A point of spiritual truth

"See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not" (Deut. 11:26-28). As this verse points out, a crucial aspect of our spiritual life is that we are responsible to choose the blessing over the curse, hope over despair, and life over death. Freedom is therefore a test of the soul, and any denial of our freedom is therefore an evasion of our task. It is "bad faith" to play the victim, to pretend that you can do nothing, or to passively allow yourself to be overtaken by natural passions. There are circumstances that may seem inescapable for you, but even then you can turn to God and intercede for his will to be done in you. Therefore choose this day to believe and take hold of God's blessing and promises! Choose to see that your life matters - that everything you do, every deed, every word, every prayer - is significant and has an eternal weight of glory. The commandments are "for life" (Lev. 18:5), meaning they are a blessing as we choose to believe. The sages have said "everything is in the hands of heaven except the fear of heaven" (Berachot 33b). When Moses said to the people, “And now Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you other than to fear the Lord your God..." (Deut. 10:12), he appealed to them make a real choice. God does not force people to trust in him but instead leaves that decision for each of us to make for ourselves. Dear friend, may you choose life that you may live! [Hebrew for Christians]

Fortnite Season X: Catastrophic Mission (Limited Time)

Limited Time Missions are a new feature in Season X that have replaced Daily Challenges, and they can be completed by all players.

The Catastrophic Mission is the fifth of these Limited Time Missions, and is now available for players to complete. This Mission contains a total of 7 objectives yielding 7 rewards, each of which unlocks daily at 9:00am ET (13:00 UTC). This Limited Time Mission is scheduled to expire on Thursday, September 5th @ 9:00am ET (13:00 UTC), so be sure to complete it before time runs out! This post will keep you updated when a new objective & reward become available.

Last Update: Objective #2 unlocked on August 30th, 2019.

Objectives

UNLOCKED (8.29.19): Deal damage with Pickaxes to opponents (100)

UNLOCKED (8.30.19): Eliminations from at least 50 meters away (3)

LOCKED: Use trap slot items in different matches (3)

LOCKED: Place Top 5 in Duos or Squads Matches (1)

LOCKED: Deal damage to opponents from above (500)

LOCKED: Visit Lonely Lodge and Lazy Lagoon in the same match

LOCKED: Search Chests at Shifty Shafts or Haunted Hills (7)

Rewards

Complete any 1 objective: 10 Battle Stars*

Complete any 2 objectives: 500 XP

Complete any 3 objectives: Catastrophic Loading Screen (Uncommon)

Complete any 4 objectives: 10 Battle Stars*

Complete any 5 objectives: 1,000 XP

Complete any 6 objectives: 10 Battle Stars*

Complete all 7 objectives: 2,000 XP

*Battle Star rewards are converted into XP for players who have already completed the Season X Battle Pass. Rewards granting 5 Battle Stars are converted into 500 XP while rewards granting 10 Battle Stars are converted into 1,000 XP.
