The purple Martin’s of Vancouver Island look unhappy (because I am standing to close to the nesting box) but the have a beautiful purple hue to their dark feathers and create a lovely noise. Nesting boxes are being put up all over the island to help the dwindling population of this bird. It’s presence on the conservation list has people actively finding simple ways to save this bird.
