Quest Tagaytay: A New Affordable Residence in Tagaytay

Whenever I need to go on a little break from the city, Tagaytay is usually the first place that comes to mind. It’s just a short 2-hour drive from Metro Manila and I always love feeling the fresh wind on my face. My favorite hotel there is Taal Vista (Taal Vista Hotel: A Landmark Destination in Tagaytay) with its amazing views of the lake. But for those who just need a quick and affordable place to stay, here’s a new friendly hotel that is located just beside the malls which will definitely not break your budget.

Quest Hotel Tagaytay is a new choice destination for relaxation, family bonding and even for those attending conferences or meetings in Tagaytay. With rates ranging from around P3000 to P4000 a night, sometimes even less, this new hotel promises to be a good alternative compared to the other bigger hotels and resorts. I had an overnight stay at Quest Tagaytay a few weeks ago and it provided me with all the basic qualities I look for in a hotel. It was clean, bright, and very much accessible to two big shopping malls in the area.

The hotel is located just behind the Fora Mall near the main Tagaytay Rotunda. You can’t really see the hotel from the main highway, so you have to drive down the road beside Fora Mall to get to it. Compared to the busy and crowded Rotunda area, Quest Hotel Tagaytay is a breath of fresh air with its spacious and less noisy driveway.

The lobby is bright and modern, with natural light illuminating it from both the front and back entrances. You can tell that it’s a new hotel because everything is clean and colorful.

They have complimentary parking on the basement and it leads straight up to the front desk. I checked in on a weekday so there were not too many guests. I always avoid going to Tagaytay on weekends because you end up getting more stressed from the crowds and traffic instead of relaxing. 

Check-in was a breeze and I went up to my room on the fifth floor. It was pretty quiet and I haven’t really seen any other guests yet. 

I booked the 23-square meter Deluxe Room which is their most basic room type. It comes with a King-Sized bed but you can also request for Twin beds if you prefer. 

The room also comes with a work desk, safety deposit box, mini bar, cable tv, and free wifi connection throughout the hotel. It’s a no-frills room setup, as it comes with all the basic necessities you need for a relaxing stay.

Coffee and tea-making facilities are also provided, with a jug of drinking water instead of plastic bottles for a more eco-friendly environment.

The bathroom is a bit on the small side, but that’s understandable given the size of the room and the rates of the hotel. As long as it’s clean and there’s hot water in the shower, I’m happy and content.

The view from this side of the hotel is not the usual Tagaytay experience, so try to get rooms facing the lake side when you book. The front desk attendant said that the Twin rooms are the ones facing the mall, while the bigger and higher suites face the road and the lake.

I took a look around the hotel to check its facilities. While there are not too many things to do inside the hotel, the swimming pool is one place that can provide a gorgeous backdrop.

The pool can be found just outside the lobby at the back of the hotel. It’s actually just a few steps from the Fora Mall, so you can take a quick dip before heading out to shop or to the restaurants.

You can actually walk right into the mall from the hotel’s back entrance. There are a few interesting restaurants here, but some of the shops aren’t open yet. Another option is to go to the neighboring Ayala Serin Mall down the street which is just around a 5-minute walk.

It’s location is probably the best feature of Quest Hotel Tagaytay, since everything you need is very accessible and just close by. This would be a great option for big groups or business people who just need a refreshing and comfortable place to stay for the night. 

Breakfast is included in my room so I went down early to the lobby the next morning. Cafè Q offers delicious Filipino and Western comfort food served in a contemporary and homey ambience. The cafe is just beside the lobby so you can also get refreshments and snacks here throughout the day.

They offer breakfast sets for two persons instead of the usual breakfast buffet. Guests have a choice from Filipino Breakfast, English Breakfast, and Continental Breakfast sets.

Complimentary breads with spreads are given as starters before your main orders arrive. I asked for the Filipino Breakfast with Beef Tapa as my main course. This is served with steamed or garlic fried rice, papaya pickles, grilled tomato, salted egg, and your choice of egg. It’s a satisfying way to start your morning.

Quest Hotel Tagaytay is a new refreshing option for those who frequently travel to Tagaytay for work or for leisure.
