he was as much of a dragon as Vhagar was. "How I've missed you."

"Why would you? There was never anything between us." She retorted, her purple eyes glaring as she spun around. "Take any ill intent towards me and cannibal will be happy to eat you whole."

As if to back her words, cannibal bared his teeth and growled at Vhagar.

"You were meant to be my wife and I will take what is mine." He hissed down at her, barely dodging the cannibal as he dragged her over to vhagar.

Fighting was useless, Aelyra realized. He barely reacted when she scratched and bit and punched him.

"Rhaenyra." Daemon spoke softly to his wife as he clutched the letter from Storm's End in his hands. "There's news from Storm's End."

A smile played on her face. So, her daughter had done it. Her precious child.

"Aemond had taken our daughter hostage." Daemon was a s gentle as his rage would allow and Rhaenyra immediately felt cold. No, not her daughter.

"What?" She croaked, her mouth felt as if she had swallowed sand.

"He kidnapped her from Storm's End as she was about to leave on her dragon. He has taken her to King's Landing." Daemon swallowed the urge to chew his own tongue out as he spoke the next word. "He intends to make her his wife."

her heart collapsed and her body with it. Her nails dug into the stone floors as her husband dropped next to her. The thought of giving up came to her, end this stand-still and go to her daughter. Let Aegon be king but leave her daughter alone.

"We'll get her back, I promise." Daemon whispered to her. "Our girl will return to us."

if rhaenyra really thinks that marrying her off to jace will protect her from aemonds obsession, its very laughable. aemond is obsessed with aelyra like shrines dedicated to her, like will mortally injure those who look at her and brutally decapitate those that talk of her. his obsession will fade or leave so even if she married jace, aemond will still pursue her, he will still seduce her and he will still marry her. nothing is going to stop him.

Imagine Aelyra is reborn as Baelon’s daughter (he named her after her) and Viserys then appoints her inheritance (he does it because the kingdom was perfect when she was queen) how would the Blacks and Greens react?

everyone swarms around her. they all know its their mom/grandmother/queen. The realm has never been more at peace. Baelon would absolutely cling to her if she was still alive and laughs as she snaps at him and tells him to compose himself.

otto would hold his reservations because she was a great ruler and she carries herself the same way she always does.

Alicent would 100% follow her around seeking her approval and her children inherit this trait. Aemond follows her around asking her what she wants, he's one second from getting on his knees when six year old aelyra just curses the gods in her head.

aegon probably stays out of trouble because he knows her scoldings are brutal. daemon carries her around constantly, expertly dodging her attempts at biting him.

Okay okay, but what would happen if everybody believe that Aelyra was murdered at Storm's End, even Aemond thinks that, maybe while she was trying to fight him she fell off from the dragon. What would be their reactions, from Rhaenyra and Daemon, also from Jace, Luke (he would think he was the one who should have died), her sisters Baela and Rhaena, and of course, the Velaryons and the Hightowers. Of course you can feel free to ignore this!

okay, just to preface, how the fight works in canon is aelyra actually gets kidnapped by aemond and he brings her back to king's landing where he marries her under both alicent and otto's approval, by the time of aemond's death at the hand of daemon for what he did to his and rhaenyra's daughter, aelyra is already pregnant, she goes on to give birth to a son which she then runs away with and lives the rest of her life in peace in the free city. she names her son baemon.

anyways, with that knowledge let's move forwards!

say, that while fighting aemond (he wants to kidnap her and aelyra absolutely refuses to go with his obsessed ass) she ends up falling off of her dragon to try and save both herself and cannibal. cannibal ends up holing up in a cave to wait for his mommy to come back for him while aelyra is saved by a fisherman who nurses her back to help and his daugter, who knows a little bit about the targaryens, tries to see her back to either dragonstone or king's landing but oh! what's this? aelyra, fully healed and fully amnesiac disappears into the night! there are still rumors of a white haired lady every now and then.

safe to say, daemon and rhaenyra are P I S S E D. That's their daughter, and when she doesn't come home they're worried and then the rumors of murder come and rhaenyra's ready to give up on this war. to hell with the iron throne, they can keep it. her daughter is dead and all she can do is scream her grief but then a letter arrives from daemon telling her that he would avenge their daughter.

jace undoubtedly is also pissed, once he gets the news in the north, he all but breaks down. His older sister, dead. his sister that had always cared for him and made sure he was okay. the sister that would make him food when he woke up hungry in the middle of then night. the sister who sang him lullabies and made up stories for him. his sister was dead and all that was left for him was rage.

luke, is so guilty, it should have been him. he's convinced of it. no amount of consoling will stop his nightmares or how he wakes up crying for his older sister.

alicent, criston, otto, aegon and helaena are filled with so much fucking guilt to the brim. it didn't matter that aelyra had been rhaenyras daughter or that she was so standoffish to everyone else. she had been a child to them, no matter how old she was. they had never wished death upon aelyra.

aemond, no matter his horror, was fully convinced that she was alive. nothing can convince him otherwise. all of his free time is spent searching for her and it continues on until his death. he never stopped looking for his love and the rumors of a white haired girl in one of the lesser port cities would attract his attention. it's only inevitable that he find his niece and bring her home <3
