Alright, I don't even go here, but I am getting extremely sucked into the lore of this game and my brain cooked up a potentially silly crack-theory.

Not very spoilery, but warning JIC, I'm going to be talking about some vague TOTK stuff.

Alright so Rauru and Sonia had to have had a kid somewhere, since they're Zelda's ancestors and all that... right? Now, I know there's the whole "Ancient Hero Aspect" kid idea, and I don't honestly know a whole bunch about Tauro but here me out...

A semi-immortal (or time-travelling) adventurer who explores the world mostly solo, investigating historical sites/ ruins. He can read the ancient Zonai writing. He accessorizes plentifully, has brown/tan skin, and hair that is a mix of (what I would say) looks black and blonde (or white), and he could have very informative eyes that he keeps hidden from our view.

He works under Zelda and respects her orders, keeping some time-altering secrets to himself until the time is right and is just sort of biding and enjoying his time until then so he doesn't mess up the timestream.

OPPOSITELY, he could just be a really tall buff Hylian with an interest in ancient history, and that's fun too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

🤣 Anyway, this is probably a dumb theory, but if I had to see it, then so do all of you. I have nobody who knows anything about the Legend of Zelda to talk about this with, and I have been deep diving into BOTW and TOTK for the last few weeks, so I gotta get this out of the vault somehow.

I love BOTW/TOTK’s Princess Zelda so much, it’s unreal. If there’s a third game, I dearly hope she meets someone who will straight up tell her, “You don’t need to sacrifice yourself and throw yourself on every grenade; you must LIVE.” Rauru, Sonia, and Mineru sort of filled this role for her by showing her love and affection and never pressuring her into a savior role like her dad did, but then everything went wrong and Zelda ended having to do… THAT to save Hyrule. This isn’t a criticism of TOTK Zelda’s character arc btw. I LOVED her growth; she’s the first Zelda incarnation I’ve genuinely loved, but I just want someone to finally tell her this straight to her face:
