SOS is intended to be an interpretive collaborative work, collaboration meaning between us as the author and you as the reader. that is to say, people are free to do whatever they want with it, and even in the off chance i don't like what that may result from, i still relinquish control upon the narrative as the author to the reader and i am okay with that. (tl;dr and philosophic feelings about creation/art aside, yes you certainly may, and I would be excited to see what you came up with, at that!)

sorry for not responding to this sooner, universe has tried to destroy me the last few weeks but i am stronger and i won. 8 - Who doesn't fold their socks? it's america for me. i think he folds them sometimes but he's also just kinda like Whatever about it. i mean i am american and i fold my socks, but going by vibe of this country as a whole, We Def Do Not. 9 - Favorite fan-made video? LORD okay gonna reveal my age here. i spent a ton of time on niconico (basically like japanese youtube) when i was first into hetalia in like 2007-2010 and there was a song/video meme of this high tension/low tension song, and someone did it with dennor and i Loved it. idk how the hell i would find it now. I also remember there being a lot of cool cosplay group videos back in the day, or actual model U.N. sessions at cons with hetalia cosplayers RPing their characters but with actual national policy stuff they tried to resolve Issues Somewhat Seriously (and as a former M.U.N. kid myself before i was a hetalia fan, i Loved that for us). just ain't the same as it used to be. 19 - Who owns the shittiest phone by choice? i had several immediate thoughts 1. austria because he's 1. fairly frugal and 2. he prob doesn't know what a jpeg is and 3. has better things to do. he just doesn't seem to be like a guy who super cares about technology that much and i can see him having the same phone he's had for ages as a result. 2. there is one version of america that has the latest iphone and trades his phone in constantly for the biggest and best phone on the market and is Tech Obsessed, but there is also another version of america that would have the crappiest phone whose protective case is duct taped together and the screen is terribly cracked and somehow it is still working even though it keeps flinging out of his pocket at violent speeds when he's doing donuts in a ATV. but honestly they are probably one and the same america. he keeps getting great new phones and then destroying them equally as fast. that sure does sound like some shit this country would do. 37 - Who has the most pets? depends on what you mean by pets since i think a lot of nations have some cool/significant relationships with animals, but those animals are not always officially Owned by them? like greece is around a lot of cats in canon, but are they His cats our just cats that are around him. is there a difference???? so i don't know. i will say i don't see norway owning any pets in modern day, personally, but i have reasons for that. 38 - Who needs a phat joint? fucking everyone. you know how hard it is to be a nation. the horrors they have witnessed over and over again. give them a break!!!!!!!!!!! if i have to choose one, it's ned, but not because i thinks he needs one more than everyone else. i just really want to be in a blunt rotation with the netherlands, but i also know that would probably Kill Me Instantly.

OKAY I know you asked this a bit ago sorry i got busy!!! work!!! turtle took a tiny chunk out of my finger!! the usual! y'know What's a headcanon you need to work out? i am blanking real hard with this but i Guess what i consider to be estonia's true name b/c von bock is von bullshit has been a constant Thought of mine for a long time. sme goes for a lot of nations that have bad canon names or no canon names like what the FUCK would i name them. it takes so much effort for me to decide. How long have you been in the fandom? What's your lore? i've been around a while! i can't date exactly when i started but it was at least sometime in 2008. i Think it was in the late fall of 2007, i've been trying to do the backwards math and i think this makes sense timeline wise, but my memory isn't exactly great. i figured out yesterday i am Pretty sure i was into hetalia before den/nor/ice were released?? which is. wild to me. anyway the story is that i occasionally saw hetalia fanart in passing and i was like. what the fuck is this but i don't care enough to investigate. and then i watched darker than black and was like wow i gotta tell my (now ex-)friend about this new cool anime darker then black b/c i am enjoying it a lot and i think she would too! and then my friend was like "i am going to totally ignore you. watch this thing called hetalia instead. you like other countries and history and languages and shit you should like this it's so funny" and i watched it and i didn't find it as funny as she claimed but i thought the concept itself was utterly Fascinating and i became Obsessed. my initial favs were japan/prussia/estonia initially, all for radically different reasons. i can elaborate on that if prompted it's just more text than i care to put here. then the den/nor/ice dropped and we had some comics with the nordic 5 and i was like oH FUCK these character dynamics between them are So Fun!!! and i have been in Hell every since. this is my third time getting back into hetalia after swearing it off for good and uhhh i think i have just been in denial this entire time that i am stuck here forever. Favorite Hetalia relationship dynamic? Any combination of the Anko Trio without question. they're such an interesting little complicated group. Post a Hetalia sketch or draft you want an excuse to share i am not very good at drawing and draw from the perspective of a more refined 8 year old child or something (positive). but i also don't have anything currently drafted writing wise that feels complete enough either so i am gonna share a dumb doodle i did and also share some upcoming things i plan on doing.

one of the chapters of the SOS sequel is going to be called "The Joy Machine" and i am. very excited about that.

also have a neat NorAus idea i am obsessed with and will probably write soon-ish. once i sleep and think a bunch

yeah i did!!!! i'm glad you liked it. i had fun writing it. and yeah múgsefjun is great i love their music everyone should listen to them imho.

