The story of this Boston vs Montréal playoff series has been insane. Before it even start’s Montréal sets Boston off by pulling their goalie in a game they don’t even need to win just to try play spoiler, but Boston makes it anyway (finishing a frankly awesome run post worlds). In the series itself all games go to overtime, one has triple overtime with Erin Ambrose playing over 60 mins, the whole game being on for almost 5 hours. It’s been a battle of goaltending with the sheer volume of shots faced by Frankel mounting insanity, giving her the title Green Monster. There were players saving goals, players in the net, the net knocked off its pegs and what felt like a million penalties including a 5 minute major. Players like Laura Stacey getting so many chances you have no clue how one didn’t go in for her. Both teams have a goal reviewed and called off. Montréal not really playing their 4th line in the game where one of Boston’s 4th liners gets the game winner. Montréal’s only even strength goal is from Poulin. Ann Reneè Desbiens finishes her season without a single win against Boston. It’s also highly entertaining that everyone was adamant this series would go the full five and not a sweep like what was predicted for Toronto but Boston sweep and Toronto are now everting game 4 without their best player.