i'm in the process of writing a sequel to SOS too (nothing is posted yet, i am in the planning stages still) which is weird to be doing in the year 2023 but i had a supremely strange sequence of events that happened to me earlier this year that i interpreted as a sign that i must write one, so. yknow.

in honor of both sweden swendsday and sparkle on it's denmark, i have two goldfinches i'm rearing right now and they get along great and are best buddies and are like WOW!!! FRIEND!!! at each other most of the time. but as soon as i feed them they start climbing over each other and blocking each other from getting food and violently pushing each other out of the cage so they can get fed first and it doesn't matter How full they are they're just like I GOTTA WIN!!!!! i keep thinking of them as densu and it's making me laugh a bunch

the next project i am going to write is a direct sequel to Sendlingur og Sandloá (era 2 pyrr writing, versus silence is era 1, we're currently beginning era 3), if you have ever read it. technically speaking, the few main things I still really like about Silence (unusual non-linear narrative structure, nor being mute, some of the philosophic arguments it makes, etc) and some of the events of Silence are "canon" prequel events to what happens in SOS. Silence isn't a prequel to SOS, but Silence is essentially the prototype version of SOS in that without Silence, SOS would have never existed and SOS was directly built upon Silence's corpse. i mean death of the author and all of that, but there isn't any denying that if you analyze the two works i think that is a very easy conclusion to come to. the new project i'm currently formulating is essentially taking SOS and those aspects of Silence i think are still valuable now that i am nearly twice as old as when i wrote it, and putting them both into a blender and seeing what happens when i reconstruct them. you will not have to read Silence or even SOS to read it, but if you have read either or both you'll go AH YOU MOTHERFUCKER at me, probably, a lot, when reading it. :/

you know come to think of it, idk if i have ever seen anyone else do it either?? which makes me feel singled out and kind of weird but it tracks for my entire personality to be an over the top freak about everything i do (positive tone).

all i have to say for myself is that it was fun and i really enjoyed making it and it was kind of self-healing to make (and gave me plenty of excuses to go run around in the woods and revel in the beauty of nature). even though i did have a near mental breakdown late one night b/c i lost the lithuanian flag and floundered around in my office trying to find it for 30 minutes

Norway is my best boy and i don't know what i would do without him in my life. i am holding him in my palm of my hand like a tiny baby bird. he was my main muse during the darkest part of my life (and it was Dark) as a teen who was figuring myself out, and so honestly? i'm very attached to him in a way that i have never been and prob never will be with any other character, so i feel very strongly about my personal interpretation of his character as a result. but also, i like seeing everyone's takes on his character and he's Beloved across the board to me.

all the nordics are my loves to me on a deep level and i feel this is skewed since he's in relation to norway and my relational feelings towards nor are so deep, that it skews how i feel about all the other nordics so strongly. but that is to say, i love sweden and i want to bury my face in his chest. i would probably start crying if i could do that.

yeah no prob!! radiohead is really good so i'm glad you enjoy them. i also suggest checking out this cover by punch brothers of the song that's in the soundtrack for it. they have a studio recording of it but i somehow?? cannot find it. they've also done some cool covers of some other radiohead songs too such as this one (haunting!!!) and this one. i haven't listened to straight radiohead in a while but when i saw packt like sardines in a crushd tin box while gathering the songs, i was like oh fuccck yeah i forgot how much i loved this song/radiohead. so thank you for giving something i can listen to while i work tomorrow. i am def doing better than i was back then (don't think anything will be worse than that period of my life). that being said i've gone through a lot of not great things + last 5-6 years have been Extremely stressful for me in ways i cannot even begin to explain and it is only been in the past few months i've really started to recover and get better. i am doing probably the best ever i have ever been in my life right now! i am very tired but i finally have time to self-reflect and space to myself for the first time in a really long time and it's nice to, forgive the pun, have nothing but silence. ✌️

as a fellow dad (nonbinary), all i want to do is to drink beer and barbecue with this guy while wearing ugly hawaiian shirts while discussing light politics or the weather, and then we would parallel play in his wood shop while he builds a table and i build a birdhouse and he gets real upset and concerned at me because of the unhinged way i am making my birdhouse with complete disregard of hammer safety, and afterwords we'd make cookies together in near silence and then sit by the fire reading different books with a big blanket over both of us. does that make any sense.

iceland is unintentionally hysterical and also i need to take a wrench and give him a tune up and maybe that would fix all of his brain problems because boy he has a lot of them. i have faith him becoming pretty incredible but he's still growing and figuring himself out.

people simplify denmark too much, there's a lot more going on there than people would guess. he was my initial favorite of the nordics at first glance and i'm just like <3 at him. i mean there is reason why i've had him on my car keys as a keychain for uhhhhh something like 12 years?? and never took it off even the first two times i left the fandom

ngl he's my favorite. people get him wrong a lot in the fandom too i think. he's living in his own little world while also being hyper-competent and lives to be a menace to the people is close to but otherwise would be living in the woods not talking to people for weeks at a time. so he just like me fr, i'm just way more personable and significantly less hot lol
